Anajak Thai Cuisine
Consistently good Thai food for many years. Always enjoy going back.
Everything was delicious, especially the Massaman Brisket Curry. This restaurant may have one of the best and most interesting wines in LA right now - wine lovers MUST try this place!
Service was ok. Had to sdk twice for water. For our appetizers we got our satay then had to wait another 10-15 mins for the wings. The fried fish and chicken wings were good. The rest was just ok. Garlic chicken too dry, shrimp fried rice also just ok. Prices a little too high for what u get. Not worth another visit
Amazing food and service. Very reasonably priced. This is my second time but I will go many times more and recommend it to many!!!
Great food, great service, very authentic Thai
Seemed to be low on staff on a Saturday. Took over an hour to get food on the table. Also, menu said vegetarian and vegan options were available upon request---not true, I was told by our server. I had to negotiate to get a veggie noodle dish served without meat or fish sauce.
I was super excited about this place as my friend who is half Thai raved about the food here; unfortunately, my visit was tainted the moment we arrived at the door. We walked in at 6:45 p.m. on a Saturday without a reservation; however, the restaurant was half empty with one two-top table straight in front of me. The hostess (and owner?) looked at her reservation book and said that she was not able to accommodate us without a reservation. "That's totally fair," I thought, until I went on Opentable to see if I could make a reservation that was an hour or more later. To my surprise, there was a 7:15 p.m. reservation available. If using logic, there was no way that the restaurant would have reservations between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. and then turn over the table(s) in 30 minutes. I made the Opentable reservation for 7:15 p.m. anyway as I was determined to try the food and I didn't mind walking around the neighborhood for 30 minutes. We got back to the restaurant promptly at 7:15 p.m. and lo and behold, the two-top table I was looking at earlier was still empty but now it was reserved for us with a Reserved sign on the table. My anger was boiling but the super nice maitre d'/bartender was obviously embarrassed and really went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. As we were there for the food, we decided on the crispy pork rolls, the massaman brisket, and the bbq pork collar. The rolls came out hot and crispy which I enjoyed. The bbq pork collar was really a lightly marinated pork chop that I didn't find all that special. The biggest disappointment was the brisket. If a brisket had been braised for over 6 hours, I expected it to melt in my mouth. Unfortunately, one of the briskets was so tough that my husband, who absolutely hates wasting food, spat it out; the saving grace was the super peanut-y sauce which he liked (I found it way too sweet). We rarely go to SF Valley and there is definitely no incentive for me to ever go back to Anajak.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants.. One of my regular restaurants when I'm in town. Unusual dishes, Pastry cups, noodles, fish stew. Everything was amazing!
The food was good but you have to familiar with Thai food in order to know what's good to order. The garden rolls we delicious but the chicken skewer and mussle dish were not tasty.
Overall good experience. Drunken noodles and red curry with shrimp was exceptional.
This place is so good. The whole wine menu is natural wine. The food is a little different, delightfully seasoned, and there is so much love that goes into it. Highly recommended!!!
Next-gen excellent Thai cuisine. Awesome artisan wines.
We love Anajak Thai and always go there with our good friends! We enjoy the food and ambience. The only fault we can find is in the dining chairs--very uncomfortable!
Not your everyday Thai. The family takes huge pride in offering food that can compete with the likes of Night+Market with a better wine list and minus the pretentious crowd(One of the best curated and interesting in the city for any restaurant.). Always love coming here and seeing one of the owners walking around explaining some off the beaten path wine from Germany or a natural wine he found Oregon. The seasonal hand painted menus are always a must do! Try the Har Mok fish curry custard. It might change your life...
My go to place for thai food in Sherman Oaks. The owners are wonderful and always take great care of us.
For the last twenty years the menus have been superb in both quality and presentation. The food is creative while honoring Thai heritage.
Charming family owned neighborhood restaurant serving delicious and inventive Thai dishes. Awesome natural wine selection too.
Excellent, interesting Thai cuisine. Family-owned, yet pretty enough for special occasion. Great wine list of boutique bottles that marry well with the cuisine. Highly recommend!
Always consistent with good food and service, it's also remained in the same location for many years.
Had a great dinner, looking forward to returning soon.
We had not been to Anajak Thai for many years because we had moved away from Sherman Oaks. It was every bit as good as we remembered it to be. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. A great return visit.
Very nice varied menu with nice portions. Very friendly staff.
Stellar Thai cuisine. This restaurant has really received a boost from the next-gen stepping in, and reviving authentic dishes the owner/chef once just cooked at home.
Excellent wine list that truly suits the cuisine. Signature dishes, like pad Thai and barbecued pork ribs, are consistently excellent, but also try new fare like branzino curry custard. This family-owned restaurant delivers a fine and fun dining experience that should not be missed.
Lovely spot, but food was subpar.
This was my first time at Anajak in many years. I am so happy we went back. Dinner was excellent. The Thai fried chicken, which was a special, the soup, green papaya salad, panang chicken curry and basil chicken were all delicious. The four of us dining were able to have a wonderful conversation while enjoying a very tasty meal. I would like to especially thank the restaurant for being so considerate to us as guests. They really went above and beyond the call ... We will be back very soon.
We love this place. Our first date was there more than 14 years ago. (We'e married now) Ask Paul what is good off the menu! They are currently doing a Mussiman Curry Brisket which is TO DIE FOR!
We totally enjoyed our first experience at the restaurant. They explained the dishes which helped us make choices. Everyone was lovely.
Always great. The food is delicious and the wine selections outstanding
I personally think this is the best Thai food in the Valley! So fresh and delicious!
I love this place! They have delicious recipes and are very attentive.
They were supposed to be open but we got there and had to get brother to work so the fact the Resturaunt had a paper sign saying they’ll be back and open today from 4-whenever and not 2pm made our schedule thrown off and so we won’t be going back there ever again.
This was our first visit, We enjoyed the good food and the comfortable atmosphere. The owners and staff were very friendly.
Best Thai food in the Valley -- fresh ingredients cooked just right and with authentic seasonings. It's a casual place with comfortable seating and a skillful, attentive owner. Parking is not great; the serving staff could be more experienced and it is a bit more expensive than most Thai restaurants -- but we thought it was well worth it.
My favorite restaurant. Love this place! Try the green curry
Anajak Thai had been our go-to for many years. Then we moved out of the immediate area and go back only occasionally.
We decided to go on Saturday night after a couple year’s absence. Rick did not disappoint! There were fresh dishes and a new wine menu overseen by his son. The Branzino with apple Slaw was amazing! We also enjoyed a steak
Dish with sticky rice and a grilled prawn dish.
We went there by friend's recommendation. Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. For sure we will dine there regularly.
Anajak Thai has dishes that we’d never tasted before. A get together with friends. Food was wonderful. Decor tasteful and restrained and service good. Will return
Fabulous Thai food, with an emphasis on fresh and healthful. The chef will prepare nearly any dish low-fat, using stock instead of oil. Great wine list with bottles that actually pair well with Thai cuisine. Neighborhood gem.
By far the best Thai food in Southern California. I can't say enough wonderful things about their food. Taste is clean w/no greasy residue. I always leave feeling refreshed. The menu changes monthly so I make sure to visit once a month. Family owned and it seems like it passed down to the next generation. Do yourself a favor and try it. Amani Shrimp is delicious. Soft Shell Crab is awesome! Pad See Yu and Pad Thai are excellent.
Love eating here when I’m in town. Branzino and mee grob were particularly tasty.
