Anatolian is my favorite Palo Alto restaurant. Consistently great food and service. The ambiance is calm and relaxing and everyone (including the wait staff) seem to be happy to be there. I would give it 6 stars if I could!
We celebrated our anniversary and was so pleased with EVERYTHING about the restaurant - HIGHLY recommend!
Definitely try the mixed appetizer plate for an introduction to the tastes of Turkish cuisine. The manti [tiny dumplings] were excellent. Mixed drinks not as good as a real bar...and watery. Rainy day so everyone was inside and it was too noisy to converse comfortably.
Tastes of Turkey await you when dining at Anatolian kitchen.
The food was Çok Nefis (delicious) and the service was excellent. They thoughtfully surprised our daughter with a candle and ice cream for her birthday.
While indoors was a bit noisy, there are tables outside along the quiet street which are perfect for mild Palo Alto evenings.
One of our go - to restaurants in Palo Alto. Always enjoyable with superb Turkish food.
Great and tasty!
The lamb shank with orzo was exceptional-tender shank, flavorful and light marinara sauce , and orzo was a great complement. Veggie manti was great, the dumplings were tender, flavors were subtle and the yogurt sauce was yummy. Chicken shish kebab was overcooked and dry. One of us loved the Sigara boregi (filo stuffed with feta), the rest of us found the feta too strong. I like feta in salads etc., but as a main ingredient it was quite intense. The restaurant is small. We were seated at one of the dining tables at the end of the bar area. A large party was seated next to us, and they were quite noisy. The kitchen service was a little slow, but we were there on a Saturday night at prime time. Wait staff was friendly and the right balance of attentive but not hovering.
Warm-hearted, non-obtrusive but at the same time efficient service. Excellent lamb shish. Good value for Palo Alto.
What a gem!! The meat (special) is super flavorful. The sauces are incredible, and the meat is soo well prepared.
I am definitely going back. We are there at 3pm on a Tuesday, and we're the only ones. I'm sure it's more full and lively at prime times.
Go for it! You won't regret it! 👍👍👍👍👍
Great food and great prices. Great drinks as well!
Friendly staff, absolutely delicious food. My first time there and will definitely return.
The food was good but our appetizer was a little cold when we got it. Would have been better if it was warm. Food was tasty. The service felt a little hurried
'Alexander's Favorite' is amazing; and, although this is going to sound really strange, so are the fries :) The service was great and they were kind enough to let us share this traditional dessert that we brought with us which is specific in our culture for the occasion we were celebrating.
Very good food. The veggie manti was awesome. A little pricey however
Always enjoy dinning here. Food and service is very good.
Great food and great service! Do try the appetizers.
Delicious food reasonable prices. For a great authentic Turkish cuisine
The baked whole fish was good, but it had too many bones to pick through. I don't like to work hard to eat a meal.
Enjoyed a delicious pre-Christmas lunch, followed by outstanding coffee.
The place has reasonable food but very tight seating and cramped area. We had loud neighbors and the experience was very painful.
Pretty small and noisy, but cozy inside. Thought the food was mediocre--goat cheese appetizer was very salty; another dish--Anatolian dumplings was a plate full of really tiny dumplings, the size of mini scallops, and smothered in yogurt--had to send it back. Very unappetizing and couldn't taste the beef filling, and the yogurt was way too much. The menu said the dumplings were served with yogurt--this wasn't "with" but "under". Beef & lamb skewers with rice were tasty, but the vegetables were just ordinary. Overall disappointed as the restaurant is popular and always full.
Best Turkish food in Silicon Valley!
Good food, quick service, friendly atmosphere. Spice level is conservative. Our table had the red lentil soup, Turkish salad, beef dumplings in yoghurt sauce (in photo), sauteed lamb, moussaka, hummus, baba ganouji, and rice pudding. I've listed the dishes in order of most favored to average. Portions are generous; split/share would be a good plan.
Late lunch with friends was delightful. Food was delicious and wait staff was very attentive.
Delicious Turkish/Mediterranean food; efficient and very friendly service, with reasonable prices.
Five of us were gathering for a birthday celebration. We sat outside on a lovely evening. Waiter was very attentive and responsive. He moved the umbrella on another table to alleviate the bright setting sun in our eyes.
Cocktails were very tasty. Food was excellent. We had a great time and made our 7:20 movie nearby.
This is really a gem of a restaurant. Have dined many times and was never dissatisfied. Good cocktails, try the Gumlet, but the food is the real star. My favorites are the combo appetizer, manti and Alexander’s Favorite.
very friendly staff, good recommendations, allowed us to relax with desert and not feel rushed to get out. lots of good options on the menu , looking forward to trying some other dishes on my next visit.
This is a very welcoming place and the food is reliably good. This most-recent time the lamb kabobs were overdone and dry but everything else was a pleasure. Outdoor seating is ample with good table spacing. Prices, although considerably higher than when it first opened, are reasonable.
My wife and I went the Anatolian Restaurant to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We chose the Anatolian because we were looking for Turkish food similar to what we had experienced in Istanbul I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed! It was a perfect sunny day so we sat at the outside tables much like in our travels to Europe. The food was great and authentic! My favorite was the mousakka, highly recommended!
We will definitely be going back!
Fresh ingredients that were well prepared and delicious. Curbside sidewalk table seating was okay except for cars parked inches from you. Nonetheless, it's nice to sit outside on a sunny day. The dining room was very nice. Service was wonderful. A return visit is in order.
Enjoyed our meal. Got the mixed grill. Chicken was tender a great flavor
The best part of this restaurant is sitting outside on a warm summer evening - and I would go here just for this reason. The whole fish (sea bass) was very good, and the best dish we ordered - and if you don't like carbs, there aren't any. The dumplings were sad and boring, barely in meat inside. Gyros tasty but nothing special. Chicken overcooked.
This restaurant was featured on KQED's 'Check Please Bay Area'. As it was local, my wife and I decided to try it for lunch. We were seated immediately and outside (our preference). The server was with us at once. As we are not as familiar with Mediterranean cuisine our choices off the menu were somewhat (perhaps artificially) limited. I settled on the skewered ribeye which was exceptionally tender and the French fries a very light delight. My wife had a wrap which was good though unremarkable (I had the other half for lunch the next day).
The Baklava dessert as recommended on 'Check Please' was indeed to die for and capped a very nice mid-week lunch. We will likely try again.
The food was fabulous! If you are a fan of moussaka, you must go here and eat it. Delicious! Staff was wonderful. Enjoyed our evening there. Lots of delicious choices. We went family style to be able to taste as many dishes as possible. No disappointments. Love this restaurant!
Very enjoyable evening at Anatolian Kitchen. I'm a mediterranean food lover and this was great because it was different flavors than I've had at other restaurants. Great spot to try something new - excellent experience at reasonable prices.
Anotolian Kitchen has a very good selection of Turkish dishes, and everyone was pleased with their entrees. Mine was Iksender, and the meet was tasty, and even more so with the tomato sauce and yogurt.
I've been to Anatolian Kitchen several times before, for dates, meeting friends, and book club. The food is always amazing, the staff is friendly and it's easy to make reservations.
Went here for lunch. The wraps are generous in size and reasonably priced. The service was very good as well.
I have been on a quest to find manti as good as what I experienced in Istanbul. This is the closest I've come. The pasta was perfectly tender, the filling (we had beef) was good and high quality, and the yogurt on top was appropriately tangy. We also enjoyed the okra "casserole" which was mostly okra in a light, well seasoned broth cooked in a clay dish with a crispy crust on top. Very good. And we enjoyed the meze platter for 2 - especially the baba ghanoush which was deliciously smoky and obviously fresh. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in Palo Alto.
