About
When Head Chef Luca Cabras and managers Fabrizio Pellizzon and Maurizio Salierno visited Inwood for the first time, they saw the potential of a top quality Italian restaurant in the neighborhood, owned and managed by restaurateurs born and raised in Italy with authentic Italian recipes.
Strong of their 20+ years of experience in the restaurant business and the success of their first establishment in Hamilton Heights (Anchor Wine Bar) Luca, Fabrizio and Maurizio decided to replicate the experience in Inwood and quickly gained appreciation and support within the community.

The food is absolutely excellent for anything north of 125.
I am sad to write this negative review. When it first opened several years ago, Anchor Heights was one of the view grown-up restaurants one could go to to enjoy a quiet, quality Italian meal in Inwood. We expected the same yesterday evening when we arrived for our 6:15PM reservation; however, when we entered on this hot evening (90 degrees) 1) there was no air conditioning; 2) the music was raucously loud; and 3) we were seated near diners with noisy, squirming children. In short, the grown-up ambience was gone. It seems that the owners have decided to follow the practices of other Inwood restaurants, alas. Why is this a problem? Well, if you are going to sit down in the attempt to enjoy a $26 sea bass entrée (which they do prepare very well), then one should at least have the opportunity to do this within an appropriate ambiance. So, rather than subject ourselves to unappealing surroundings, my wife and I left the restaurant to find a different venue. If one doesn't mind eating high price and quality Italian food in yet another noisy Inwood setting, then feel free to patronize Anchor Heights. My wife and I, however, will forgo this dubious experience going forward. Sorry Anchor Heights...just not the place for us anymore. If we want another noisy Italian restaurant we'll go to Arthur Avenue.
I love this place and go as often as I can. The food is delicious and the sangria is the best I've had. I was
there this Sunday and was disappointed with the music it was loud and the kind of club music you hear at a bar. I'm use to going and being able to hear the person or people I'm having dinner with. I hope they do not turn into all the other places around here who have music that's too loud and hooksas. I love their food and would hate to see this place change.
There was an infestation of bugs that came out of the wood floors of the restaurant. We (and several other tables) had to get our bill and leave before our food arrived. The staff was very nice and was trying to deal with the bugs as fast as possible, but sufficed to say, we had all lost our appetite. The waiter shared that this has happened before.
Thanks guys! We really enjoyed the food and the service!
Service was great. Staff was very attentive and food tasted great.
The food was amazing as always. Love the atmosphere. The restaurant has the feel of dining among friends. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely lovely evening at Anchor Heights. Great vibe, outstanding service by Sam. We were initially a little disappointed that our fave chef Lucca was no longer there, but everything we ordered (apps, specials of the day) was superb. And the wine selections were great. Well worth the long spur of the moment trek from Staten Island; made us wish we lived near by so it could be our local hang.
FANTASTIC Restaurant! I cannot wait to return!!
Great service and authentic Italian cuisine.
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the service was lovely.
Restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. Food was just ok but definitely overpriced. Service was good as well as the atmosphere. Parking in the area is close to impossible. If you live in the area it might get be a decent place to go but do not travel there.
Continues to prove itself as a valuable restaurant addition to the neighborhood. Now our most reliably great meal in Inwood!
decent food, service and prices. NOthing special, but for a bite to eat in this neighborhood, it is good
This is a terrific restaurant. The food is very good from the appetizers to the main courses. Service is excellent and the ambiance is lovely. Never disappointing and there is something for everyone. I have been there with anywhere from 2-8 people and have gotten very positive feedback from the folks we've invited to join us there.
We love eating here - the food is like an elevated version of homemade, with the finest ingredients assembled with warmth and care. Very friendly atmosphere, too!
Great addition to the neighborhood. By far the best steak I had had in the area
Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
The service was excellent. Drinks and appetizer were amazing. The main courses were not good at all. We couldn’t even finish them.
By far my favorite place to take out of towners!
Quite a mixed bag, but I would definitely recommend dining here.
The owner/manager, Fabrizio, is charming, friendly, accommodating and understanding.
We had some issues with reservation, expectations, etc., but not worth mentioning because Fabrizio corrected all effortlessness and with a smile. No experience is perfect, but because he was so helpful, the night was a wonderful delight and we will be returning. You really cannot make a bad choice on the menu, all is delicious and beautifully presented.
I always like the food and the service. It has a nice setting although some costumers are too loud.
Great food and hidden gem in Inwood. If I lived in the area, I’d be there one a week. Parking is not available there.
Best Italian food in upper Manhattan, by a lot!
Another excellent meal at Anchor. Everything about the dining experience is noteworthy. Among the nicest restaurants in our ever growing neighborhood's coming alive and becoming a destination. Hopefully we can keep it quite so we can enjoy some very fine things, just for us? NOT! It's NYC, so fingers crossed Anchor thrives for a long time. Excellent dinner.
Little nice Italian restaurant , great cuisine good value !!
Friendly staff!! If you are around this area you should try it. They have happy hour too
The food is delicious.
Great food and service as always
We just went with a group of 6 and had a terrific time. The food was delicious and the service great. We enjoyed the fried artichoke appetizer, mediterranean salad and the burrata w/ prosciutto and arugula were perfect starters to share. We each had a different entree and everyone was very happy. dessert was fun too. Nice wine and beer selection. Definitely worth the trip uptown.
Staff as well as management bent over backwards to accommodate our party of five. Fabrizio took special care of us and made sure that rabbit was on the menu for me. All of us were extremely pleased with our varied antipasti and main dishes. The Anchor Heights experience contributes a unique quality to Inwood.
Mille grazie!
Anchor Heights is a fantastic and long needed addition to our northern Manhattan neighborhood. No need to head downtown to enjoy great Italian food in a contemporary and cozy setting. I have enjoyed five meals there now and all have been very good. Pasta is perfectly al dente and the sauces are authentic - a favorite is the Cavatelli with sausage and peppers. I have dined with others who have loved their fish entrees as well. There is a good selection of antipasti and salads, and the mussels and veal meatballs are standouts. The restaurant has an excellent wine list, too. Go! Enjoy! And thank the owner for bringing Anchor Heights to Inwood! Bravo e grazie mille!
First time customer with a group a four. Great service, friendly staff and owner. Excellent food and a great bottle of wine. Definitely recommend you try it out. It's not cheap but I think its worth it.
Great hidden gem, definitely going to be returning.
