Wonderful food and impeccable service. Great evening.
Excellent service and meal
Diverse menu and delicious food. The red fish was cooked perfectly and the lemon sauce with the orzo pasta was fantastic. The wine list is excellent and the staff is ready to share info to help make a great decision.
Another great evening at my favorite restaurant. The service was exceptional as always. The food was what dreams are made of, full of flavor and just divine. Amore is such a treat and I’ve never had a bad experience here.
Absolutely love this place! I was struggling to rate the value, but went with 5 stars. We had a full meal with drinks and dessert and after tip our bill was about $175 for two people. For the food that is a little pricey (even though it is the most amazing food ever!) However, I think the value is there because of the overall experience. It does not feel like you are sitting in Birmingham, Alabama. When you are at Amore you feel like you are getting an escape the moment you walk through the doors. Everyday life can be all consuming with kids and sports and work, this is my favorite place to escape with my husband for a romantic evening.
We arrived a little early but were promptly seated. Our table was spaced apart from the other tables in our area, so we were quite comfortable with our distancing. We were in the same area as the bar, which was a little boisterous, but overall it was quite nice. Food was, as usual, excellent. I ordered the meatball appetizer as my entree, with a Cesar salad. My husband chose the Greek chicken with Italian salad. Both meals were excellent, well presented, and our waiter, Ricardo, was attentive but not too much. Our table had been cleaned prior to our seating.
I had three meatballs and took two home for future meals, as they were the size of tennis balls! The rolls with dipping oil were excellent as well. Amore is our ‘go-to’ for fine Italian dining. We had not been there since prior to the pandemic, so it was nice to be back.
Another spectacular meal at Amore. What a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Can't wait to go again!
My boyfriend and I took his parents there for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food and service were excellent. We will be back!
Great! The food was amazing. Steve was an amazing waiter and as professional as they come! He knew the menu, how the food was prepared, and gave us plenty of time to select our wine and appetizers. We’ve been several times when the restaurant was not that busy and the ambiance was amazing. Other times when there were more people in the restaurant, the noise level left something to be desired, but in the end, you can’t beat the food, wine, and service.
Everything was amazing. Food and service were perfect.
I celebrated my sixty something birthday
We were celebrating my birthday. Food was great, just a little too salty, but I find that most places! There was a lot of background noise making it difficult for me to hear.
Great meal and service! This was our first time to dine there, but it will not be the last.
Date with my husband
Great time as always
Classic Italian in a quiet sedate setting. Highly recommended
$145 for two entrees. Unfriendly wait staff. Way overpriced!
This was our 3rd visit to the restaurant: each time the food and service have been outstanding. This visit was on a Tuesday night after a holiday and I was expecting some lower results, given early in the week and just after a holiday weekend. Nothing was even a notch lower as the food was wonderful and the service was on top.
Excellent! While it is on the expensive side, it was well worth it. The portions are large and the quality is excellent.
THE best Italian restaurant in Birmingham!! Amore was recommended by my son & his wife. We love Italian so we decided to try it. Oh my! We’re hooked. There is absolutely nothing about this restaurant that we did not like. The food was exceptional, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was exquisite. If you want to eat the most delicious food around and be catered to like a VIP, this is the place.
My husband and I went to Amore for our anniversary and it was amazing! From The social distancing, to the service, to The amazing food. We ate appetizers, entree and dessert and everything was the best! Our waiter Hunter did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable about all the menu items. Highly recommend Amore to anybody looking for a nice place to dine.
Note: Amore has a very high rating based on relatively few reviews. Here’s why ... It’s Dino’s way, or the highway.
Amore isn’t interested in learning to serve how YOU like it. It’s how THEY like to cook & serve it.
Leave a review Dino is not happy with, and YOU may not be welcome in his restaurant anymore. I’m not, after my review below.
When did it become MY fault for HIS bad meal?
When did it become MY fault for HIS failure to personally come to our table and express sympathy & desire to please?
THAT is why I chose to review the good and the bad of our 9/3/2020 experience at Amore (below) when Open Table asked me “How was my meal?”
What I said about my meal is true and really happened.
I had no intention of going back.
As for an honest review,Dino cannot handle the truth.
Drinks, rolls & salad were superb.
Salmon & veal marsala, both entrees, were too salty.
Friend had veal; said sauce didn’t taste good & meat had gristle.
Didn’t want to but HAD to send both entree’s back.
Friend changed to lasagna; said it was dry & wouldn’t get again.
My salmon was delicious the second time.
Amaretto cheesecake was delicious.
Owner/manager never came to our table to express sympathies and apologize for the poor entree’s on the first go ‘round.
Waiters’ services were excellent ... until the bill. The bill was presented with the veal dish still on it. Had to ASK for the veal to be removed. It was.
There’s now a new menu; dishes have become very expensive.
Despite frustrations, we still left a good tip.
All things considered, IMO Amore should not maintain its pre-Covid excellent ratings.
The only thing I would change would be the lighting, menu was small print and the light available at the table was not acquate to read the menu. Both dishes arrived as ordered and portions are above average. For desert I'd recommend the Bread Pudding!!
Our waiter Paul gave us all time we needed to order and was very helpful on selecting a wine for dinner. I'd give our serive 5 stars, meal 5 stars, desert and coffee 5 stars,
My wife and I was just looking for some good food and based on previous reviews we gave it a try and was blown away with the service and food! Calamari app and shrimp scampi app great and she had the lobster ravioli which she enjoyed and I had the veal Marsala which was also awesome! The killer was the fresh bread it was sooooo GOOD!!! We had to send it away so we could eat our meals!! This is a must try spot if you enjoy some scratch made Italian food!
This is the best Italian restaurant in the Birmingham area...hands down, no contest. If you don’t believe me, go and find out for yourself.
Loved the food. Have not been there in years.
Ricardo was an awesome server.
The best Italian in Bham. Top 5 places to eat in Bham. I go once a week if I can.
Next best thing to being in Italy! My colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We'll be back for sure.
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful.
Greta service and Great food. Will definitely go back.
We sat at a table close to the bar and it was a little noisy.
This is our absolute favorite restaurant! Every element of our experience is always impeccable and of the finest quality. We judge every other restaurant by their standard! At Amore, every meal is a special occasion!
Perfect evening with the perfect atmosphere and incredible food!!!
Always delicious. Love sitting at the bar with Tonya.
Our favorite restaurant in Birmingham!! We have never had a bad experience. True Italian food, like we used to get in NY, and like our Italian grandmas used to make.
Great food and service in a nice environment - again!
Our table had
1. Lamb chops
2. Seared Tuna
3. Sausage Peppers and Onions
All three ...over the top!
Service by Steven Miller was impeccable and Bartender Tonya and Paul came by table to check on us and personally deliver wine.
This place is so good that when I leave I already know what I am coming back for.
No place else like this.
Superb cuisine and service.
Excellent atmosphere, service and food. Will go back again!
Food and service were great.
