The food, as usual, was terrific. The hostess gracious. The noise level uncomfortable. The service a bit lackadaisical. Andina, nevertheless, remains one of our Portland favorites.
We were celebrating a birthday and it also happened to be Portland Dining Month. The food was fantastic. The quinoa main dish was divine!! Truly! As was the first course and dessert. Thank you so much for caring about the food you create and serve.
Wonderful experience. Food was outstanding, service top notch (Thanks Max). My only complaint is that it is quite loud in the restaurant. We cant' wait to return. What a delightful surprise. While everything we had (and we had many dishes) was delicious, there were a couple of standouts. I highly recommend the stuffed peppers and the meat empanadas, you won't be disappointed.
Andina used to be my favorite restaurant in Portland. But the food quality and portion sizes have gone down, while the prices have gone up. It's just not the experience it used to be.
First Impression was not good as they did not have window seats for two. Window tables was only provided for party of 3 or more. This was disappointing since we were there for a special occasion. However, they found a perfect window seat for us at the end. Thank You!
My husband and I went for our anniversary and Portland Dining Month. We were very pleased with our meal (1 veggie, 1 omnivore), and the Minuta soup was to die for! We'd been here about 3 or 4 times before including our 3rd date and always happy to go back. Also we had reservations for 8:00 and I called when they opened at 4:00 and asked if there were any openings earlier... the host offered a few suggestions for winging it and offered to call if anyone cancelled. Someone did and we got in at 6:30! AWESOME service!
A good food change up very well done cant wait to try other plates here next time!
Great meal. Authentic with a twist. Owner came to our table to explain reasoning behind dishes. Great live music. Imaginative cocktails too.
The food was to die for. We had a great time and the servers (all of them) were friendly, attentive and a pleasure to talk to. I will definitely be back with new friends so they can enjoy what you offer.
It was a date. Food was very good. Portland dining month was awesome. Pinot Gris was great
Very good service. Beautifully decorated place.
I made reservation for two but with last min plans I had a party of four . Staff was very Friendly and accomodated us for a party of four with just 30min wait . Good food , good atmosphere . Only complain I have is that the server charged me for the wrong bill. .
We enjoy the food and the ambience. Will definetly come back!!
Both the food and the service were outstanding. I have been to Andina's a number of times but my friend hasn't and she was as impressed as I knew she would be.
Four of us had the Portland Dining Month menu. I really enjoyed all three courses and the wine. My friend's vegetarian entree was not very interesting, however. The musician was excellent. Always a fun, friendly place with excellent service.
Excellent meal at Andina. It had been awhile since we had last been here but we quickly remembered why the place is always packed. Great creative menu and excellent drinks! Its one of the best restaurants in Portland, and that's saying something.
Amazing first time experience! I came here with the boyfriend to try out the menu during Portland Dining Month, but ordered a few extras, such as the beef empanadas which were pretty damn good. Overall, I can't wait to enjoy eating here again!
Such delicious food. Our service really was fine, our waiter just seemed to be having an off night but the food is out of this world delicious.
We like Andina. The food is always excellent, different from the rest. But the dining area felt a little crowded this time, and there were no Oregon IPAs on tap (the server said the Ft George was not available due to delivery issues from the brewery, but they had no other offerings to replace it; they should have). I'll still come back to Andina, but I think they can try harder.
Wonderful experience of some new tastes. The food was excellent in an understated way: perfectly blended flavors with no one taste predominating. Gorgeous plating.
Overall was good. Would give our waitress five stars but from watching all the staff work around us probably give her supervisor two stars. Got the sense employees are not taken in to consideration much. Food was good, but it was for my birthday and honestly, we hit up Taco Bell on the way home. We had reservations that said it was for an adults birthday and we were seated in the middle of the dining room with a party of three, and I repeated, "I'm sorry, I can't hear you", about two dozen times. However, the brown butter scallops were to die for.
Great food, great service in a cool space. Certainly worth the check and returning too.
The food was fantastic! The service, not so good.
We visited this place for lunch two years ago and enjoyed every dish very much. This time, the food (varieties and tastes) is quite different from the experience we had before. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 main courses for two of us. None of them really gave me any surprise or pleasure. The Peruvian Paella tasted like an ordinary seafood fried rice, which needs more flavor and seasoning. The rice itself can use some paella rice instead of ordinary Asian rice. The grilled octopus did not have the grilling smell. The fried dumplings filling is good but it need some dipping sauce for dipping. We just wonder if there is a change of ownership or chefs. We may try it again in a few months.
Lamb and duck were delicious. Service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm. Despite our 21:30 reservation, it was still very crowded, yet we were seated promptly on arrival. We’ll certainly be dining here again next time we’re in Portland.
We went to Andina for a belated birthday. We were treated like royalty, given a wonderful both with plenty of urban street scenery to watch. Food and service were amazing! Our server oriented us to the extensive menu and made suggestions that turned out to be spot on. We ate mostly tapas (the yuca empanada was probably the stand-out) and also shared the paella, which was fantastic. The scallops were memorable - fresh, sweet and perfectly prepared. We will be back soon.
Went there for Portland Dining Month. Enjoyed the special Dining Month menu. Also enjoyed the Peruvian coffee and Pisco Sour.
Another perfect meal at Andina! I understand why this place is always hoppin' when we're in. Service, quality, value--everything rocked! Thank you for participating in dining month and reminding me how much I love you!
Food was amazing, service was very attentive. I'd say it's on the middle to higher end of the dining out spectrum that PDX has to offer.
The place was slammed and it took 2.25 hours (7:30pm - 9:45pm on a Thursday) to have drinks/appetizer/entree/dessert. I understand it's more of a "dining experience" kind of place, but it was so busy I couldn't hear my boyfriend across the table - if the food or service was less than amazing, I would have walked out.
Food was good, but our server seemed like he was sick of his job. Barely spoke to us, and when he did I could not hear him.
This was our first visit to Andina. The Portland Dining Month menu was absolutely delicious. The food was artfully presented and vibrant in color and flavor. The service was outstanding. Our server, Gabriella, was warm and attentive. She made us feel as though we were the only diners in the room. All in all, a perfect night. We will definitely be returning!
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Never get tired of amazing food, excellence in service. Noisy , but still my all time favorite Restaurant . Thank you !
It was my daughter's 21st birthday and she enjoyed the dinner and service.
My third time here in all and I was not disappointed. Very good service, tasty dishes, and good Pearl District vibe.
Just go for the food, everything else it's a bonus! Meals are beautiful and memorable.
Happy enjoyed colorful & delicious drinks in the spacious bar prior to being seated for dinner. The dining room is open & although it was very crowded our table for two off to the side afforded us privacy. I usually can only find one, maybe two items on the menu that interest me. Both my husband & I were interested in so many entrées we knew we were going to return soon. The presentation of the entrée was elegant. I chose Arroz con Mariscos (Peruvian style paella). Superb, fresh, well seasoned and perfect serving size.
In the bar seating area conversation not possible; great S. American themed live music precludes conversation. In the main dining room conversation difficult due to lack of any sound insulation; acustics virtually amplify ambient noise.
So good! Best ceviche
Our waiter was knowledgeable and guided us through the many possible choices for small plates to satisfy all three of us. Food was superb, especially the quinoa based dishes. Beautiful presentations and complex tastes that really made the meal memorable.
