Ampersea Restaurant
Spaced out appropriately for Covid. Brunch was very good, particularly the lobster roll, and the food was priced very appropriately. The red sangria was delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Dined during Covid. Hostess was very inviting, warm. Reservations were made, we were sat immediately, bar was small, indoor dining area I expected to be bigger but it was comfortable, greeted by the waitress that was knowledgeable & attentive, cocktails were a bit weak. Starters were mussels & the seafood dip, both were very good. For dinner I had the lamb shank. It was one of the best pieces of lamb I ever had. Fell off the bone, well seasoned. 4 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees, $180 including drinks.
My first time. Get the covid-friendly outdoor experience of Ampersea while the weather is still above freezing. Thank goodness the heat lamps did their job because the wind was very disrespectful. I can imagine the experience in warmer weather is fabulous as well.
The food incredible. We had the wings, a dozen oysters to share and I had the 1/2 & 1/2 soup (mix of cream of crab and the MD crab) such a great idea! Each soup individually was amazing so you can't go wrong either way.
Many of us had the scallops which were excellently prepared and succulent. The sautéed veggies were scrumptious- who knew bacon could add so much flavor? The lobster roll looked amazing and I was told it was. The truffle parmesean fries were fabulous and so flavorful.
I usually have drink envy but the vanilla pear martini made me the envy of the evening for such a great choice and accompaniment to my meal.
We topped off the meal with the apple bread pudding. Couldn't really taste the apple, but it had great taste anyway.
I picked Ampersea on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Everything..the food, service and of course my company were all fantastic. Thanks for making my 2nd birthday celebration of the month an outstanding experience.
Food was great. We sat in the greenhouses and looked out at the water. The lobster roll and seafood omelette were amazing!
Awesome experience! We celebrated my son Chase 14th birthday everyone was wonderful and outstanding great hospitality is all I can say. From when I called and talked to Lamont then my waiter Kim was awesome. Thank you We will definitely be back
Great fresh seafood and we loved the outdoor patio.
We had dinner at the greenhouse. It was perfect to celebrate our anniversary!
The greenhouses are a MUST DO! They are the ultimate intimate dining experience, especially during social distancing times. The food was great - it didn't come out quick, but it didn't take a while either. Highly recommend the seafood dip, scallops, and crabcake. The only downside is the amount of foot traffic, but being in the greenhouses, it wasn't too bothersome.
Food and ambiance was great!
Awesome view in greenhouse tables and the food was great quality
The food was great! The garden house was lovely.
Overall very good night
The team at Ampersea does a fantastic job. They have a ton of outdoor seating and are very diligent about COVID protocol. Their food is great, both in terms of quality and value, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Anniversary
Birthday dinner
While there were a few missteps with our orders (wrong egg style, delay in receiving condiments, etc.) the server comped the brussells sprouts to make up for it. The setting is absolutely lovely on the water, the noise level was perfectly acceptable, and the cocktails were superb.
My meal was great everyone in our party enjoyed there meal.
We really enjoyed Ampersea! The food and ambiance was excellent!
The food and ambiance left us speechless, however, our server was not memorable at all. She brought out what we ordered but was not knowledgeable on the menu and her personality was so flat. Hard to explain but I really didn't appreciate gratuity being included, and that made it seem like our server just didn't put much effort forth since she knew she was guaranteed a tip. Would not recommend for this reason.
My husband and I invited my sister in law to dinner. We were looking for a restaurant the week before to celebrate our anniversary and stumbled upon Ampersea. The food and ambience was wonderful. We had to go again. I encourage you to stop by and enjoy!!
The food here for brunch is just OK but the ambiance makes up for it. There are definitely better brunch places in Baltimore/Fells point but being on the water was really beautiful and peaceful
The best views in Baltimore. Thank you to all staff making our evening absolutely wonderful. The crab soup, and the scallops were out of this world.
We have had some mixed results, but this time was fantastic! The flavors were amazing, and service at the bar was unparalleled. True in the amazing view of the harbor and this was a win!
Always an enjoyable experience. Will definitely frequent this restaurant
Our server, Marisa, was absolutely outstanding! Super knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant and was very attentive! She truly made our experience ❤️❤️
The view is amazing. The food was wonderful. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was just thr amount of food that I needed. The grapefruit breeze is a must.
Everything was amazing this was our second trip to this restaurant. From the host to the wait staff, everything was perfect.
Such a beautiful setting and the food is incredible, all of the staff was kind and helpful
We had a very nice dinner outdoors with a spectacular view.
Ampersea was incredible! Seated by the water next to a heat lamp for our anniversary. Thanks!
Had our post-engagement dinner there. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the meal was delicious. 5/5 stars.
Brunch and drinks very good ...beautiful scenery .I will be coming back
Amazingg everything! Deff will return!!
Great view and great food! Couldn't have asked for a better experience
This place was amazing! The food was amazing! I recommend the Grilled lamb shank or the crab cake! The service was awesome and the view was beyond beautiful. I'd definitely go again!
Another good brunch. Wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and switched in the midst of our dining. They forgot my Brussel sprouts then brought them with bacon on them and then finally came back with the right ones. Chicken and waffles were good, too much syrup though. Order mimosa but never was asked if we wanted refills just came and collected our glasses. The Ampersea omelet was reportedly good. I’d go again, mostly for the view not the service.
Excellent views of the Patapsco river as we were seated right by the water. Food options were a little limited as the restaurant does not offer a lunch menu on weekends but we had the Ampersea omletter which was very good.
The food portions were very small. However the the quality and taste was very good
Food quality and Service is amazing!!! The scallops were a bit under salt, but not reason to be an amazing dish.
We love Sea bass Cioppino, was perfect!!!
Amazing!
You’re basically paying for the waterfront view. The food isn’t that great especially considering the price. Service was fine. However, I would not return.
Went there on a Thursday evening. The service was mediocre. The server could not be bothered to answer questions about the dish. The food wasn’t that good either. I had the the braised short rib which was dry and tasteless. My date had the Lamb shank which, though sizable, wasn’t very tasty either. The lobster Mac and cheese was great with chunks of real lobster. I had the chocolate mousse which was good but The cheese cake was passable. We were seated on one of the side areas so the view wasn’t as good as it could’ve been and there were people out for a run right next to where we were eating. Worst part was that they included an 18% gratuity in the Bill. Ridiculous! Did not want to create a scene as I was on a date. Overall a very underwhelming experience.
