Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield.

Andina Ratings and Reviews
Love the diversity of cuisine and the spicy (but not burn your mouth out) flavors. Service is great and the noise level allows for conversation (my hearing is not great, so I appreciate the good acoustics). Parking is hard to find so allow extra time to park.
Our waiter was below average. I expect the waiter to smile, make some eye contact, and have opinions on the menu. This is probably the kind of place where certain dishes are star dishes, and it would have been nice to know which dishes to order.
The value was great, a rather inexpensive meal for what it was. The duck was grossly sweet as was the rice it was paired with. The lomo was cooked well but not mindblowing. Yuca is yucca, a good filler I suppose like a bread or chip anywhere else. The causa was a bit bland in my opinion and overpriced, as it's really just a chicken mayo salad on a sweet potato.
I'm hoping some of the small plates are better, or that the entrees vary in quality.
IF by energetic you mean way too loud, then I selected correctly. Andina used to be one of our favorite spots. It is still good, but has gone down hill a bit. The food was good, but not outstanding, and the wait staff seemed confused. They brought us the wrong food two times. It also took a while to get our drinks. Overall it was an okay experience though, and I would recommend it to friends.
5 stars all the way!!!!
Went here for my birthday lunch with wife.
This was my first time experience with Peruvian food.
Started off with YUCA FRITA with their sauce, wow.
Had their seafood special MIXTO CHORRILLANO. Best sea food taste I've had in my life.
And dessert was just perfect HELADO DE LÚCUMA , this ice cream is made of native Peruvian fruit and it tastes heavenly.
Definitely would recommend trying out this place to anyone!
The food was delicious. Great food, great service. The Ambiance can be a little better. it wasnt anything special. The Avocado sandwich was great. The benedicts were well made and great taste. everything about the food was great and our server was really nice and gave us great suggestions.
Our waiter was very friendly. The Spanish frittata was delicious!! My duck entrée was a little dry and the rice was undercook, but the flavor was very tasteful! I went on a Saturday evening where it was quite busy, that may have contributed to the results of the food. Our appetizer came out fast, but our dinner was a little slow. I will have to go back and try other dishes. Over all, it was good!
So unbelievably noisy I had to shout to be heard across a one person table the entire time. They seated us (a couple) for some strange reason in the very middle of a room of large boisterous groups even though there were three empty wall-locations/booths for couples the entire time we were dining. Overall lovely food, nice people, nothing else to complain about, but it's hardly a date night if you literally can't talk to each other all evening without shouting.
As usual, the food was terrific. Andina is an inventive and consistently great place. We had a very nice experience with the sommelier who helped me choose a wonderful 2007 Montepulciano dAbruzzo which was a wonderful experience at a relatively reasonable price.
I ordered stuffed peppers for an appetizer
which actually tasted good but it came out cold. After waiting 20 minutes to receive my
new order it came out cold again. You can’t make this stuff up. Went on to the paella which was just ok. A meal and a place to forget
Took friends who had never been there. We had several small plates that the server did a super job of pacing the delivery to our table. All of the dishes we ordered were excellent and beautifully presented. Our friends are still talking about how great the food was a week later!
My boyfriend and I had our first special date at Andina, so he naturally chose this place to pop the question. It was such a romantic, lively atmosphere for the occasion. Shortly after we exchanged rings, a staff member brought us bubbly to toast with, which was generous of them. It was a great experience and a wonderful evening. Thanks, Andina, for being a part of our special day!!
I loved the vibe of this place. The tapas food was excellent and the wait staff gave great recommendations. Bar service to the restaurant was very slow. Food was speedy but worth it. Get a reservation a week in advance is my only advice. Will definitely return.
