We usually go to Ancora in False Creek and this was our first time at the Ambleside location. Covid protocol and all was great. and We’re happy to say we will definitely go back!
Another wonderful meal with great service! Best in the North Shore!!
Amazing food !! Love the sushi pizza so yummy :) perfect service, fantastic everything !! definitely best restaurant in west van 👏👏
The experience was better than I could have imagined. Rosti (sp?) the waiter took VERY good care of us and the chef is genius. Thank you!!! Rob
Crab cake and sablefish tasted like potato patties. Ebi supposedly be Japanese sweet prawns. However it is simply some cooked prawns.
Server was rude and unfriendly. Had to request to clear the table. We didn't request for the bill. She just left the bill on the table and walked away. I thought other table's bill came with some candies.
Excellent food and attentive knowledgeable servers. Loved it!
Birthday dinner! Was the best dinner in years.
Great good and service.
Poor service with poor attitude. Manager made aware but no provision or improvements made.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Best restaurant in West Vancouver and probably on the North Shore.
Imaginitave and subtle well matched flavors
Our waiter was absolutely amazing. We were never left for long but yet he wasn’t ever hovering. The food was great and the recommendations were also fantastic. Overall a great experience with good food, good service, and good ambiance.
Would recommend and will go back.
Jessica - our server - was the perfect combination of engagement and professionalism. The food was a match of subtle flavours layered with a deft hand.
We liked it - the service was a bit slow, but good; the food, while hardly bearing a resemblance to anything Peruvian, was very good; nice atmosphere. But, very expensive, especially for what you get. For example, my wife had a non-alcoholic drink (I forget the name) that came in a small glass filled with ice. Being liberal, I'd say that there was four ounces of juice with a slice of ginger and a sprig of mint for $9. We had a mixed plate of oysters, mussels, prawns, ceviche, and causa (sort of) that was barely an appetizer for one, let alone a dinner for two for $75. I really don't much care what things cost, but do like some value. While I liked the place, the value/price ratio wasn't there. We literally came home and made a sandwich.
I was surprised to wait for so long outside when we had a reservation. Yet the staff & experience was great once inside. Food (Ling cod) was a bit saltier than needed. Both our waitress & sommelier were charming & knowledgeable.
Love Anchora! We especially loved the tuna pizza and your specialty cocktails.
First time visit to Ancora. Atmosphere is very nice, food was great, but sommelier service from Michael was exceptional. He was very welcoming to begin with, friendly, and definitely knows his wines. Perfect pairing for the delicious food coming out of the kitchen. We will definitely be back on a regular basis.
Service was wonderful door to door.
Menu has been reduced due to covid and dine out promotion so was a little disappointed with no sea urchin, however the sable (black cod) as well as the ling cod were excellent.
Chef accepted requests as well.
Full house, modified seating of course.
It was a good evening. All aspects were good. The wines by the glass were a little pricy
The waitress serving our table left the restaurant. No new service assigned to our table until we asked.
Awesome « chic » place ! The food was really good and the wine too ! In front of the sea I would really recommande this place.
Absolutely amazing food, which is a fusion of West Coast, South American and Japanese elements. The dining area is quiet, spacious, and modernly decorates. Service is impeccable, and Pisco Sour is a must.
Great quality food, a memorable experience................
Much, much better bar than is normal for Vancouver.
Went for a dine out menu. Put in a request to have me sitting in the corner with view and it was followed through. I had the yam and coconut soup, lingcod and the matcha dessert. I must say i absolutely loved the lingcod as it was done perfectly. The soup was good as well. The dessert had just the right amount of bitterness and sweetness to it, and it was not heavy as well. My husband paid a bit extra for the tuna tataki ($3), the yuzu flavour was very nice and portion size was good. He also went with the 5oz ribeye ($6) and asked for middle rare, however it was a bit undercooked making it somewhat hard to chew, but the veggies and mash potato was very good. He also had the matcha dessert and enjoyed it equally well.
Very nice meal and service at Dine Out. We had the fish and rib steak entrees and the fish was excellent; however the steak was a little tough. When my husband gave feedback the server was nice enough to remove one glass of wine from our bill. Our first time at Ancora and the separation from others vis a vis COVID was very appropriate.
Food and service were great. Why do some fine dining restaurants play inappropriate music at high volume? It totally ruins the fine dining experience.
Food is creative and delicious
Great service. Good food. Amazing views would recommend
Great food. Dine out superb. Menu choices top notch. Wine list extensive with good choices. Wonderful that the chef came out to meet us.
Once again a great dining experience... probably the best restaurant on the North Shore!
Second experience - absolutely beautiful food, great service, and fabulous ambience.
Great place for our anniversary dinner.
The food looked beautiful and tasted delicious.
My wife picked the perfect wine (burrowing owl pinot gris) for our meal.
Thank you for a wonderful time.
A little disappointed that the view of the Burrard inlet was far away from our seat.
Will definitely go back again.
We went during dine out Vancouver and it was wonderful!
Ordered same food as previous week. Soup was flavorless and the Lingcod presentation and taste did not seem as delightful.
Great place, our favorite, fine good, supper service and pleasant ambiance, not to mention incredible location and superb view.
The food was amazing. The manager was warm welcoming our group. The server was very friendly. The restaurant atmosphere was so great sitting by the window and looking at the view of the ocean. It was great experience.
Everything was perfect. The service, the food and the ambience all came together for an unforgettable night.
