The food was delicious. The service did not match the excellence level of the food. I arrived 5 minutes before my reservation and there was no one at the door to receive me. I caught the hostess as she walk-in and she asked me curtly to wait in the sitting area. She did not give me a drinks menu while I was waiting, I had to ask another waiter for it. When we were seated our waiter arrived and said, "Sorry I'm late, I was busy at the chef's table". I guess serving the non-chef's tables is not as important? Just wish the quality of service was up to par with the quality of the food.

Delmonte beets have way more flavor than Ammtoli's version--extra side of dressing had NO flavor (how do you even do that with olive oil?). Pita bread reminds me of pizza dough. Each of 3 lamb chops was cooked to a different temperature, but the meat was decent; accompanying rice, with shriveled peas and other bits, had an unpleasant blend of seasonings (go back to the original pilaf version, please); the Jerusalem bagel was ok: warm and fresh, but lacked a touch of saltiness and sweetness. Wines by the glass range from an awful chardonnay to a mediocre pinot grigio in my preferred, white category. Although consistency has never been a strong point, at least two years ago the food tasted good. And given the demanding reservation process, was put off by the fact that my special request, for a banquette or window table, was ignored, although both were available when we arrived. BTW, neither Ali Ghzawi nor Amar Santana, spotted across the dining room, looked thrilled while we were there.

My two friends were visiting from out of town and I wanted them to experience the best Mediterranean food in Long Beach. We arrived for the tail end of happy hour and ordered the three way mezza platter with batta harra, muttabal and beet hummus. We also ordered their freshly baked pita bread and the Mediterranean fries. For entrees we split the arayes, jibne manoush with sausage and the sayadiyeh. All outstanding! Our server was Pete and he gave excellent food and wine recommendations. Overall an amazing meal and a must try restaurant when in Long Beach.

Everything good. One person’s salmon was over cooked. Waitress showed the chef. Offered to make another but we did not want to wait. They should have reduced bill but did not. Will still go back as the food was really good.

Booking a table was useless. We had a booking for 8:30pm, they didn’t seat us till 9pm. We finally ordered and 20 mins later they said that one of the dishes is not available and put us on the spot to order something else as somehow it was our mistake we were seated late and were ordering late. We only ended up ordering one main course as we couldn’t manage the undue pressure being asserted on us. Then we clearly saw the waitress was preferring the tables next to us as they had ordered wine and clearly were going to have a higher bill and a higher tip for her. From a restaurant of such stature I was very disappointed by the waitresses’s behavior and the inconvenience we had to get because they seated us 30 mins late, ran out of food and were forcing us unprofessionally to order ASAP as the kitchen was closing. Additionally it was pretty clear that parties ordering alchohol and bigger parties were incentivizing the waitress more. I have been a waiter and I understand challenges of unexpected delays that can happen but unprofessional and discriminatory behavior is just not acceptable. I am a fan of their food, have always gotten great service in the past and have always recommended this place but my experience on Friday 5/19 has scarred me. I hope the management looks into this and avoids such experiences from happening again. It would be sad that such unprofessional and discriminatory service would give a bad experience

From a Syrian person, the food was not that good! I am a foodie that goes on tries many restaurants. This one here is over rated due to the Ambiance.. it looks pretty nice. But the food taste is mediocre. I come from where this food is made. Beat salad: is just boiled peeled beets… Flafel: 5/10 compared to real stuff Shwarma wrap: was okay but the sandwich was barely stuffed with any chicken and the oily was dripping everywhere. We asked for some Pomegranate molasses ( table spoon) to be added to the sandwich or on the side.. they refused to do that.. The only good thing I tried there Jibne Manoosh with Sujok. That was 8/10. Service was pretty good. Ambiance was beautiful. Not cheap.. I wont go back sadly!

Waitress was pretty pushy in the beginning. Felt like she was trying to get us to run up our tab. Wish she told us dessert + ice cream are separate charges ahead of us ordering. Frequently gave us the impression that things we were ordering wasn’t extra. Then when we got our food, she didn’t show up to see how things were going.

Waitress asked if we liked Bread and we said yes. Then noticed we got charged for it. That is a trick and I dont appreciate it.

The service & food were excellent. They were gracious enough to accommodate me when I informed them in advance that I'll be late by 15 mins for my reservation. The service was superb and the hostess recommended us her favorites which were really good. You can order either 3 or 6 sharing platters and an entree that you can share. We went for the 3 appetizers and the mousaka and didn't regret the choices. The food is reasonably priced for an establishment like this. I wasn't that impressed by their wines and felt it was a bit overpriced. Once again, great service and food!

The other members of our party were from Lebanon and Jordan respectively and both felt the experience was very authentic.
