Overall it was a pleasant visit, the food and ambiance were both very good, there were just two snags. One, the music that was playing was WAY too loud, to the point that trying to talk when it was playing was a challenge. For some reason there was this odd gap between songs, which we kind of joked must be intentional to give people a chance to say something before the next song started. The other issue was our waitress. She didn't really do anything wrong, just kinda seemed like she didn't really want to be there. If you're going to be a good waitress, you gotta learn to fake that kind of thing and put your game face on when you're at work (or if you really just can't, do the patrons a favor and call in sick). The food and drinks were very good, the prices were reasonable and the décor was nice, overall it was a cute place so we'll probably give it another shot at some point, but hopefully the music will be a little softer and our waitress will smile from time to time.
Haven't been there in a couple of years, so we thought we'd try it again. Very pleasant experience. Great service, nicely decorated. One of our group had the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Very smooth sauce and very good shrimp. I had the Strip Steak. Done as ordered, medium. The vegetable side was delicious and so were the mashed potatoes. One of our group was a vegetarian and had a special request which was taken care of very graciously. All in all, I'll be back to enjoy the ambiance and the cuisine.
There were three persons in our party. Two of the three dinners were excellent. First the bad I ordered a special that consisted of over cooked noodles with tasteless spinach came with two scallops and two jumbo shrimp - this was a listless meal. I have eaten here many times and this is the first time I had a dinner I did not finish. Luckily two persons with me, ordered a New York Strip and Plank Salmon, and were kin of enough to share with me. Both were excellent. The desserts were top notch and almost made me forget my dinner plate. So while I would give a five stars to the dinners my companions had, I would give a one star to my dinner. We will be back however, I will not order the special, stick with the steak, salmon, veal, and homemade pasta meals.
While we enjoyed our food 3 of us ordered Chicken Picatta and although it was good
it didn't have enough sauce and the pasta was very dry. The Lasagna was
excellent. One person ordered fish but the kitchen made a mistake on his order
and he had to wait a good 5 minutes while the rest of us were already eating
My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here. This is actually the place we went for our engagement dinner two yrs ago. The wait staff was phenomenal, the food delicious and our dessert was the cherry on top. They wrote Happy 1st Anniversary on a piece of chocolate like a place card on our amazing lemon dessert. When traveling back home we'll most definitely revisit!! Thank you for making our night of celebration so special.

Hadn't been here in a while, glad we got reacquainted. Sam, our server was a joy. We each had a cocktail before ordering and were looking at the wine list for dinner when Sam suggested a bottle of champagne since Thursday is half off night for sparkling wines.
We had the bruschetta app which was excellent and we each created our own pasta dish from their selection of pastas, sauces and protein. My wife went vegetarian with the basil pesto, I had the garlic and oil with shrimp. We finished the night with a cannoli and the last of our Prosecco.
All in all, the service was great and food was well prepared. Reminded me of the restaurant owned by Andiamo's chef Aldo, back in the 60's. We will definitely be keeping Andiamo Trattoria in our dining rotation.
The wait was horrid to sit even with previously made reservations, hostess stated they didnt have a server for the outside patio when we requested it, than after we finally were sat no menus no water no silverware, finally upon getting the lone server working inside and outside we were able to order.... Worst thing in dining is you have a party of 4 and only 2 of the entrees ordered came out the kitchen than 15 minutes later the 3rd and than another 10 minutes later the fourth.... dish one horrible the best thing on the plate with the filet were the potatoes, on top of that it was requested medium rare it arrived well.... dish 2 the bourbon peppercorn steak horribly dry too many peppercorns and once again not cooked correctly.... dish 3 ravioli which arrived late was cold and tasted like something microwaved at a drive by over night diner only 2 were consumed and the rest wasted and finally my wifes filet.... this takes the cake
... a huge wait for it than not once not twice but 3 times it was sent back because each time it just wasnt cooked correctly and everything on the final plate tasted awful
I am a Mille Grazie member, and I received a nice email on 06/29/17 giving me buy one entrée, get one free (up to $25 with the purchase of 2 beverages) on July 3, 2017. So I made a reservation for me and Hubby for 3:30 pm. Upon arrival, the hostess was not very pleasant, she let it be known that they were unaware of the promotion, therefore understaffed. Futhermore, it wasn't supposed to start until 4 pm. (No where on the email was that disclosed). I asked if we should come back, I felt uncomfortable. She said "No, but the service may be slow". Now if I received the email on 06/29/17, surely they should have known! Anyway, Brittany was our server, and she was pleasant, efficient and yes, busy. But I enjoyed being there and the scallops were delicious. Just wish the greeting was more welcoming.
Three of us had an excellent meal--I tried the brick-fried chicken thighs, which were wonderful and I could only eat a third of the portion--it's tomorrow night's dinner. Always not only excellent but often there are interesting variations on standard neighborhood Italian.
We dine at Andiamo quite often but this was our first time to the Grosse Pointe location. We obviously love Andiamos food but this location does not meet the standards of the other locations. Only one person at our table enjoyed their meal. We did not want to ruin the evening by complaining since it was a birthday celebration. But I will not go back to this location again.
We enjoyed our dinner and the good service! We found the parking unacceptable and thought
there would be valet service. After parking the car, the walk to the restaurant was a bit difficult for us (we're in our late 70's) so we probably will not come to the restaurant if valet parking is not available. We haven't been to Andiamo for quite a while, congrats on how

My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and had an excellent evening. We had reservations and were seating immediately when we got there. Our waiter was AMAZING, very attentive, informative, and brought me 3 wines to taste test so that I could pick my favorite (just to buy a glass not a bottle). The food was really tasty and the Kit Kat for dessert was a perfect end to the meal. The piano was a little loud by the bar, but others seemed to really enjoy it, so can't really complain. The whole experience was lovely!
We had not visited this restaurant in quite awhile and were very happy to have gone back. The atmosphere is warm and attractive, the service is very good and the food was wonderful. We will definitely return soon! Each of the Andiamo restaurants have their unique personalities and this one feels like what it is...a charming neighborhood restaurant. It was packed, by the way, so be sure to make reservations!
This is second time very disappointed as waitress had no time for us. Yet manager just walked around humm salad Italian dressing had way to much on salad. We wanted more bread and was told it would be a couple of minutes as it was finish baking. I wanted more water for meds yet too busy. Spaghetti was ok never asked if we wanted anything else. Waited long time for bill yet never saw bread come from kitchen. Waitress had large party to look after so she should of explained that. Other time I had fettuccine with shrimp and the pasta was dry and cheesey like it sat too long under heat lam. Waitress said next tim ask for more sauce on the side. Really. Downtown riverfront is much better
Arrived and told them I had a reservation for 3 at 12:45pm. They did not see the reservation set up online through Open Table. It wasn't a problem though, since the restaurant was pretty empty (being the holidays, we thought there would have been more going on). Food was just so-so. Nothing special. We just returned from Rome a month before and the food there was 10 times better. I don't think we'll be returning here soon. In all, it wasn't excellent nor was it awful...just meh. Meh however, can be found all over...and for cheaper prices.
We were originally seated in an area that was too cold and they moved us without a problem to a warmer area of the restaurant. Very accommodating . The food was very good and the service was just right. Not too pushy but spot on when you needed her. They didn't rush us as we wanted to linger over dessert. The overall experience was wonderful as it always is!
