We love this restaurant. We had the salmon piccata, the veal piccata, lobster/shrimp ravioli and ceasar salad. All were fresh and very tasty! We also had the chocolate cake and creme brulee for dessert. Very yummy and decadent. The outside covered dining is so romantic and lovely. We will be back.
The service the food the ambience all outstanding!
Great location and the owners attention to detail is second to none!
The three of us ordered Bacalhau, the Portuguese speciality and we were delighted with the quality of the dish. We had a most interesting conversation about Portuguese wines with the head waiter and selected a top red wine based on his recommendation. It was quite simply outstanding. We very much liked the decor and quiete atmosphere of the dining room. We shall all be back soon!
AMORE was a backup to our original plans and we are so thankful those plans fell through. Excellent live music befitting of the ambiance bit not so loud you couldnt have a conversation. Excellent foo and a wonderful staff!!
Unique setting, delicious food, excellent live music. Unfortunately, the service was VERY slow! The hostess was rude acting like we were hassling her to show us to our table. (We had a reservation).
Our meals were wonderful. Three of us did the early dining menu with salmon, spaghetti and meatballs, and the pasta with clams. We also had one seafood cataplana Portuguese meal. All were wonderful as were our appetizers and desserts. The service was personable and accommodating. This is one of our favorite restaurants. We will be back.
First timers to Sarasota and fist time dining at Amore. I would highly recommend. We sat upstairs and our waiter Don was attentive, helpful and friendly. The owner stopped by to ask if we enjoyed our experience. We will go back.
Food and service were excellent. Can’t wait to go bad and take friends. One of my very favorite places in Sarasota!
Only issue was open table. My reservation was confirmed for 7:00pm but the restaurant was messaged for 4:20pn from open table. Additionally, immediately after booking the reservation I received a notice from open table for 10:00pm prior to getting the confirmation email stating 7:00 pm
When we first walked in we were pleasantly surprised at the set up and the unusual dining chairs. Our server Chris was so personable and helpful and made the experience very enjoyable. We were 3 and shared the mussel appetizer which has the best sauce, and also the Portuguese sausage bruschetta type appetizer as well. The musical entertainment was lovely as it was mellow and perfectly accompanied the dining experience. The owner came by the check everything was going well. We had table side cherries jubilee and enjoyed every bite. We would definitely return.
This is a very romantic restaurant. Loved the musician too, which made it more romantic. Food is excellent, comes out hot and very tasty. They make some meals tableside. Wait staff needs some professional training; didn't seem like they knew which tables belonged to who. But overall, we had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Cannot be beat on any level. Hospitality, menu, staff and entertainment.
Food was good but not great. Bland seasoning. A little expensive for the quality. Service was great.
Beautiful night for the Patio. Musician, Eddie, was great. Service was on the spot.
Italian music night.. great fun
Portuguese cuisine deliciously prepared with authenticity.
Great food, great service, with background musical entertainment.
Our evening at Amore was delightful. The food, the service and the music was wonderful. We will definately be back to this great local venue.
First time here. Great food and atmosphere. Very friendly employees. We came to hear Eddie Tobin play the piano and was not disappointed. We will definitely be going back!
Food and ambience was great. A wonderful place to celebrate anniversarry. Veronica was an exceptional waitress.
Great waiter who knew his wine. Good food and good value. A fun evening.
great summer pasta deal! All are 50% off.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed the Savor Sarasota menu and price. The chef did an excellent job of presenting the meals. Will definitely go back again.
The food and service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff. Really enjoyed the music by Michelet Innocent which really added to the ambiance.
We enjoy this restaurant and have been there several times. I would have rated the food higher, however the pasta came to us warm rather than hot, indicating it had sat waiting for the server to bring it to us.
We were excited to try Amore during Savor Sarasota week but were disappointed overall. The food was good but not great, portions were more than adequate , service was good and entertainment was good and not overpowering. BUT we have several other local Italian restaurants we enjoy more.
Worth a try to see if it's to your liking.
Excellent loved the food and ambiance. Bummer the live music stopped the week before. Definitely will visit again
Ordered the chicken Marsala and it was not good but they brought me the eggplant afterwards and it was very good
We had a large group (and 2 babies) and a few persons could not show at the last minute, over Memorial Day weekend. Liliana made it easy for us to change the size of our group and to be in a room by ourselves! Food was fabulous, service as well! Definitely would recommend Amore.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. So glad we came back. As good as I remember.
We took friends out to dinner at Amore Italian Restaurant at Burns Court, Sarasota. We all ordered something different, and everything was delicious. We had a lovely booth, and because we went for dinner at 5:30, it was not crowded. Although the first floor is "open air" with lots of fans, and even a "water mister" to cool the air, it was quite comfortable, even on a warm night. For dessert we ordered cherries jubilee which were prepared at our table, and they were wonderful, even though we are still wondering how we managed to finish them after our large dinners. After dinner we wandered the street, enjoying visiting and browsing in a huge antique store nearby.
Consistently a great meal, service is excellent, great bartender, fun atmosphere, friendly and fun!!
Actually brought friends who had never been to Amore before.. They enjoyed every aspect of the evening, and are now planning to bring their golf group there.
We brought an expensive bottle of Cab, however they had a very good wine list. You could get a generous pour of Pinot Grigio or Chianti for $8. My house salad was just ok, our friends wedge salad was good and the calamari was good. We all had the pasta, mine was the vongale, wife's lasagna, friends clams, all were very good and generous portions. We were stuffed and passed on dessert. We ate in one of the rooms which was air conditioned and beautiful with comfortable chairs. The only downside was a group of 8 women who after some wine became very loud.
We will definitely return.
Amore is one of my favorite restaurants. The food, service and especially the music makes for a perfect evening out.
From the moment we arrived they could not have been more welcoming. I normally go to Italian restaurants under protest (that's just me) This is the first Italian restaurant I have ever wanted to return to, and soon . The food ,service, ambience was all outstanding.
The outside area is casual and has misters and fans for cooling. Unfortunately, in Florida’s climate, the mist doesn’t evaporate, leaving you feeling a little wet. The food, though, is well prepared and tasty. Worth a visit if you don’t mind dining in a drizzle.
Service was wonderful. Anthony was very nice and engaging. The gentlemen who made our table side ceaser was also very nice and engaging. Ceaser was out of this world. Good portions and food was excellent. Would ld definitely come back and recommend to anyone who is here.
We had personal service, delicious food (the thin-crust pizza is delicious!) Convenient to Burns Court Theatre, Amore is a great place for Italian good.
