Another amazing meal at Amorette. This is my second time for lunch since the opening. A creature of habit, I nearly opted for my previous picks but decided to go outside the box. We both started with tuna tartare. A very generous plate of rare tuna with a sweet chili sauce. While very good, I still regret not having the escargot. For an entree we chose the daily fish, a beautiful well prepared red snapper, the beef “fall off your fork” short rib and for added benefit we threw in a single crab cake as these are Chef LeBoon’s signature recipe. Absolutely delicious with beautiful presentation on each course. We finished with the million dollar chocolate desert, hazelnut mouse and the lemon meringue. All so amazing. After a three,++ course lunch it makes me wonder how I would make it through a dinner. Lunch is creatively prepared and not rushed. Be prepared to linger and enjoy the experience. Not a great option if rushed. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and a Sommelier available to assist. The chef made several appearances during our lunch. Overall great experience.
Amorette is a treasure for foodies in Central Pennsylvania. The restaurant executes the details of fine dining extremely well. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the meal at Amorette made our anniversary special. My one observation is that Amorette is fine dining. As such, the prices are commensurate with the quality of the food and service. Be prepared to spend at least $200 for dinner for two. Depending on one's perspective, this is not out of line in terms of value.
Too many interruptions from staff. A lot of utensil switches.
Beautiful ambiance. Turbot not outstanding.
Went for a birthday dinner with family and were seated in a private dining room (they're call, not our special request). The menu was excellent with many interesting choices, e.g. a creamy truffled egg appetizer and antelope entrees, on the fixed price portion of the menu. We didn't try to chef's tasting menu but it looked wonderful.
Service was very attentive and professional. They did a great job explaining each dish and providing recommendations when asked. It was obvious they received a significant amount of training.
The wine list is extensive and thoughtfully put together. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and engaging. It's evident he spent a lot of time putting together the list which covers every major wine region around the world and emphasizes French wines particularly.
The menu has many nods to molecular gastronomy, but they are thoughtful without being weird or trendy for the sake of being trendy. I thought they incorporated spherification (tiny pearls of sauces), emulsifications like foams and gelifications into the dishes in ways that made sense and didn't attract attention the cooking technique itself. Instead, they showed how molecular gastronomy can enhance a dish and make the ingredients, rather than the cooking technique, the star.
Most importantly all the food was excellent! Everything was prepared perfectly and presented very creatively. Portion sizes were well executed so you left satisfied but not stuffed. Each dish had layers of complementary flavors and was seasoned very well.
All in all, an excellent fine dining experience. The cost was substantial, but if you really appreciate fine food and wine, it's definitely worth the money. We will definitely go back at every possible opportunity.
This restaurant was everything we expected and more. We ended up with a private dining room and the service was outstanding, food was very creative and over the top, wine selection was unique, desserts ended the meal with a bang... Can not wait to return
Fabulous bursts of flavors popping from creatively crafted presentations. white fish ceviche was outstanding, desserts out of this world, amazing French pastry chef. Great service, friendly welcoming staff, food tastes and presentations enliven lots of conversation and explorations, tasting adventure! A very special dining experience, New York style in the heart of this great town!
Outstanding dining experience! Food choices, presentation, and eating experience were all extraordinary. Worth saving up for a special experience!
Absolutely amazing experience. There are no words to even express the level of complete contentment after this meal. The service, the meal, the ambiance. Everything was phenomenal.
We went for lunch. It can be an expensive lunch. We did the Prix Fixe menu so it was $38 for 3 items. Pricey for lunch but a special lunch spot. Very nice and quiet.
My friend got the salmon starter and let me try it - we both really liked it. I would choose this next time.
I got the pate and it was okay.
She got the goat cheese and beet salad. Don't expect a huge salad here but she said it was good.
I got the lobster bisque I think it was. It was good and a big portion - a little too big - bigger than a cup.
We both got the crabcakes. I found them a little too rich for my liking but good. The fingerling potatoes were excellent! The carrots were also good.
We both had to take home at least half of our entree. We had more than enough!!
I am sure lunch is less expensive than dinner so you might want to try this option to save a little $ but still try the food.
Very nice place.
Fantastic facility, great friendly staff just an overall wonderful experience!
Outstanding new Fine Dining in Lancaster. The atmosphere was exquisite. The food amazing. Huge wine cellars.
Another gem of a restaurant in downtown Lancaster! Beautiful decor, attentive service and extensive wine list. But the careful presentation and unique flavors of every dish showed how serious they were in having the food itself be the star of the show of our four course prix fixe dinner. I couldn’t rave more about our dining experience!
Something you’d expect to find in Rittenhouse Square or NYC. With only being open for a couple months, they’re doing everything right. The kitchen is all Michelin Star trained, the front of house was as amicable as they come & their sommeliers knowledge was top-notch. If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or merely treat yourselves to a memorable night out, Amorette is worth every penny.
Very interesting menu. Great food for a Lancaster restaurant.
Amorette is a beautiful restaurant. Every inch of the space is a feast for the eyes. Every dish is a feast for the tummy. My red beet salad was delicious. My three friends all raved about their crab cake entree with shrimp mousse as the only binder.
The sommelier assisted two members of the group in their wine selection.
Brittany, our server, was very friendly.
A terrific dining experience! Highly recommended!
This was our first time coming to Amorette but we can’t wait to return. The experience was outstanding every aspect it’s difficult to name a favorite part of the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge of the staff especially our sommelier. The food was superb and we recommend the four course menu as there are many great options. I took my husband here for his birthday and we were so impressed that a restaurant and experience like this is now in Lancaster. Lancaster had been lacking a restaurant of this caliber. We enjoy great wine and can be food and wine “snobs” and Amorette will exceed your recommendations. Amorette will quickly become a regular spot for us. After dinner we went to the bar lounge area with another couple we met at the restaurant and it was a great transition from the main dining room. The bar is a trendy place you may expect to see in a larger city. It is definitely a great place to meet friends and even new friends.
Exquisite and delicious- chef Daniel is extraordinary- desserts are delicious and gorgeous
Sommelier Thierry Lesparre is a gem. Food and service were fantastic. A restaurant you would expect to find in Philly or New York - outstanding!
A tale of two experiences. The restaurant portion was superb, with fantastic service. Britney and Tyree were fabulous and super attentive. The sommelier Thierry(?) was very knowledgeable and chose a great wine based on what taste we were going for. LOVED the food and did the 4 course prix fixe as we liked having more choices than the 7 course prix fixe. Highlights for us included the ceviche amuse bouche, the tuna tartare, foie gras, and the Kobe beef.
Then the night took a turn for the horrible when we went for after dinner drinks in the bar. We heard they had a rare and expensive tequila and mezcal so ordered one of each while sitting st the bar. They were presented nicely in a fancy glass and were delicious. Then we sat and sat and sat and sat. There were 4 bar staff including the manager for 5 customers. One was chopping fruit, SNEEZED in his hand, and kept chopping without washing hands. One was talking to another staff member who was SITTING AT THE BAR DRINKING. The other staff including the bar manager walked past us numerous times even with our empty glasses pushed forward, but at least they made sure they had time to drink their coffee. For the first and hopefully only time, I quoted Pretty Woman to my wife, "I have this money and no one will help me."
When the bar manager FINALLY checked on us after over 20 minutes, we were so ticked that we just asked for the check. They did offer to comp the tab and give us a free round, but we had already had enough of this experience. We insisted on paying for the drink, but they did give us 50% off. The next day in talking with MULTIPLE friends who had been there other times reported THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE before we told them what happened to us (including offering a free round)
I would rate the restaurant 5 stars and the bar 0 stars, like going from a Rolls Royce to a Ford Pinto, if only that wasn't so offensive to Ford Pintos. A darn shame that put a sour end on what had been a sweet night.
What a wonderful experience! A new gem for Lancaster City
Staff very knowledgeable. Food, just like you were in France.
Slightly difficult to find from outside, but this gem is more than worth it. We went to celebrate a birthday, which everyone who helped us was aware of (great touch), and they even wrote “happy birthday” on my mom’s plate. The staff was amazing! Our waitress was extremely helpful and knew the menu very well. The sommelier, new to Lancaster and initially from Italy, was very friendly and we loved getting to talk to him. The food was great, recommend the 4 course for a group so that you can get a taste of everything. Finally, the amuse bouche was FLAWLESS. A great addition to the Lancaster food scene.
Great dining experience. It’s like back to Europe. Amazing food and fabulous desserts!!! Definitely will be back.
Modeled after a Michelin star restaurant I will be interested in watching to see if it catches on in Lancaster at this price point. The signage makes it difficult to find but is part of its elegant charm. It was a great experience.
We were in town for a wedding and also celebrating the beginning of our own honeymoon. Found this gem had just opened six weeks prior, and we’re so glad they did! There is a seven course prix fine dinner option, and the four course option with many choices for each course, which was wonderful! We chose different dishes so we could try more, and it was a lot of fun, and all delicious! Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town! PS they have a lovely wine list, and the bar/lounge is gorgeous, with room for 16 at the curved bar, plus lots of comfy lounge couches and chairs. Great ace to have a drink or grab a bite!
We went in with high expectation and were very impressed overall. We had the four course tasting with wine pairings. The servers were attentive, well informed and friendly. The food delicious and the wines paired perfectly. This was a great dining experience. Lancaster can be proud to have a high end restaurant like Amorette. We will be back!
Celebrated anniversary- we had four course dinner it was the best meal we ever had - highly recommend
This restaurant raises the bar in Lancaster, significantly! We loved it and will be back!
We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful dinning experience. All four courses were great and the service was perfect and we did not feel hurried. Each course was explained and we had very good guidance with the wine selection. Due to the higher cost this will not be a weekly date night out but we do plan to enjoy the Amorette several times during the year. Lancaster is very fortunate to have this new restaurant.
Great experience! Food is awesome! Very classy, upscale restaurant. Only one thing I’d improve, offer dark napkins to those with dark colored clothing. I had dark pants on, and was given a white napkin.
Everything about our experience at Amorette was exquisite. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday, and while it is pricey we walked away feeling that it was totally worth it. We have both been fortunate enough to eat at some incredible restaurants, and Amorette ranks right up there with the best of them--in fact we both felt it was the best meal we've ever had.
We each did the 4 course pre fixe menu. While everything was spectacular, our favorites were the tuna tar tar, scallops (they were a special that night, not usually on the menu), the antelope and the grapefruit dessert. Everything was prepared to perfection, with gorgeous presentation. We also did the wine pairing, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable, and we felt the pours were generous enough to make the price worth it.
The service was excellent and the interior of this restaurant is a real showstopper. No detail was overlooked.
Overall, we had an excellent experience and already have reservations to come back for lunch. I just really hope this place can succeed in Lancaster at this price range!! While there are many great restaurants in Lancaster, Amorette is, hands down, the best!
New restaurant in town. We were happy to try it out. Very elegant setting, friendly service. The menu offered sophisticated fare, there was either 4 course prix fixe or 7 course chef’s tasting menu. My wife’s rabbit loin was especially noteworthy. The wine list was extensive. The price was impressive. We’ll be back, but only for special occasions.
My wife and I dined at Amorette for our anniversary. The staff were very gracious and the dining room was gorgeous. Everything on the menu looked amazing. We chose the four course prix fixe menu and made our selections. The sommelier offered excellent wine selections based on our dinner choices. Every course, I had the tuna tartar, lobster bisque, antelope, and cheese plate for desert, was excellent. My wife enquired about two different deserts, they served the desert she ordered and also presented her with the other desert since it was our anniversary. Our experience was outstanding and we will definitely be returning again.
This is an ambitious restaurant for Lancaster. The space is striking and the service is top notch, which you would certainly expect from a place charging such high prices. We loved the emphasis on wild mushrooms throughout the menu but unfortunately found the flavors to be lackluster. In many cases the delicate aroma of the mushrooms was overwhelmed by other flavors. The squash blossom salad was served with old frisee which was brown and wilted at the ends. We ordered wine pairings with each course and the pairings were bizarre -- a sweet Mosel riesling with smoky salmon and sablefish? Not good. California chardonnay with shrimp & crabcake? Acrid. Sauternes with grapefruit dessert? Whaaa?! We had a nice chat with the chef afterward, and he seemed passionate about his art, so we are hopeful things will get better and better as this restaurant matures!
Arrived and had a drink at the bar, great selection, great service. Was seated and service went downhill. Waited 1 hour from order till first course was served. We went with the wine paring along with 4 course tasting menu. Solminer was excellent and served first wine a few minutes after orders were taken. After 45 minutes he stopped back and asked if we didn't enjoy the wine, we said we hadn't received our food. Service moved faster after the first course but it was still a 3 hour experience. Chef Daniel greeted the guests which he always did at Josephine's.
Instantly I would rank the food and ambiance as Best in Lancaster. And, you will pay for it, as this is an upscale experience similar to Té. The food redefines a five star rating for Lancaster, but the costs will be a barrier for many local residents. For those who can afford it or enjoy upscale special occasions, you must go at least once. My dinner guest and I thoroughly enjoyed 8 different dishes + 1 supplemental dish. The Tuna Tartare, Crab Cake, Risotto, and Lemon Meringue were bonafide Best in Lancaster standouts. The Black Truffle Risotto is a revelation and the Lemon Meringue was a divine surprise. While the service team was pleasant, my guest and I did not receive 5-star service. So, there is still room for improvement for this exciting new entry to Lancaster's vibrant foodie scene.
This restaurant is on par with the top restaurants in Philadelphia, and could compete with some of NYC’s best as well. I can’t believe this level of dining is available in Lancaster. It makes me so happy!
Great experience. food was excellent and service was impeccable. Expensive, but worth it.
Food was very good but very, very expensive. Will probably not return as the value is simply not there. The ambiance and overall experience simply didn’t warrant the high cost. Good to experience one time.
This newcomer sets very high standards for itself -- and delivers. The ambiance was perfect for fine dining as was the service. We (3 of us) had the four-course menu and there were many more choices than usually found with this type of presentation. The food was as delicious to the palate as it was beautiful to the eye. It's pricey, yes; but no more than the Michelin-starred restaurant we visited in Dijon, France.
