It was a Saturday night and the waiter was busy waiting on too many tables . He was exhausted and kind of short with us . Despite that we gave him the benefit of the doubt because I work in retail and can see the signs of overworked individual who was slightly cranky too
The food here is very good and the place has an elegant atmosphere overall. However, the seating needs to be replaced. We were sat in a corner booth for four people and it was very dirty with stains and crumbs all over the booth. I think if they replaced the seating it would make it a much nicer place to dine, especially because the prices are on the high end so you expect a full elegant experience.
Meal was horrible. Resturaunt was not busy. My chicken came out burned. It was actually black on the underside, chef tried to hide it by placing it burned side down on plate. I could smell the burned breading. Server came over and took it back. When it finally came out it was only half burned. One chicken breast was properly cooked the other burned. Server was a little frustrated and sent manager over who only responded with send it back again! Really? Then proceeded to tell us she would do us the favor of taking that meal off the bill since I was only going to eat half the chicken. After this the server pretty much just ignored us. Never even said " I am really sorry about that". Not even a word when he dropped off the bill. Needless to say between the poor service and uncaring management we will not be going back to Andiamo Livonia. I wish I would have taken pictures of the burned chicken.
Service was extremely slow with very long lapses in between getting the orders placed and food delivered. Was expecting it to be a 1 hour lunch, and we were there for a little over 2 hours. Also, the food was somewhat lukewarm, so may have been sitting out for a while waiting to be picked up and brought to the table.
We were pleasantly surprised by Andiamo's in Livonia. The atmosphere was really nice considering most restaurants these days squeeze tables so close together that you can hear conversations next to you -- that wasn't the case at Andiamo's. And the food was also very good - I had the penne alfredo with salmon and it was excellent. And the portions seem to be just about right -- not too big. I would (and will) go back.
We have dined at this Andiamo's many times and are usually very pleased. This past Sunday, not so much. Our server's facial expressions gave us the feeling that she did not like us. Our veal picatta arrived lukewarm. However, both of the filets were done perfectly. We will certainly visit again and chalked up this past visit to the fact that there were a lot of large parties there celebrating the holidays.
Always a superior meal at this location, wonderful presentation and outstanding service.
Would like to see the portions a bit larger as a salad and meal don't measure up. We were fortunate to secure a booth for the two of us as the center dinning area was busy and loud at 6:30-7:30 on a Saturday night. The booths offer a very nice semi-private and quiet environment to talk.
The beer and bruschetta were very good, although $4 for a Bud Lite is ridiculous. My chicken frangelico was BLACK (as in burnt) on the bottom of both pieces, to the point I couldn't eat it, and the plain spaghetti that accompanied it was awful - it was cold and, well, plain. To top it off, I was on a date and was paying with 2 gifts cards ($50 total) and the rest cash. WHY the waiter felt it necessary to open up and explain the bill to me in front of my date, counting back the $3 in change, is beyond me. I was utterly embarrassed and mortified that he would do such a thing. Would he have done that if my date paid instead of me? I felt disrespected, condescended to and would not go back. I paid $80 for mediocre food and so-so service. One last note...it was very loud and busy - I was expecting a quiet dining experience and that was far from what I got. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Chris our main server was excellent, friendly prompt. The additional team servers worked well together and our every need in fine dining was met. This was the first time we tried Adiamo though I have heard positive reviews from others. I will come again Thankyou and have a Merry Christmas
Visited the Livonia restaurant with a group of friends. We had a wonderful time....great place for conversation, and our dining experience was fantastic! The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Our server, Carey, was outstanding! His attention to detail, charm, and professionalism did not go unnoticed. Thank you Carey & Andiamo's for another fine dining experience.
Same menu and food quality as the other Andiamos we have eaten at before (the one in the RenCen), ambiance was lower. All and all the dining experience would have been satisfactory but it was marred by an event which I find unacceptable.
While we were dining, a black sports car (turned out to be a Fisker Karma) pulled in front of the restaurant and sat for a while as the driver talked on his cell phone. Then he pulled into the handicapped parking spots by the door, parking over the blue hatching between two handicapped spots (and therefore, taking two spots). He had no placard and did not have a handicapped license plate. I spoke to our server about it, and he informed us that the car belonged to the owner of Andiamo.
I find this completely unacceptable and will never return to Andiamo Livonia, nor will I recommend it to others. I plan to publicize this occurrence on Yelp, Facebook, and anyplace else I can think of.
Great ambiance at this restaurant. Polite staff and an attentive server. The other guests all ordered pasta, while I ordered the salmon. I was disappointed in the overall taste of the salmon because of being slightly undercooked. My table mates all enjoyed their pasta dishes.
This place has been a roller coaster of good/ bad service and food quality for many years...
Craig one of the best managers this location has ever had, brought this place back form a total shut down to a neighborhood go to. My family and I have really been enjoying this place for the last year...until last night.
We were told my the current manager that Craig was sent to a new location and that he was the new manager to the Andiamo family. Unfortunately, he is showing no leadership.
Tonight I had the worst dining experience out of 40 years of going to restaurants. I questioned the portion size of my filet and the waitress just said the food is right and basically tried rushing our whole dining experience. We were never told of any specials and she kept trying to take plates from the table when we weren’t done.
So we then Pulled the manager over and he agreed the steak was small. He asked if he may take the steak back to the kitchen, and assuming he would give me a larger portion, I agreed. He took the food back to the kitchen And our waitress was seen cutting him off telling him the food is correct. He returned after FIVE minutes with the same plate of food, put it back in front of us and said- chef says its good and that they are all weighed. Then he says: I’m just as disappointed as you are. I can’t believe it. And then did NOTHING. So there my small size speak sat in front of me. The one he agreed was small and had me convinced he was going to do something about. Just now, it was a little colder.
To make it worse, our waitress just came by and said “ sorry about that”.
I waited on tables for a long time in the past. Even in that building back when it was Cooker. Perhaps service standards have changed. We weren’t looking for a free meal and anything free. Just the portion that we paid for. I would have been totally happy with 3-4 more ounces of filet.
The food is still good (for now) but the service was extremely disappointing.
It didn't look like the pictures on the website...Wasn't as pretty. The menu was just a laminated paper, that didn't have any pictures of the dishes, so when I ordered an appetizer, I didn't eat it--not anything I would have ordered. Service was good, but it just didn't feel homey.
Food was ok. Pork chop came out way too rare. Had to be sent back. It was served on top of a bowl of risotto which made it difficult to cut.
A vegetarian in our party ordered the asparagus ravioli which was plated artistically on a long rectangle plate. Unfortunately, the plate was very messy and difficult to eat.
