Best tacos ever!!
Still excellent and service was outstanding. We came in from Central NJ for Luke Combs and after visiting Anejo twice in prior years decided to try it post pandemic. Restaurant was spotless. Service was outstanding and food was excellent. We didn't realize it was Happy Hour (our part of NJ does not have alot of happy hours!) Took advantage of the menu! Only comments were the nachos had too much cheese...not a normal thing to say too much cheese but the bottom was all cheese. Margaritas were very small but maybe that is a Happy Hour thing. Other than that we had a great dinner.
There were two bartenders and one was very pleasant. The other one was fine although not as attentive but that wasn’t a big deal to us. The restaurant was incredibly loud but probably wouldn’t have been an issue for us if we had not been so hungover haha.
Very good food. Great brunch value. Average service
amazing! food was 100% & the service/waitress was so helpful when we asked her for local suggestion. will definitely be coming back whenever i’m in town
Great food. Guacamole had a bit of a “kick” and duck carnitas enchiladas were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Big portion. Sitting outside was comfortable.
Great food, and a great experience. I definitely will be coming back when I am in town next.
My friend and I went to Anejo to celebrate her birthday! It is much smaller than I expected but that makes it more intimate. We ate inside which is nicely decorated with low lighting and had sanitizers on every table. There were a lot of cute areas to eat outdoors it was just too chilly for us. They checked our vaccine cards/IDs upon arrival and were quick to take our order. The food was good and you definitely get a lot for what you are paying which is good.
It was just ok. Our server was wonderful. The teenage girls next to us were annoyingly loud.
Our dinner was outstanding. Great food and service. I would dine there again.
Delicious food, attentive service, great stirred cocktails.
I’ve been going to Anejo for years now, I live right across the street. It used to be one of my favorite places in the neighborhood for brunch and dinner. Over the last couple of years I’ve seen a steady decline in the quality of food, a major decrease in the size of the portions and a noticeable increase in the prices for what you get. I understand that we are just coming out of a major pandemic but for that reason more than any other you should get better value for your dollar.
The margaritas are fantastic, as are the shrimp tacos —can’t wait to go back. Nice outside seating areas, too, and friendly, efficient staff.
The ambiance was really fun and the waitstaff was great! As a lover of corn chips, our party of 4 did not love the chips!! They were puffy and greasy. The tacos were great and my salad was yummy! I ordered the tuna ceviche and sadly it was frozen which was a bummer so sent it back. All in all would prob not go back because of the food :/
We were late for our reservation (we did call to inform the restaurant that we were running late) and they were very accommodating. Our server was very attentive and the food was delicious. I look forward to a return visit.
Terrific food, great, prompt service. Really like this place.
Guacamole was delish as was the short rib and shrimp tacos. The Blanco Margarita was very tasty!
My favorite PreTheater Happy Hour stop & I'll continue to keep up this tradition. Margaritas are fantastic, menu has great blend of something new plus the favorites, great sidewalk vibe, service is always great.
Delicious! Went for the siesta lunch and really enjoyed. Outside setup was great.
Good drinks, good food, would definitely go again!
Went for a birthday brunch and had a great time. The atmosphere was nice. The brunch special was so good, especially the coconut flavored French toast with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Our waiter was very attentive and our food arrived to our table fairly quickly and hot. The mimosa was also very good. I would definitely return for brunch as well as for dinner. Anejo is a really nice spot. I like it a lot.
All the staff were friendly, well trained. Food and drinks were fantastic. Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back. The guacamole sampler was so good - generous portions. Fish Tacos and Cauliflower tacos were so good - loved the garnishes and freshness of everything.
Overall such a great place, amazing food, amazing drinks, such a nice ambiance
Get the pork belly tostadas! Fun small plates and great cocktails. Staff is super nice and helpful. Great playlist too, and a decent happy hour menu.
A great Hells Kitchen spot!
Always love this restaurant… Try to hit it every time we come into the city. Food is excellent service is great
Great customer service, food and ambiance. Highly recommend.
Clean, attentive to safety standards and delicious food
Was here for HH so mixed drinks were a bit sweet but pricing is decent. Food was nice and service was great. Good place for HH and catchup with friends outdoors.
I would recommend the restaurant, however we were seated outback near these pride flag, and it was very hot. That’s not a good spot to sit.
Small, crowded restaurant loud and dimly lit. Even though we had a reservation there wasn’t a table for us indoors. We were offered a table outside that we declined. Luckily a table opened up and we were seated. We ordered their signature Margaritas and they were small and watered down. We ordered another house favorite, the Octopus, was hard as leather and the smallest I’ve ever been served. The meal, restaurant and service were mediocre at best, and this is nothing more than a “local dive” and shouldn’t show up on anyone’s recommended restaurant list for NYC.
Our second experience was very different from our first which was only a week ago.
The drinks were made not as requested but was made whole. One of them did not taste as good as I had the last time.
The food was not as tasty on both the carne asada and the duck Carnetos. In fact I had experienced bad stomach cramps that I rarely ever get.
All in all, it was a disappointment, hopefully an off night for this restaurant.
Hi RBMA, Thank you for your feedback and thank you for choosing to dine with us. I would like to apologize for the drinks not being made as requested. Its unfortunate your second visit wasn't as excellent as your first time around. I hope that the next time you visit we can exceed your expectations again. And if there are any issues with service or food don't hesitate to ask for a manager and I will be more then happy to correct any issues. We hope to see you soon!
Always a great experience
We ate outside-the inside is a little tight and noisy. Food is great, go for happy hour as it can be pricey. Happy hour has good deals.
A great place to have dinner with a friend. Had restaurant week menu with mushroom quesadilla as appetizer and delicious duck enchiladas as main. Coconut Dessert was a bit underwhelming. But overall a very enjoyable experience.
This was a special night out to a restaurant that I have wanted to go to. Not disappointed! Margaritas were perfect! Short rib tacos—OMG. just Wow!!! Guacamole and fresh chips, coconut flan to finish.
The staff was so attentive and kind. The food and drinks were also amazing. I recommend the Blanco Margarita.
Will come back soon
Very good option to Mexican food. Good price too!.
Well for one… partitions are not consistent in this establishment when separating the tables… secondly the music… it was on and off and then no music at all. They would play a great song and then silence. For at least 10 min at a time which takes away from the ambiance. Thirdly I originally wanted the pork belly which they said was “sold out” at 330 in the afternoon? I then wanted the octopus which was also sold out. I settled for the duck which was horrible. We didn’t even eat it but also didn’t bother to complain due to not much on the menu to order from. Only positive was the short rib tacos and the fish tacos were REALLY good. Ordered margaritas but the amount was less than standard at $15-$16 a glass
Hi Bluevirgo, I want to thank you for visiting Anejo. We apologize for the music cutting out, the cable company’s hardware on the building was damaged which affected our internet. It’s since been fixed. With the increase in business and shortage of kitchen staff, time for prepping for Some food items have been affected. We’ve address these issues. And hope you’ll return in the furture for a better experience. Again thank you and hope to see you soon! Management
