A very nice date on my wife’s birthday. Food was excellent. Staff was attentive. A little too windy for Al fresco dining.

Disappointing in a few ways. The beer was not cold so I switched to wine which was good. Lobster roll for dinner - kinda dry lobster. Didn't seem fresh. Scallops were good. We sat by the window and were struck by the dust on the sills. We were there early and it was quiet, not sure how loud it would be if full. Waitress (Keylyn?) was fabulous but she can't control the kitchen/bar issues.

The overall experience was wonderful until the very end. My husband was full from appetizers and was unable to finish his mushroom risotto - therefore he wanted to take it home in a box. When we asked for a box, the waiter claimed there was no boxes available. It was a full dish and it had to go in the garbage and get wasted. I was very disappointed.

This is my 2nd time dining at Ampersea. 1st time dining for brunch. I had both a good and not so good experience. The Good: * The ambiance when you sit outside is everything. I don’t think I’d ever come here if I couldn’t sit outside. The view is top tier especially on a day as nice as yesterday. * The food is pretty good. I haven’t had anything in my two visits that I didn’t like. * There was a DJ (Sunday brunch) The Not So Good: *sat right next to speaker which made it pretty loud *Server seemed to have an attitude and wasn’t very attentive. *bottomless mimosas are NOT bottomless All in all, the attitude of the server is not enough to keep me from coming back as I had a completely different type of experience the first time I came. The food was good, and the drinks, when they finally came were good as well. The selling point of this restaurant is the view. Unless the service gets to the point that it makes the value of the visit substandard, I will return.

Drinks needed some work. Order a mocktail that was suppose to taste like a mule but taste like sprinkled water instead. Waiter was even confuse on why it taste like that but got me one of his recommended drinks instead which was good. The biggest letdown was my girlfriend lobster had pieces of imitation lobster meat in it. She didn’t even wanted to finish eating it after the first 2 bites. We could tell it was imitation because it look like chicken when she bit into it. Overall we might try again in the summer but can’t recommend this place right now

Fish tacos were dry and didn’t have much flavor. Everything else was decent.
