Its was a good experience overall. Just had to send one of the meals back because it was semi-cold. It was corrected and. We enjoyed our time there. Thanks
I use to be a server and I must say this was by far the most dispointed I have ever been in a restaurant. We told the server that it was are first time dining here and he did nothing to upsale or recommend anything. When I asked if they had any specialty drinks he said nothing and handed me a drink menu. Then when we ordered our food there was no recommendations. My husband had lasagna and I had the chicken with shrimp on top of it. Both no taste. My dish was sent back and replaced with chicken Masala.... Still no taste. I can find another restaurant to spend $130.00 at.
Ten of us gathered for a mini family reunion among cousins in the greater Detroit area. We have used Andiamo of Livonia several times in the past for these mini-reunions and they never disappoint. The food is excellent and the service is unsurpassed. It is great Italian dining.
Great food and wonderful service - live music coming into the dining room from the lounge area was a plus - great evening!
Service was confused (wait staff sharing the table and unsure of who should wait on us). Also took very long to receive the check. Food pretty ordinary tasting and in presentation -- and VERY salty. Portion of appetizer (calamari) much too large. Prices too high for a mediocre meal.
I wasn't pleased with the food selection at all. I never cared for this restaurant and probably will never go back.
Waiter did not introduce himself, he did not tell us his name, nor were we informed of the chefs special.
My wife and I attempted to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We started with the calamari, Caesar salad, and soup. We also had two jack and cokes 🤷🏼♂️. The wife ordered the chicken Marsala and I ordered the lobster ravioli and the shrimp appetizer.
Over a 100.00 tab, and 5.00 tip. I think I’ll try another location.. the downtown Detroit location is very nice being right off the water.
What has happened to Andiamos? The last time I dined at an Andiamos, I was at the Dearborn location, and the meal was excellent. This meal was sloppy and unappetizing. The appetizer we ordered was shrimp on crostini. The shrimp was fine, but there was so much sauce, the crostini underneath was inedible. We paid extra for a fourth shrimp, because naturally, there were only 3 in the order. The entrees we ordered were from the “special” menu, scallops with a butternut squash purée, pumpkin gnocchi and a vegetable mix. There were 3 scallops in this $30 entree. They were the highlight of the dish, which was otherwise a dish of slop. I picked around the vegetables because they were awful, coated in a lemon oil that absolutely clashed with the butternut purée. The plating was the worst. A narrow plate with the vegetables dumped onto the purée with scallops on top, but different plating wouldn’t have saved this dish.
My husband had the duck risotto. The duck was cooked okay, the skin was still flabby, so not rendered enough to be crispy. The most offensive part of the dish however, was the crunchy rice. Any chef that cannot cook risotto so the rice is creamy and tender should turn in their apron.
The dessert was at least decent, but it’s hard to screw up creme brûlée and pre-made cheesecake.
Sorry, Andiamos, you’re on the never again list.
Wine is way too expensive and place needs an over haul.
We went for the Lobster special which was very good but not excellent. Very nice service with pleasant surroundings.
Good food and delicious. The wait time was quite reasonable. Surprisingly, the price was also affordable and definitely we have second thoughts of coming back. Wish the first waitress would be more cheerful and keep a smile.
The live music was great.
Amazing food. Pricey, but worth it for the experience.
What a terrific experience.... from being greeted at the front door...to being able to be seated earlier than our reservation time. Outstanding Server (Jason) ... he paired everything perfect for us. As this was our first time at the Livonia location... they can definitely count on us returning.
I always come to this place, and I love it, However this last time was not so great, and it was embarrassing because the people that I brought here for work, had never been here before, the appetizer was not cooked, (the calamari) and the waitress didn't ever offer to bring another one or take it off the bill, (Sarah) and my coworker ordered a drink, and she didn't even say excuse me when her arm was in the way to put the drink down. Now when you're spending money at a nice place like this, you expect to have good service and good food, and also bringing coworkers who have never been here before , it left a bad taste in their mouth. We send a lot of people here, and thought it could've been better. The other manager Craig, would've taken it off the bill, or given us something for the aggravation.
The food was wonderful and our waitress was very attentive.
Very nice dining experience. Our waiter was excellent and food was delicious. The live band was a nice touch. Love their desserts especially the "tuxedo".
My wife and I had a wonderful meal. She had Veal Marsalla which was recomennded by our waiter Chris. She loved it. I had the Lobster Amore. Could not be any better.
Food and service was very good. ambiance was excellent as well. The server was very good allowing us time to take our order.
Good food at a reasonable price.
Great service. Food amazing as usual. Music was awesome!!!!! Thank you
I love this place and come here often. We had the lobster tail special, which was excellent and the New York strip.
Any choice of steak with the zip sauce is a good choice.
My steak this time was a bit tough and that's the first time that's happened. Based on past experience, I'll have to give them the benefit of the doubt this time.
As always a pleasure. Bartender Erica started ya off and Gary was out waiter and both were top notch.
We had a fabulous experience here. We went to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed the ambiance in both the dinning and bar area. We loved the live music, and even danced. The meal and drinks were delicious. We had fabulous service from all staff. The manager came to our table to ask how everything was, and was very friendly and attentive.
It was date night for us and I requested a table in a quiet, romantic area of the restaurant. However, when we arrived the hostess was taking us to what might have been the worst table in the restaurant! Interestingly, when I requested a different table, magically a wonderful date night type table was available in the area near the wine cabinets in the back of the restaurant. We wondered why we weren't taken there to begin with...? Hmmm. The remaining area of the restaurant is quite open and noisy, so if you're not with a group, ask for a seat in the back by the wine cabinets. Cozy, quiet and romantic.
Our flatbread and soups were delicious...fresh and hearty, very tasty. Wine and cocktails were also very satisfying. My salmon entree was prepared beautifully and the tortellini was delicious. Very good italian food here. Our server was also extraordinary. Made for a very nice dinner all things considered. Would return.
Love andiamo usually, however this time we has a horrible waiter named Chris that reeked of cigarette smoke everytime he came to our table. So much so I wanted to leave but my date talked me out of it. He was about the most inattentive server I have ever had but we were almost thankful because of the God awful stench. You can do better andiamo come on!!! We’ve been coming there for years but may have to go back to Fleming’s for a bit
I loved this location! I've eaten Andiamo a few times but this was the first at Livonia. The ambience was very cozy and romantic. Our server was amazing and brought out each course at the perfect time. His recommendations were on point, even when suggesting sauce substitutions for some of the dishes.
As a vegetarian there are several plant based items on the menu and I appreciate that. I enjoyed the seasonal risotto, delicious!
Medium well filet was crispy around edges and completely cooked to well done. Wife compared her fettuccine to Olive Garden at a fraction of cost. Poor experience due to food.
Great service and food. We will be back for sure. I did not know what else to say
We enjoyed the veal marsala and yummy desserts. Great service from Brittany... not obstrusive but warm and responsive when needed.
Valentines Day dinner. Server seemed out of it, like waiting on us was an effort. She could have been in a bad mood or just tired but I kind of expected better from this restaurant. Food was ok, not spectacular. Oh well - my time with my date made it better.
Easy to make a reservation. No wait. Service great. Chicken Valdostana and Chickrn fraangelico was very good if you like walnuts, very goof portion size. Looking forward to leftovers. Home made cannoli Also very good with capacino.
Food was disappointing, quite honestly. Not up to past experiences
Food was pretty good - not outstanding - and seemed overpriced. Wine was pricey too.
We met friends and enjoyed good food and service. The Hungarian peppers and sausage appetizer was outstanding. My husband had the veal, he, to was pleased. We stayed for nearly three hours. The waiter was great, kidding around with me (I'm a little finicky, I know it); but he left us alone far too soon. The weather was awful, so the restaurant wasn't full or we'd have vacated our table for the bar. I think the waiter could have made a much nicer tip had he continued to check on us. His loss. We had a great time and will probably go back.
Once again I was disappointed with the service. The server actually reached across my plate several times! Literally their arm was inches from my face. Our drink order was incorrect. We told the server and there was no apology or something like “let me get this fixed right away” the drinks were picked up and they walked away. It’s such a disappointment. The food is good.
Dan Mahan manages the property and does a great job! Very personalized experience and me and my family will continue to go there as long as Dan is managing!
Our waitress Becky was awesome and attentive!
Andiamo has a few locations, one of them in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas location is outstanding in every way. For example, they do a table-side Caesar salad. The kitchen produces amazing EVERYTHING. The wine list is endless. The wait staff wears white tuxedos.
Andiamo Livonia is NOT this sort of restaurant.
Andiamo Livonia is exceptionally mediocre.
The wine list appears to have some good wines by the glass, but after we, as a couple, tried four different $15 glasses, I was very disappointed. I know a little about wine and I would go so far as to question if they actually filled our glasses with the wine we ordered or if they substituted a much cheaper wine. Yes, I’m saying there’s the chance of fraud here.
The appetizer and main courses were pretty good, but nothing exceptional. My wife enjoyed everything more than I did.
Service was excellent. No complaints there.
The tuxedo cake was disappointing. The little decorative dots of whipped cream on the plate we’re especially alarming as they tasted strange and had a slippery, fake mouth feel. The only explanation is that the whipped cream was not real dairy but rather partially hydrogenated oils - Cool Whip. So if they have cheap, poisonous ingredients for the dessert, what else are they cheaping out on in the rest of the kitchen?
In summary, I don’t trust this location to feed me real food and consider it off my list of acceptable places to eat. I’ll go there with my eyes wide open knowing I’m paying TOP dollar for Applebee’s level food products.
Let’s hope the location in Detroit is more like the one in Vegas.
