Such delicious food but don’t bother letting them know you are celebrating a special occasion. It was on the open table reservation and I mentioned it to the hostess and waiter. Ni una palabra para desearla feliz cumpleaños.
We were really disappointed. The tacos were fair and good. But some of us ordered the Chile relleno and it was not at all filling. It did not come with a side dish and it was $13.50. We order chips and guacamole so fill us up and we were surprised it was $11.50 for that. Ridiculously over price and it was not good at all.
Decent and cute Mexican restaurant inside ALO hotel! The place has very artistic interior design, great and attentive service, and of course tasty food! I’m not a big fan of Mexican food, but this place impressed me. I cannot comment on authenticity, but definitely a yummy spot. Large portions for a cheap price too!
Great food. Chilaquiles were yummy. Mole was outstanding. Last meal before I started cancer treatment and I am glad I picked this. Reminded me of my grandmother's mole from childhood. Thank you!!
We went to this restaurant because of their reputation for outstanding chilequiles. I ordered the green version. They were by far the worst I have ever had. 90 percent tortillas that were so salty I couldn’ eat more than 2 bites. My husband tasted them and told me not to eat them. They were topped by a cold flattened scrambled egg and one tablespoon each of avocado sour cream and chopped tomato (was supposed to be pico de Gallo). My husbands enchiladas were ok. Service was slow but ok as they were busy. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. They did offer to replace what I ordered which I did not do. I left hungry.
I have been here three times. Always good food, excellent service. I have only had their margaritas and bloody marys so can only speak to those but thought they were very good.
One of my favorites. Excellent food and great service.
A top notch neo-Mexican cuisine restaurant. Having eaten my fair share of Mexican food from Canada to Mexico, this was absolutely delicious.
Food was poor. Trying too hard to be trendy to charge more. Arrancha was poor. Ceviche was fishy. Margaritas were $13 served with crushed ice. Just serve MEXICAN food. Service was pushy and rude. Jalapeños were .75 each. Food was not served, it was auctioned off at the table. All in all they are just Try Hards. Nice accent Enrique, very Rico Suave.
We loved our waiter Gerardo! We had to sit near the door so it was a little annoying to have the wind blow on us when it opened, but that's the only bad thing I can think of really. Delicious food and tasty drinks from the bar.
Food was outstanding along with the presentation. Looking forward to going back.
I believe most folks would appreciate earlier opening hours.
I have been to this restaurant before and was always pleased. I brought my parents yesterday for lunch and was very disappointed with the quality of the lamb that I was served. The sauce served with the lamb was excellent and the tortillas were tasty. The lamb itself has a lot of bone fragments and tissue attached. Quite honestly, I was very surprised and disappointed. I wish I had ordered something else! My Mom and I both ordered the lamb and had the same experience. My Dad was happy with his chilaquiles. It looked great.
The food at Anepalco is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. I’m glad they now have a kids’ menu so we can come here with our picky kids.
We had the Fish Tacos and Chicken Mole Tacos which were fantastic. Service was great and well timed.
I can't get enough of your Chilequilles - so delish!! And this time we discovered your al pastor tacos. MUY BUENO!!! Anepalco, where have you been all my life?!
I love their chilaquiles and hot chocolate for brunch
We went before an event at the Honda Center. It’s not a large restaurant and not busy so the service was just ok. The food was good. Not a lot of options for vegetarians or vegans. They were able to make an off menu drink which was great bc the drinks on the menu were very mezcal based.
it was simply lovely and delicious, good food.
the drinks were delicious !!
great service, the chef even came out to say hello.
We had previously dined at their Main St location for Brunch on a Sunday, it was outstanding! Sauce was homemade & delicious!
Dined at their Anaheim location last Saturday. Service was good. Ordered guacamole, very small portion compared to other Mexican restaurants. There were only 4 of us and we had to order another one.
Margaritas were good, small and they filled the glasses with ice so there was only a few ounces in them☹️
Don’t order the Duck, it was dry and the veggies were bland & overcooked!
The other entrees were very good.
Great food fabulous drinks great service. I’ve recommended!!
Was unimpressed with the overall experience. The food was mediocre at best and pricey. The duck was very chewy and over-cooked. The enchiladas were good but to be expected from a run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The service was really good and the drinks were good! Atmosphere was loud and up-beat but due to the small seating area and confined space.
Must try for all who love Mexican cuisine and love a casual amazing drink
Everything (food, service, atmosphere) was great! We love the vibe at Anepalco's: energetic and low-key at the same time.
The food was a pretty good take on modern Mexican. I really enjoyed my Al Pastor Tacos, but my wife's carne asada was not as good.
Food was excellent, great service, reasonably priced. If you like Gabbi’s at the circle but you’re over the 2-3 hr wait you’ll love this place.
Unique plate presentation wonderful flavor great sauces. One downside no substitutions. Only for allergy purposes.
Sat on patio. Good food. Service became faster when we said we had an event to go. Connected to a hotel.
Food was incredible and service was very attentive. I was there for a birthday and they made sure it was a very special occasion.
We had brunch before heading out to enjoy the spa. We come here often and enjoy everything this restaurant offers.
The menu was interesting and we were visiting from out of town. We ordered the guacamole and ceviche to begin. Both were beautiful in presentation and delicious. The guacamole was unlike any I've had at a restaurant and indeed lived up to the $10 price point. My husband ordered the vegetarian tacos which were tasty but a bit overpriced for what you get. I ordered the pork belly entrée. It was a beautiful presentation but needed to be sent back as it was not prepared to a proper temperature. The second time around was perfect. They made sure I was happy and indeed I was. May be a bit aggressive on some of the pricing but overall it was a very enjoyable meal presented beautifully with excellent service.
Upscale Mexican. Love what they are trying. You have to set your expectations that this isn't a yellow-cheese, fill up on chips type of joint.
That said, I left really disappointed.
- The food honestly didn't taste great.
- The chicken and pork in both dishes we ordered was super dry and overcooked.
- Sauces were flavorful (mole, chipotle, and what came with the calamari).
- Service was friendly but disorganized. Food took a while which is fine, but when it arrived it looked like it had sat out for a little too long.
- Presentation for many of the dishes is very odd. In particular they serve the tacos on a cast iron which overcooks the tortilla of the taco, and adds an unpleasant ferrous taste (what did they expect!?).
- If the food was spectacular the price would be justified. But it really wasn't.
I have always wanted to try this place out so decided to come with my friends for my belated birthday celebration. The bartender and waiters were all very helpful, the food was amazing. I didn't drink but my friends tried some mules and then they were actually given a cocktail in the house! Overall, this is a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine. I tried the Not pa' Ella which was amazing but my friend had the arrachera served over chilaquiles and I can tell you that when I return, I'll be ordering that plate. Those chilaquiles are the best I've EVER had.
Good food service was a bit slow
Overall awesome apps and entree the desserts were okay but not to the level of the entrees.
Met another couple there. It was our third time visiting and the food and drinks are always spectacular. The service is a little slow bc they are usually very busy but the servers are nice.
Fantastic option for any situation. Best fine dining mexican food in OC.
The food is traditional Mexican flavors but with a refined presentation and upgraded Ingredients. Food was excellent. The presentation was really well done. No complaints here. Avid foodie eating my way thru Orange County
Loved it! The food and drinks were incredible and the service was top notch.
Father’s Day Brunch. So glad we had reservations because they had a table waiting for us outside. The patio is lovely, but the traffic noise was a bit much at times. Overall, we had a fantastic brunch and the service was great.
