Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield.

We had a marvelous meal before the theater. The restaurant was crowded and a little noisy. Thus the “ambience” was diminished somewhat. Regardless, the food was excellent and we enjoyed our birthday evening. The “free” birthday dessert was a special treat. Take the opportunity to enjoy the quinoa chocolate brownie. The service was outstanding.

We had an outstanding dinner at Andina. Our server explained the menu very thoroughly and he (as well as the kitchen) was very careful about our dietary restrictions. The food was wonderful and the service was unobtrusive but impeccable.
This is our first visit to Portland and Andina was a great find.

There are two dining areas. We were seating in the one upstairs. It was very quiet which was fine, but we definitely felt removed from the restaurant’s ambiance. Never filled up so it felt like we were afterthoughts. Service was very slow. On the plus side, the menu was very diverse with a nice mix of traditional Peruvian fare and creative new combinations of flavors. The speciality drinks were excellent and the lamb shank was divine. Will definitely go back as long as we get a table in the main restaurant area.

As always Andina is a Portland icon. We went to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful time. Sharing tapas made for delicious food and wonderful conversations. I hadn't been in years and it stands the test of time.

Love this spot, however our waiter was extremely rude this visit. He was rushed and took it out on us. His demeanor and language were very abrasive.
