Andora Sewickley Ratings and Reviews
I haven't been to the Mt. Nebo road location in over a year but it was a good midway meeting place for lunch with a friend. Some difficulty at the host desk caused a long line to develop but once that was sorted out the line cleared quickly. I had the broiled crabcake salad with citrus dressing and it was delicious ; my friend ordered the salmon salad but was able to substitute the citrus dressing for the one listed on the menu, and was pleased. Service was good, the noise level rather high but we were able to converse. The location just a short distance off I-79 is convenient,
although it was early and not very busy our service was pretty slow (waited over ten min to give drink order then over ten min for drinks to come) ended up skipping salad as we didn't want to have a three hour dinner! Once we were able to place food order everything came out in a timely manner. Food was good
Three lunches--only one was great. Other food was just satisfactory. Drinks at lunch were very pricey. Also, had dinner there the week before with a party of 5. Service was very slow. Appetizer was taken off of our bill because it took too long. Steak ordered medium rare arrived well done. I think I will look for another restaurant in the area with better service and food. The only plus about this restaurant is the great outdoor seating.
Went here with family to celebrate my brothers engagement. The service was outstanding! We had brought an outside dessert and the waiter offered to refrigerate it for us. We sat on the upper patio and it couldn't have been more perfect. There was sunshine but not beating down on us and the fountain and lighting provides a really great atmosphere. Definitely want to go back
Not what I was expecting. I definitely felt under dressed and the menu items were more expensive than anticipated. We wanted to enjoy the outdoor seating but that was an additional 45 minute wait. Definitely specify in reservation. It didn't seem like other tables were having this issue but our food took over an hour to prepare. Maybe under other circumstances this restaurant would have been fantastic but for the price we should have had a better experience. They did comp our appetizer for the wait but we would have preferred if the manager had just come to the table and acknowledged us.
There was a group of extremely loud ladies in our dining room that made it almost impossible for our guests and us to talk. We were glad that they were having fun but it made it a rough dining experience for us. In hindsight, we should have asked to be moved to another room.
Really enjoyed my time here at Andora. I had the steak and crab cake, which was wonderful, while the other member of my party had a filet which was the same as mine. The outdoor seating is beautiful and I would reccomend coming here as it doesn't break the budget for a nice meal. The waitress was slightly short and seemed angry, but it did not effect our dining experience as she was not rude to us. Will be coming back!
Service was slow and while wait staff was pleasant on the surface, I just felt like she was going through the motions with rote responses. Food was fine, but would not recommend highly for the price. The management did comp us an appetizer and dessert after discussing our disappointment with the wait. We were outside and only one other table was occupied, so not noisy. Inside is very noisy as others have noted. Too many better choices in the area to recommend this place. Probably our first and last time there
This place was loud, really loud. We went to celebrate our anniversary (and are not new to Andora) but when we arrived they were rearranging tables in a couple rooms. Seems they were trying to pack extra tables in those rooms since another room had a private party. It was no big deal in the beginning (a bit crowded, but tolerable) but then the other tables started filling up. My husband and I could BARELY hear each other. One table of 6-8 was practcally shouting, I can't imagine the entire restaurant couldn't hear their conversation. This crowded and loud environment I might expect from a lesser restaurant, but it's not okay for the price point of this restaurant. My only other complaint was I had hardly any pecans on my salad (the best part! I paid $10 for a side salad, you can hand over more than 4!!!). Otherwise, service was speedy until the end when there were lots of tables, it took a long time to be able to pay and escape. :) We thought Sunday night would be quiet...apparently not.
This had the potential to be such a great dining experience. The atmosphere was nice, the outdoor seating is beautiful, and the food was great. Our waiter was sub par - took a while to get our drinks, asked for a kids menu twice, was absent through most of the meal. Not a ton of food for the price, but still very good. Kids steak was burnt to a crisp, but we sent it back with no problem. Good definitely outweighed the bad. Half price wine bottles on Tuesday so we'll be back!
Great restaurant for lunch and dinner close to home. The menu items have something for everyone's taste and the specials are always very tempting. Outside dining is definitely a plus. It is easy to get to, right off an Interstate. They have ample parking also.
