I’m torn on how I truly feel about Anderson Reserve. The building, decor, and ambience were beautiful. The gal who served us was friendly and professional. However, our server seemed to have too many tables, she was a bit forgetful on items we ordered. Our appetizer was delicious, the charcuterie board. The steak was tasty. Unfortunately, for $50 for our entree I would’ve liked more than 3 spears of asparagus and a small dollop of mashed potatoes as my sides. I will give it another chance, mainly to support a local business.

We enjoyed driving from Boise to the location. Our server was very helpful and polite. Our companion felt his steak was too rare but did not want to send it back. Some people hate to ask, I guess.
They were out of our choice of appetizer- the dates. Would have loved to try it. The Halloumi cheese is wonderful.

We had been looking forward to this night for weeks and had such high expectations. Sadly, we were disappointed . First of all, there are no traditional tables, just glass topped wine barrels with hard, wood barstools . Strange for a fine dining restaurant that you are spending a good 1.5/2 hrs at as they were uncomfortable and awkward to eat at . The staff member that brought us our waters touched the rim of all the glasses as he was setting them down on the table-even in pre-pandemic times this would have been odd. We ordered two bone marrow apps-Yummy tomato-y sauce under the bones, but most of the bones were fat . My husband ordered the wedge salad with tenderloin steak as his entree and it was basically a whole head of Iceberg, cut into wedges. The salad was not dressed , no eggs, tomatos, red onion but a small amount of cheese under the lettuce. there was a very very small pile of steak cut into strips that honestly looked unappetizingly dry. To top it off the plate was the size of the appetizer plate and it was impossible for him to eat without lettuce going everywhere on the table. I chose the lobster bisque with my dinner, Flavor was good, but so salty I could not finish it-everyone at my table agreed. I ordered the filet with prawns ($48) which I was unimpressed with. The filet itself was tasty and tender (medium rare)however there was no seasoning on it and it did not come with the promised candied bacon or crispy onions. What was really horrible was the asparagus that was on the plate. It was so overcooked it was just wilted brown/green pieces of asparagus. There was also a corn mixture with some dried out sausage which was bad. The “prawns” were insulting , two tiny shrimp just laid on the plate. Again, the plate it was served on was way too small, making it hard to eat. The people we were with ordered the cowboy cut and the T-bone again, the meat itself was good, but everything else was bad. We won’t be back .

Anderson Reserve was everything we hoped it would be. Beautiful exterior and interior. The food was amazing, the service was great. We were there when they had live music. It was well worth the drive from Meridian and we will for sure be back. Only complaint I have is about the Filet and Prawns- I didn’t expect to see two tiny shrimps on my plate. That was a let down unfortunately.

This is a gorgeous place, the patio had beautiful scenery. The service and food was excellent. We had a wonderful girls lunch and can't wait to take our husbands back!

Great food. I had the Portabella mushrooms And shared the filet with my husband. Both were perfectly done and great tasting. The music was very good, a solo Acoustic guitarist who played popular Tunes.

Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience here and were so looking forward to it.
The property and venue itself is nothing short of stunning. The atmosphere is amazing!
Service: the host (part owner of the restaurant) was the sweetest person and so very accommodating.
Unfortunately, it took exactly 30 minutes after being seated to order our wine and then another 30 minutes (one hour total) to order our food.
We had originally been sat at one of the fireplace tables outside but were told we could move to a shaded table once someone had left. When that happened about 15 mins after arriving, Franey (host/owner) Kindly ushered us over to a new shaded table. Moments after doing so, a tall blonde server was so thrown by it that she proceeded to tell us “they had a system” and was highly flustered by the move even though we were moved by the hostess herself. She was so thrown off and told us she “needed to get organized” and then avoided us the entire rest of the 3 hour long brunch. My wife and I got the impression it may have been because we are a gay couple and she didn’t want to serve us. We genuinely hope this was not the case but would not be one but surprised to learn it was a matter of discrimination.
It was after that, we were given a different server.
Food: it’s a prefix for brunch which we were excited about based on the menu. The appetizer came out first and it was stale, chewy bread, rubbery cheese and strawberries.
2nd course we both had to send back as my steak was completely raw (ordered medium) and every single thing was stone cold
Came back 2nd time to it also being just as cold
The third course was a French Toast - also cold. My wife didn’t even eat hers.

My wife is a sommelier in the industry and we partake in fine dining multiple times per month and to be called fine dining at Anderson, it’s just not cutting it. We wish so so badly this would be our go-to fine dining in Boise area.

We hope it improves.

Wow. It was a beautiful night. Excellent food and atmosphere! I will definitely be back many more time. Thank you it was a top 10 experience and I would highly recommend Anderson Reserve. We bought glasses to take home and remember the occasion.

The food was fantastic and our server, JC, was lovely! The service did seem slightly slow at times but we were there for our anniversary dinner so we weren't in a rush. Definitely worth the pretty drive and the chance to get out of town for a little bit. Took the opportunity to sit on the patio and finish our drinks once we finished our meal. Purchased a couple of items from their little shop and took home a few cookies too! Their menu rotates weekly so we will for sure find an excuse to go back soon. Highly recommend!

The seating was not good. First sat us at a high pub table which was not comfortable so we asked to move. They have very limited table/chairs and the table we sat at was right in high traffic area. Food was good but not exceptional for the price considering the drive to get there is over 40 minutes.

Amazing meats! But that is all. Sides consisted of 4asparagus spears & a slice of pepper. So at $50+a plate Keep in mind you are only buying the meat. We were asked separately if we wanted bread- they brought 2 rolls. Cheese board is so much cheese... but no fruits or crackers to go with it. Lobster bisque was very fishy tasting. Although beautiful building & views.

The food was wonderful, best beef ever. Service , outstanding. Our only complaint would be the seating is Bistro Style, we are seniors and the tall chairs became tiresome.Nest time we come, we will ask for seating by the fireplace, the table and chairs are at normal height. Will definitely dine again at Anderson Reserve.

I ordered prime rib, wife ordered the fillet....I ordered medium, she ordered medium well. Both were undercooked, mine was rare. The salad and wine came quickly after ordering even though the place seemed full. But the main dish was brought right after. We didn’t have time to finish the salad, as well as the meat being undercooked, it got cold before we finished the salad. The server was very nice, but for a meal this pricey, I think she needs to have a better level of training as well as the cook. I am sure it will improve with time and we will try again as the meat itself is very good and the portions are large.

Our afternoon at Anderson's Reserve was one of the most pleasant we have ever spent! And the meal was exceptional! This is a wonderful establishment in the middle of nowhere, which added to it's quiet charm. We also enjoyed visiting with several staff members and even the owner! We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience!

Good, but not great. For a steak place, the meat is served over cooked...my prime rib (I like rare) menu said cooked to medium rare, was closer to medium well for $48. Some tables got bread, some didn’t. Great views, lovely venue, had a live entertainer/singer. With some attention to detail for fine dining...could become great.
