This was a great place to get to know a new colleague. The ambiance was perfect for getting to know one another.
We had a bit of difficulty getting our food - but it was really good. Bread pudding w caramel and apple crisp that tasted home made. The lobster rolls looked great. We ate five appetizers and all were good. It is a loud place but it is not bothersome. Bar is active before dinner opens.
The restaurant was full on a rainy night which is a good sign. Was recommended to me by a person who eats out a good bit -
We waited almost an hour and a half for our lunch. Food was fair but kitchen was a mess.
The food was ok, not great, but the main reason we didn’t enjoy The Hope and Anchor was because it was very cold in there. Eventually we put our coats on while finishing our meal.
Great staff, relaxed atmosphere and great food and beer!
Excellent service and food- perfect for business lunch- easy and affordable parking garage 2 minute walk
This is a fun, lively restaurant and caters to the business crowd. You definitely need to make a reservation for lunch. I like the fact that they serve lobster rolls and crab rolls which are not common in restaurants. The rolls are delicious; however, I feel $28-29 is too expensive for what you get. Portions are adequate but not huge.
Service was a mess. Sat down and a waiter didn’t come to the table for 10 minutes. Food was decent.
We went here for NYE dinner. We were early and was able to be seated quickly. That was nice. Upon seating we were greeted and given menus. My wife and I were on the search for some great cocktails since it was NYE. That is when the dinner turned...Anchor and Hope only serve beer and wine.?!? You guys, this can’t be real... it’s 2018 Now and you don’t serve liquor? The entrees were 4-5 choices only. 2 of the 5 were lobster/crab rolls. I ordered the lobster roll. Very good. My wife ordered the hangar steak which worded it was with sweet potatoes. The steak was tender and good to go, but the purée under the steak didn’t taste like sweet potatoes so we asked the server to find out what it was.... she never came back with an answer. That is part of the upper $ dining experience. If you ask the server to find out something he/she should have the courtesy to find out or send someone over to answer a few questions. Lame. Overall I would go back for some beers and rolls and not stray away from that.
A great dinner on NYE. A shame that the only cocktails available were wine/ beer based and the menu was limited. Still, the food we did eat was tasty and beautifully presented. Easy location to find and great Ambience.
