I cannot believe how much better the food is now! Really delicious.
Great craft cocktails. Friendly staff. Great service. Every meal has been excellent. Good energy and vibe.
Great drinks and loved the decor. Had the Brussel sprouts, beet gnocchi, cod, and rice pudding. Ben, our server, was amazing. So genuine, personable, and gave great recommendations. Loved!
We had a great experience overall. The service and food were both excellent.
Overall, a pretty solid dining experience, but some missteps. I appreciate the fact that AMIS is adapting its menu to cater to a range of dietary needs--gluten-free, vegan, etc. But at times it feels like it's just trying too hard to deliver vegan/gluten free dishes that it just can't execute well. On the plus side, the roasted cod was perfectly cooked. A chickpea flatbread app was undercooked and a bit soggy, although the toppings were delicious. I say can the chickpea flour--it's too difficult to work with--and create a plain flatbread with rotating "seasonal" toppings that most of us can enjoy! Also, a beet gnocchi entree was chewy and a bit grainy--lacking the light, fluffy, pillow-like texture it should have. Again, my suggestion is to lose the beets (you already have a few vegan "pasta" recipes on your menu anyway) and work on perfecting a plain flour gnocchi (or seasonal ravioli) with pesto or tomato-really miss the"Italian" focus the restaurant used to have. One other suggestion: let's bring the bread up a notch to "Terrain" quality if possible. We realize AMIS is still evolving and we'll be back to dine again, but I would advise the staff to focus on those dishes they can do really well!
Loved the food
Service was outstanding.
Incredible. We were there for the chef exchange night with the chef from Fortina. Our server, Ben, gave us EXCEPTIONAL service. He even gave our daughter (who was about to lose her first tooth) a "gift" from the tooth fairy. Honestly from the hosts to our server, everyone was lovely (we'll be sure to come back when Ben's on duty because we enjoyed him so much!). We truly felt like we'd been dining here for years, even though it was our first time. And the food. I had the bucatini with almond pesto and jalepenos. I will crave this dish for years to come. Perfectly cooked. We also tried the arancini special (decadent), gnocchi cacio e pepe special (so comforting) and zucchini parpadelle (healthy and delicious). Cocktails we're good as well tho wish I'd gone with wine instead. We can't wait to come back!
We were looking forward to trying Amis again after hearing that Chef Bengston from Terrain had taken over. Unfortunately it was a pretty poor experience overall, mostly service, but some food issues as well.
Server brought the bottle of wine we ordered, just poured it without asking anyone to taste. Then re-corked the bottle and plunked it on the table. Told us the chicken paillard was a favorite dish, there was no chicken paillard on the menu. Kept telling us that all the ingredients were "fresh". I sure hope they are!
There were literally 2 other tables occupied the entire time we were there, yet it took 40 minutes to get our appetizers. The salads were missing the cheese, and I wish I had taken a photo of it to compare it to the beautiful photo of the same salad the restaurant had posted on Instagram. Night and day. While waiting 40 minutes for the apps, I kept trying to get the attention of the server (or anyone), but all the staff were congregating down by the front door, chatting, on their phones, etc for most of the evening.
Entrees came, toast on the mussels was completely burnt. Pastas were okay. The host came by to ask how everything was, we said eh, it's okay, and he just nodded his head and left. For a restaurant trying to get back on their feet I'd think they'd be trying harder. Love Chef Bengston's food at Terrain, clearly she was not at Amis that evening, but the front of the house was really lacking. Disappointing.
Amis is one of my favorite spots! The ambiance is always great with pretty lights and a warm, rustic feeling. We went the other night and they were doing a guest chef series with music, which was amazing and really set the mood for the night. The guitarist wasn't too loud and played very chill tunes!
Always a great experience! This is one of my favorite restaurants:)
We loved everything about our visit to Amis: fun, swanky setting (not too stuffy or too loud), above-and-beyond service, tasty cocktails and delightful dinner from appetizers to dessert. We’ll be back next time in the area. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Brunch - menu does not properly reflect ingredients. Asked for dairy free, yet the chicken Paillard had butter in the sauce. The menu mentioned vinegrete sauce
Slow service, mediocre food, lukewarm temperatures. I will say the waitstaff was very friendly, though.
The food at Amis was wonderful! My husband and I tried the restaurant for the first time and it is now under new management. We each had the Restaurant Week menu and it was the perfect introduction to the quality of food presented at Amis. Great atmosphere, pleasant and efficient servers. The only thing I would change is the choice of music.
Thanks for a great time. We'll be back!
Food Mediocre at that. I came when they first opened and I thought it was awful so I thought I would come back and give them another try two years later. The wait staff was lovely but very very slow! It’s my pet peeve when I need to wave down a waiter for something
Very pleasant sitting in the courtyard on a beautiful day. Service was very prompt, courteous and not pushy. Wines bt the glass list was quite good and varied in price.
Delighted with Amis! Dinner was excellent but dessert is not to be missed. We had the rice pudding with cherry fig sauce and pistachios - unique and delicious! Dining outside made a lovely evening perfect.
Always pleasant to sit down in their beautiful dining room and enjoy good company.
Great location in the heart of revitalized downtown Westport. Food, service and ambiance are all very good to excellent. Tables are a little too close. If you are looking to have a private/intimate conversation I would not recommend Amis. Otherwise one of my favorites!
When you walk in and see a gloved chef (in the middle of prep) shoving food into his mouth.. it’s not a good first impression. ‘One for the bowl! One for me!’.
The restaurant was empty which was odd for a Saturday brunch.. however took about 10 minutes for the 3 waitresses to stop talking & seat us.
Food & cocktails were less than ordinary.
Goes without saying, we won’t be dining there again
A very pleasant experience! Great food and service.
Beautiful evening to sit outside. Salads were fresh and delicious with grilled chicken and salmon. Service was lovely
Nice environment, classy, relaxed setting. Diverse menu.
As always we enjoyed our lunch. My friend and I shared the meat and ricotta meatballs and each had a salad. She had the kale salad and I had the chopped salad. They were both delicious. I was not expecting the blue cheese in the chopped salad and would have preferred more tomatoes instead, given the season.
Perfect. Wait staff was awesome. Great suggestions!
We were excited to try it, but the food came up short. We ate what we ordered. But it just wasn’t anything that makes us excited to go back to eat there. That said, the atmosphere is nice. It’s a really nice space.
Excellent all around! Food, service, drinks and ambiance were fantastic. Great location in the downtown neighborhood area. Will definitely be back.
Both waitress and hostess were very friendly. Unfortunately they'd run out of the main course I wanted but the backup was good.
Staff very friendly. Pretty ambiance. Food was very good. Extremely understaffed. Service was very slow .
It was as good as the Philly original!
Small menu but, very good food. Home made pastas , fresh ingredients, make for great dishes. My fusilli with pancetta and parmigiana was outstanding. We will be back.
The service was very good. We sat near the bar. The noise level was acceptable. It was possible to have a conversation; though there was no band or singer that night.
The ambiance was designed for a younger crowd, but there were older folks and couples too.
The appetizer was over cooked, and blackened; also, it probably waited to be picked up. they offered to comp me on it, but I declined.
The main course was very good; it was also served hot, which I appreciated.
Bread and oil were placed on the table before the meal, along with gratis sparkling water or flat water.
The meal, along with two glasses of wine and one hard drink, with tip came to ~ $ 120.00.
about $ 60/person, more or less. if you are a teetotaler, and only tip at 15%, you may escape with a lower charge.
I would go back.
As always, amazing service and out of this world food.
Enjoyed the experience. Went with friends who also liked the total package. Need to expand the menu for as it is now it's quite limited. Will go back .
Great food. Great service.
Saw a little mouse. Won’t be returning.
While it's nowhere near as good as it could be, Amis seems to be on the upswing of late. Stay away from the pedestrian pasta courses, and you can have a nice meal here.
Great, love this place
Great experience. Food was very good and staff was attentive, yet did not rush us.
