The service and food was fantastic in June of 2019. Unfortunately the lamb was chewy and stringy this time. They let us know that was "the batch" and they wouldn't be able to change it. To replace it we got a salmon souvlaki skewer which was amazing. It didn't resolve the overall experience but definitely made it a little better. They also have no gluten free or dairy free alternatives making it impossible to enjoy a coffee and/or dessert.
Absolutely would recommend...has been my fave restaurant for many many years...decades,
in fact. However, had not been back for some time. I have always loved the food and ambience.
This time we requested a table near the fireplace.
However, that did not occur...the one disappointment.
I thought our server was excellent...given there were 8 of us to juggle.
I've been going to Anatoli for a number of years now and find the food and service to be wonderful. I would highly recommend them for good food, ambience and customer service.
New Years Eve. I made a reservation for dinner for friends and myself. We were shown a table right by the front door and it was cold so I asked for another table and they refused and said that it was fully booked with reservations. I said yes I reserved too. So we sat down and it was also directly across from the kitchen. There was a lot of smoke as something was burning so I started getting asthma so again I asked for another table. Again I was refused. I went to the bathroom to use my inhaler so as not to make a spectacle of myself but I was upset and I again voiced my concern over the smoke and also my friends eyes were burning. They finally agreed to seat us in the back but were told we had to leave by eight. I have never had such bad service from them before but tonight I was very disappointed. Also my salmon souvlaki was so overdone it was difficult to tell if it was salmon or chicken. Won’t be returning for awhile. I feel honestly there was no customer service or feelings at all.
We were a group of 7. Loved where the restaurant seated us. We were away from the main area, but not abandoned in a uncomfortable corner. This helped us with the noise level as we could all hear each other and were not overwhelmed by other patrons. The food was excellent. We had appetizers and a main meal. We were full, so we did not have dessert. We enjoyed a bottle of the house white wine and we were very happy with the choice. OpenTable made it so easy to book. I even changed our reservation from 6 to 7 directly with the restaurant and received an updated confirmation. Huge thumbs up Anatoli Souvlaki. We'll be back.
My chicken souvlaki was a little too salty for my liking. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals
The meal was excellent
Always a great place to eat with friends and family
Should have checked first about the entertainment. We had specified business meal, but were sat underneath a speaker. The music was turned up very very loudly during the belly dancing performance. We cut the meeting short. They could have sat us elsewhere, but I should have checked to see about the dancer as well. I was unaware they had dancers.
Met up with friends for a fun night out together—lots of great food, and the unexpected appearance of a belly dancer. We had a great time 👍🏻🎉😍
The food was good and prices reasonable. But the noise level was monumental, so loud that the waiter comPLETELY messed up our order....Two wrong courses, one main came first, then the appetizer, then the other main....what a muck up! It was all good, though, and they removed the price of one food item, so all in all, it was fine.
Always been lucky to get our favorite table when requested on OpenTable. Great food, consistent service and reasonable prices. Watch for specials during the week. Our favorite Greek restaurant.
One complaint, the entrees were brought over when we had not finished our soup.(x2)
Good spot for a group.
One of my perennial favourites and I keep coming back. The lamp chops....oooh so delicious. We had a delightful waitress and a great table. Thanks for a super evening. And hi to the belly dancer.
Great food, service and atmosphere. We enjoyed the belly dancing and loved the customer participation.
We have to the before and the foods very good. Today the food was dry and service was ok. It was busy today. This should not be an excuse for the food to be dry.
Everything was great..just they asked for special occasion added birthday. First waitress acknowledged
Talked about her birthday and another one from our party.. nothing done. Ordered dessert. No candle or acknowledgement and charged. When mentioned, just oh I did not know.. She said maybe next time. I said next time isn't my birthday. End of discussion.
Absolutely terrible service from Sophia (flower tattoo on the top of her left hand). We had to ask other servers for more water, to order more food and the bill. She did not check on us nor was she around to do her job properly.
Food was good
Service and ambience great as usual. My pork souvlaki was chewy. Appetizers were on the small side. Desserts were generous and delicious.
Nice food ,decent service and a Greek outside of Greece that can give me a mythos, reasonably priced as well
Great restaurant! The pita bread was not good this evening and I have had it before when it was hot and fresh. Otherwise, the food is great.
Everything was great except for the noise of the motorcycles going up and down Lonsdale. We sat outside because of the great weather. Nothing to do with the restaurant
Great place for to get together with friends for a good meal. Always good food and service.
We had a delicious dinner at Anatoli and I highly recommend them. If you’re down at Lower Lonsdale and craving good comfort food, you won’t be disappointed. Around the table we had the country lamb, the “True Greek” pork souvlaki and the spanakopita. Each dish was delicious, with huge portions and packed full of home cooked Greek flavour. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.
Lucas is the best server in the universe. He was charming and attentive. I will go back to Anatoli Souvlaki just to see him again 😉
Great food and service. Wine is overpriced at $18 for a large (8oz I think) glass!!! Delicious Sangria for $10. We always enjoy this restaurant.
Loved the experience and the food. The revamped menu is much improved, and we will be back for sure.
We (a group of 5) went to Anatoli to celebrate a friends birthday and we were given a lovely table in the back where we could talk and enjoy each others company. Overall our experience was fantastic, the staff was very attentive, the food was excellent and the entertainment fun. We have always enjoyed Anatoli Souvlaki and would recommend it to friends and family.
Excellent food and service
Great food, extremely nice staff, had a belly dancer for a very brief time, wish it was a bit longer but everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. Great evening, rode the sea bus over for a unique experience.
We typically dine a little earlier here, because it is so good, and so popular, it can get a little loud for me on a Friday or Saturday evening during the later dining hours. Great food and outstanding service!
Amazing! Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious. Hands down best Greek I’ve ever had.
Delicious, as always.
Fantastic food!! Ambience and service tremendous!
Good Greek restaurant in north Vancouver ...
Good food, Ok value for money ... something to go back again.
Guess we are getting old. The Saturday night noise level was so high it was difficult to carry on a conversation. My friend turned his head and his plate with dip still remaining was cleared without being asked. My chicken souvlakia was ok. The rabbit was said to be good. I think the place works on Saturday for the under 30 crowd.
Lovely local restaurant on the North Shore. Food is delicious! Comfortable dining space. Service is excellent!!!!
Wonderful evening, great food, excellent service. Well look forward to the next time. Saturday night a hoot, complete with entertainment.
Some of the food was hot and some was cold(on the same plate) the service was excellent. The lighting on the upper floor feels like you are under a spotlight!! But lots energy in the room
