Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield.

Always a great experience. We love coming here to celebrate special occasions and also bring our guest from out of town.

The food was excellent. Definitely an experience because all of the food is out of the norm. Nice place. We sat a little too close to the table next to us. Also, our waiter was not helpful with the menu at all, assuming everyone knows what Peruvian food was and how to say it. Also, he came off as snobbish.
Still, it’s worth trying at least once.

Great food. In my mind the best in Portland. I don’t mind paying a little extra for great food and this is.

A shining star in the dining firmament, Andina never fails to please. We have been there several times now and the food is consistently a delight visually as well as in flavor. I don't imagine that most people have experienced Peruvian food, let alone Peruvian food of this quality, before so dining at Andina is something of an adventure. Don't be daunted by delving into unknown gastronomical territory however, as the service staff is very helpful and there are offerings on the menu to accommodate just about any dietary requirements. Andina is our go-to restaurant when dining out with visitors to Portland.

Andina is always a delight. The small plates are especially inventive and delicious. It's expensive, but portions are large. The only drawback is the volume level. Andina is always busy and full of loud, energetic conversation. My ears were literally ringing when I left.

Everything we ordered was very good. Small plates were fine for one and a enough to share also. Lively if a little noisy.

3 of our 4 entrees were good, but the PESCADO AL ROCOTO Y KIÓN made with Mahi Mahi was over cooked and bland. Quinoa accompaniments were tasty. Staff and service were friendly and attentive. Staff recommended wine was very good and reasonably priced. Energetic vibe.

Excellent food, unique menu and great service, in a lovely atmosphere. It was Father's Day and a full house for lunch, but we didn't feel like it negatively affected our experience at all. Our server was very good, answered all our questions, and I appreciated her asking about food allergies, which kept me from ordering something with peanuts by mistake. I think it was one of the trip highlights for our friends visiting from Ohio; they LOVED it. We plan to return for dinner soon!

Went to Andina for a special occasion and very high expectations based on personal recommendations and reviews. The menu has a lot of selections and the selections are definitely not 'run of the mill' -- the dishes are creative and interesting. We shared 5 dishes among 4 people and were able to satisfy everybody's dietary preferences and have a flavorful and filling meal. Each dish was very good and presented very nicely but honestly I would not say I was blown away by any of them. As expected, tables are very, very close and the restaurant is a bit noisy. The server was OK and attentive but not overly so.

Love this place. We come here at least a few tones a year. Best kebob I’ve ever had, my pina colada was so creamy and unlike any I’ve had anywhere else. Absolutely delicious.

andina is a long-standing favorite of ours. The food is fresh, authentic, inventive, and delicious. Despite it being chock-a-block with guests, they pace the serving of dishes well. Service is always friendly and efficient. The vibe is energetic and the staff work beautifully together. I am so happy that it has remained a staple in Portland's food scene.

We had a great meal and great experience. One of the owners stopped by twice to make sure we were enjoying our time. It made us feel like we were having dinner at their home. I would definitely recommend!

On a recent visit to Portland, we had lunch at Andina (we were too late to get a dinner reservation). I had read about Andina before visiting Oregon from Toronto, and was happy that we ate there. Everything was excellent- the welcome, service and exceptionally delicious food. I rate it highly.

We ordered from the small plates menu so we could enjoy a variety of dishes. Everything was amazing. Empanadas, ceviche, scallops, salad, stuffed peppers, & dessert were all creative and delicious. Wine pours were a bit slight so going with a bottle is probably a better option.
We always consider Andina one our favorite Portland dining spots. 👍👍

Great food, willing to make accommodations for vegan/spicy level/allergies. My picky relatives from Virginia were impressed! We came here on recommendation from friends and were not disappointed. My only negative comment is that the noise level was a bit high, but we enjoyed our dining experience. Lots of unusual and delicious food combinations. Expensive, but worth it!

The ceviches were delicious and our aim entrees of fish and lomo Saltado were on points. By far the quinoa salad was my fav! A must visit when in Portland

This has thus far been our favorite dinner in Portland. The service could not have been better, and all of our food was tasty. We started with the cebiche, which was a simple preparation with Hawaiian Ono fish the day we were there. Our favorite dish of the evening was the stuffed piquillo peppers. They were very flavorful. For his main dish, the companion ordered the quinoa-crusted diver scallops. He loved them. I ordered lamb chops. They were very tasty, but had more fat on them than I would have liked. The accompaniments on both entree plates were great. We especially appreciated being able to order a smaller portion of our main dish. It permitted us to try more menu items and not have to leave great food on the plate at the end of the meal. One of my criticisms with this place, as with others, is that the tables are too darned close together. Still, this was a great experience.

Andina was our last dining experience in Portland after a number of excellent meals before it.

It was the perfect bookend meal to the first one we had at Nomad beginning the start of our long weekend. The food is Peruvian extraordinaire. Each dish imaginative in preparation and flavoring. We wanted to eat everything on the menu and had much to choose from for our dietary restrictions as gluten intolerant eaters. The atmosphere of the large space remains cozy. The service is attentive and knowledgable.

We will return and recommend this place to anyone heading to Portland. We want them to open a second location in our hometown, a great food destination, Austin, Tx.

Everything was awesome with the exception of the wait time which is why it's not being given 5 stars. We made a reservation through OpenTable for 8:45 pm and were not seated until 9:20 pm. They didn't offer to take care of anything on the bill and didn't seem to care that much while we were waiting that we had been there a while. In their defense, I think they were overbooked, but if I'm booking ahead of time and through a technology, that shouldn't happen and we should get priority. Other than that, food and drinks were amazing and our server was great as well.
