Anepalco is a modern Mexican restaurant located next to ALO Hotel in Orange, California. Our restaurant combines traditional Mexican ingredients with a modern twist. We focus on bringing flavors from all regions of Mexico to your palate. Come and try our famous chilaquiles, organic handmade tortillas, Huitlacoche Octopus tacos or al pastor tacos for lunch. Visit us for dinner where the menu gets sophisticated with a Agua Chile Negro, Chichilo Mole, Short Ribs Barbacoa with chochoyotes or Pork Belly Tacos. Worst server. Restaurant was Out of basic things such as milk and dessert. We were there for a thanksgiving dinner a party of 12 and she refused to take a picture. Miriam the server used the excuse that they were understaffed and couldn’t take a couple seconds to take a picture. Was force to tip $60 for a bad service. As a first timer I would never come back to this place very disappointed.

Perfect from start to finish. All food and drink was spot on. Food was cooked to perfection. Tasty and full of flavor. The Chicken Mole, Carne Asada, Esquites and Corn Cheesecake.
Staff was friendly and took the time to answer questions about our meals.

The service was good and staff were friendly. I remember the food being way better in the past. I have had the green chilaquiles before and I remember them being so good! This time I ordered them again and they were just ok. They were like mush and needed more flavor. Food was also a bit overpriced.

The ambiance, decor, and drinks are the best part. The kids menu seems to be a bit vague and this caused a bit of inconvenience. My daughter wanted scrambled eggs and they brought her scrambled eggs with ham (it did not specify scrambled eggs and ham). In order to avoid any complications, I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and they brought me an entire children's plate of scrambled eggs leaving me with lots of food for a child. As we were leaving I asked for box and packed my food to go. I accidently left it on the table and walked away (literally 3 mins), and when I returned to ask for my box of 2 orders of scrambled eggs (which I was charged for) it had already been tossed in the trash......bummer. If you have any doubts or questions, don't hesitate to ask in order to avoid any complicated situations or orders.

Very limited vegetarian menu. Though menu said no modifications allowed, they did allow us to remove meat from enchiladas and quesadilla. Very tasty corn esquitas. Guacamole presentation was nice as were the chips and salsa, different giving whole round tostada and 3 different salsas. Enchiladas had no flavor. Fit the purpose of the quick business dinner in a convenient location. There were some interesting and different non-veg options, including one with duck, but I did not get a chance to try.

We made reservations for 12:30 and didn’t get seated until 1:40 on a Saturday. It’s frustrating when you make reservations and have to wait a very long time. What’s the point of a reservation system if you’re waiting over an hour for your table. The hostess tried to make it right with us personally by getting our first round of drinks, but we couldn’t take that from her. We’ve loved this restaurant for years and the chilaquiles are what brings us back every time. Hopefully we’ll dine here again and the experience will be better.

The front staff was not welcoming and that set the tone for the lunch experience. Food and service were subpar. I ordered the green chilaquiles without eggs and the server suggested al pastor. However, my order still came with eggs so I sent my food back. My husband's enchilada was just okay. Location is on a busy street so it was noisy. All in all, it was a disappointing meal and service was unsatisfactory. I can't find anything positive about this establishment. I do not recommend spending the time and money at this restaurant.

Took Dad out for his birthday. This restaurant did not disappoint. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Drinks were delicious and food was delectable. The ambiance is nice and the presentation of every food item we ordered was beautiful. Will definitely be returning soon.

Service was good but we didn’t enjoy our food. Both the items we ordered were dry and not tasteful. We should’ve asked for something different but just kept on with our meal. Oh well. We’ll definitely visit the other location for their brunch because their dinner items were very disappointing.

I had a reservation and when I arrived and told the hostess she looked SO WORRIED because it was so full. it is like they let walk in's come in but HELLO BE AWARE OF RESERVATIONS. It was pretty full for Sunday brunch. She sat us down. 15 minutes went by with no water even though cups were already placed on table. 20 minutes in finally got the drink menu which we requested twice. My friend ordered coffee to enjoy with her meal. She finished half her meal reminded them and they still took another 10 minutes. To be honest they need to know how to handle a full Sunday. I love the food and ambiance and its the 2nd time I visit with poor service. Last time they legit did not bring my food and thought I was going to share with my date, what the heck? I am not one to be writing reviews but I hope they improve seriously. The food is so good!

The restaurant is alongside the ALO Hotel.
I was very excited to try this place, french/mexican and we all know the french know how to cook. Major disappointment. Every dish we had was awful, the Carne Asada had a very unfitting sauce I could not even make out the flavor they were trying to achieve, one of the worst sauces I ever tasted, the Quesadillas had very bland chicken, a weird cheese and a handmade tortilla that would wasn't good, would have been better off with a Guerrero tortilla and mexican cheese. if you don't know how to make tortillas don't bother. The Tacos Dorado was 3 chicken tacos in a soup while unusal, but actually not that bad. The Lemonade was supersweet (sickly) and the bill came to $120.
