Good food, quick service, friendly atmosphere. Spice level is conservative. Our table had the red lentil soup, Turkish salad, beef dumplings in yoghurt sauce (in photo), sauteed lamb, moussaka, hummus, baba ganouji, and rice pudding. I've listed the dishes in order of most favored to average. Portions are generous; split/share would be a good plan.

Five of us were gathering for a birthday celebration. We sat outside on a lovely evening. Waiter was very attentive and responsive. He moved the umbrella on another table to alleviate the bright setting sun in our eyes.

Cocktails were very tasty. Food was excellent. We had a great time and made our 7:20 movie nearby.

This is really a gem of a restaurant. Have dined many times and was never dissatisfied. Good cocktails, try the Gumlet, but the food is the real star. My favorites are the combo appetizer, manti and Alexander’s Favorite.

This is a very welcoming place and the food is reliably good. This most-recent time the lamb kabobs were overdone and dry but everything else was a pleasure. Outdoor seating is ample with good table spacing. Prices, although considerably higher than when it first opened, are reasonable.

My wife and I went the Anatolian Restaurant to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We chose the Anatolian because we were looking for Turkish food similar to what we had experienced in Istanbul I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed! It was a perfect sunny day so we sat at the outside tables much like in our travels to Europe. The food was great and authentic! My favorite was the mousakka, highly recommended!

We will definitely be going back!

Fresh ingredients that were well prepared and delicious. Curbside sidewalk table seating was okay except for cars parked inches from you. Nonetheless, it's nice to sit outside on a sunny day. The dining room was very nice. Service was wonderful. A return visit is in order.

The best part of this restaurant is sitting outside on a warm summer evening - and I would go here just for this reason. The whole fish (sea bass) was very good, and the best dish we ordered - and if you don't like carbs, there aren't any. The dumplings were sad and boring, barely in meat inside. Gyros tasty but nothing special. Chicken overcooked.

This restaurant was featured on KQED's 'Check Please Bay Area'. As it was local, my wife and I decided to try it for lunch. We were seated immediately and outside (our preference). The server was with us at once. As we are not as familiar with Mediterranean cuisine our choices off the menu were somewhat (perhaps artificially) limited. I settled on the skewered ribeye which was exceptionally tender and the French fries a very light delight. My wife had a wrap which was good though unremarkable (I had the other half for lunch the next day).

The Baklava dessert as recommended on 'Check Please' was indeed to die for and capped a very nice mid-week lunch. We will likely try again.

The food was fabulous! If you are a fan of moussaka, you must go here and eat it. Delicious! Staff was wonderful. Enjoyed our evening there. Lots of delicious choices. We went family style to be able to taste as many dishes as possible. No disappointments. Love this restaurant!

Very enjoyable evening at Anatolian Kitchen. I'm a mediterranean food lover and this was great because it was different flavors than I've had at other restaurants. Great spot to try something new - excellent experience at reasonable prices.

Anotolian Kitchen has a very good selection of Turkish dishes, and everyone was pleased with their entrees. Mine was Iksender, and the meet was tasty, and even more so with the tomato sauce and yogurt.

I have been on a quest to find manti as good as what I experienced in Istanbul. This is the closest I've come. The pasta was perfectly tender, the filling (we had beef) was good and high quality, and the yogurt on top was appropriately tangy. We also enjoyed the okra "casserole" which was mostly okra in a light, well seasoned broth cooked in a clay dish with a crispy crust on top. Very good. And we enjoyed the meze platter for 2 - especially the baba ghanoush which was deliciously smoky and obviously fresh. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in Palo Alto.

The waiter tried his best not to take the OpenTable gift card.
He demanded that I print the coupon, but when I asked if I can email them instead, he seemed pretty bothered. In the end, he ended up just taking my gift card number.
He could have done that from the beginning.
I don't appreciate business that try to trick customers.

The food is expensive for what you get for lunch. 17 dollars for a mediocre kebab plate.

The restaurant doesn't have a powerful cooling unit. It was very hot outside and our table was in front of the kitchen. Almost everyone at our table was sweating... The problem is that we had parents with us that are old and cannot take heat well. This basically ruined our lunch experience. I've been to Turkey and I love turkish food. I would say that the quality of the food this restaurant serves is fair at best. On the positive side, the staff was very nice and polite and they were able to accommodate our large party (13 people) with a very short notice.

The Mediterranean sea bass was excellent, but other dishes were disappointing. The mixed grill (assorted kebabs) was dry and overcooked, and the pilaf, vegetables, and appetizers were nothing special. It was pleasant dining at a sidewalk table. The servers were friendly and competent, but overall probably not worth a second visit.

I love the casual and relaxed feel this restaurant offers. For starters we had the Falafel Plate appetizer (tasty). Main dishes were the Karniyarik(very good), Lamb Shish Kebab (delicious), Sultan's Favorite (very good) and the Ribeye Shish (very good). For dessert we shared the Kunefe. We all enjoyed our choices and dining experience. Service was well-timed and friendly. I look forward to our next visit and have recommended this restaurant to family and friends.

I was in the same restaurant a couple of years ago with colleagues, and everyone liked it. Since that time the Anatolian Kitchen improved a lot: large variety of home-style food, extremely good and a friendly service, nice selection of music, cleanliness, and Turkish decor. We liked it a lot!

Was hoping to love the food but found my entree, their signature dish, the Alexander, with lamb that tasted gritty and sauce that was flavorless and heavy. Great locale and lovely staff but I won't be back.

Four us met for happy hour followed by dinner to celebrate a friend's brithday. The food was excellent, and the happy hour menu is a great way to start of the evening. We will be back for sure, also the heaters over outside seating are fantastic. Kept us nice and warm even though it was a bit chilly. Recommend making a reservation, we were there on a weeknight, we arrived early but it was quite busy later on.
