Anea Bistro is a Mediterranean restaurant in Cincinnati. The artistic interior will inspire you to try new tastes during your visit. Each wall is lined with incredible landscape paintings, while the rest of the dining room has a very modern and elegant feel. Chandeliers with crystals and metal hang from the ceiling and help to tie the whole design of the room together into a modern, yet exciting place to be. Enjoy a meal at your own table or take a drink and a snack at Anea Bistro's full service bar. Start your lunch or dinner with an appetizer of crostini or steamed mussels before moving on to the soups and salads. Briefly: we arrived and were shown a table in front of the door that was cold. When I asked, before even sitting, to have another table instead, they refused even though there were two available. Their only answer "it would confuse things" or "others are coming". What? All three were identical four-tops. They repeatedly refused and the manageress just turned and walked away. At that point we should have left. We took our seats only to find the table itself was broken and would not sit flat. The server came to fix it. I had the ravioli entree. It was undercooked , the pasta was still hard. The chef came and said "I've never heard that before" so I replied "which is why you need to know". My wife specifically asked for her soup to be served hot and guess what, when it arrived it was tepid and had to be sent back to be heated. I feel sorry for the servers who were terrific. So I tipped appropriately. But we will never return. They clearly don't care.

We had an amazing evening at Anea. Each one of us had an exceptional meal -- perfect sized portion, lovely spices and herbs, terrific combinations of vegetables and main dishes. The chef came out talk with us and the wait staff were charming. And there process were reasonable. A delightful find and worth the effort to find -- pull in behind the UDF and there is a neon OPEN sign in the front window. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

I really wanted to love this place. I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. It was what I would expect from a strip mall restaurant. The service was not polished as I would have expected from the quality of the menu prices that the restaurant touts. I was hoping for more.

Small place has limited seating. Tables are very close together, so you feel like the next tables conversation is at YOUR table. Salmon was a hit at our table, while the table next to us had $17 burgers. Mushroom appetizer was "ground-up unknown food", texture seemed too light to be mushrooms. But aside from the food and service, it was FREEZING in there, wish they had moved the decorative "gaslight" in front of the outside door to the inside. We ate with our coats on, and would have left, but our 7:30 reservation and 8:45 dinner served made it too late to find another table elsewhere. Again, we LOVED THE SALMON, and also the TENDERLOIN. Our desserts tasted like "packaged products" and a disappointment, we did not finish ours after tasting. We WANT TO LOVE this place, it is quaint, has delicious food, and friendly service, and we will return and give them another chance, we know they can do better at these prices. Respectfully Submitted for all restaurant enthusiasts...

While it's a destination restaurant, food chef Eric Roy serves up for lunch and dinner is well worth the drive out to Montgomery: I had a delicious cup of carrot cumin soup and a red cabbage,white bean, salmon salad for lunch that was perfect! My friend has a delicious hamburger; he claimed it was one of the best he'd had in some time. Roy uses local in season and has wonderfully imaginative creations but not over-conceptionalized.

First time at Anea and we were impressed. Cute place with warm ambiance. Regarding complaints about cold air from the entrance, this has been addressed with large screens to block the air as well as a small heater on the floor facing the front tables. We were seated next to the screen on a cold night and we were plenty warm; almost too warm. As for the food, it was excellent. We had the special, Chilean Sea Bass, and the beef. Minor complaint on the sauce for the beef--it was a bit too salty. One of the chef/owners stopped by as we were finishing and we mentioned it to him; it may have been a one-off problem with too heavy a hand in the kitchen. No worries, the beef was tender and tasty and perfectly cooked. For dessert we had cheesecake, and it was quite possibly the best cheesecake I've had this side of NYC. Outstanding! Service was attentive but not too much so. Overall it was a very good experience and we will be back again for sure.

We will absolutely be back to this Montgomery gem. Loved it all, from menu, ambiance and staff to food execution and taste. Beef cheeks stunned me, salmon equally wonderful, mussels phenomenal, great wine list. Dessert delicious and fun. Great for 2, 4 or 6.

We went as a group of four for dinner. The menu had interesting and uncommon dishes. Between the four of us, we had pork cheeks, duck, the tenderloin and the salmon. Everything was great. We also enjoyed the salads. The wait staff worked as a team, make good recommendations and was very friendly. The chef stopped by the table as well. I would not try to take a big group here, but for a small group that wants an intimate dining experience and enjoys a different menu, this is a great place.
