We love Amis! I love the food, the ambiance, and the staff. Highly recommend!
We were warmly welcomed and shown to an ideal table for 2 in a corner. The waitress was excellent, helping with the wine & food options while allowing the time for a leisurely experience. My wife’s pasta dish was tasty but could have been hotter and less salty. My pork chop parm was crisp like I enjoy it but was dry and could have used more fresh tomato.
We definitely will return.
Really solid on all fronts
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. They came over to the table the perfect amount and offered great food choices. The eggplant chips were amazing! Both of our main dishes tasted great too. Definitely will be coming back soon!
Wasn't very busy for lunch so the services was excellent. Food was tasty and served hot. The prices were less than I had expected - always a nice surprise!
Been to Amis twice - both times "perfection". Made it there for an early New Year's Eve dinner. The food, service and entire staff were great. Very friendly people, nice ambience. Just a nice, neighborhood place to go and enjoy a nice night out.
The restaurant has a lovely bar and relaxed dining area. It isn’t too noisy to have a conversation. Appetizers and pasta are delicious. Chicken needed seasoning and eggplant parmigiana was over cooked. We didn’t have dessert.
Wonderful first experience, made our anniversary dinner very memorable. Can't wait to come back!
Everyone was very friendly, the food was wonderful, a little pricey. One person in our party received the wrong item and it did take quite a while for her to receive the correct one. The rest of us were almost done. At a minimum, they should have brought her bread right away but even that took awhile. That's the only reason I didn't give this a higher rating. A bit disappointed in the service - our waiter not as attentive as she could be; other people in restaurant did reach out to us. I would go back though. Easy to reserve table online.
Great meal and great service as always, pasta and pork chop can't be beat!
Our server Katie was just lovely - even though she was working on Christmas Eve. The food was yummy and we had a great meal.
Wasn’t expecting so many 4-year olds to be at the bar area on Christmas Eve, or that we would be seated between 2 “energetic” families, but the food was excellent.
Perfect! We came into town, no idea where to have a family pre holiday dinner. Found Amis on open table and booked a reservation. It was perfect. Right down the street from our Air B&B, food was fantastic, service great, an overall excellent dining experience!
Early dinner before theater, not too crowded at 6:00 PM. The vegetarian meatballs appetizer was amazing- tasty and succulent. We had the pork chop entree, which was prepared well and not overdone. The Veal Chop special was spectacular - well-seasoned, no gaminess, and not at all overdone, as is too often done at some restaurants. We shared a gelato sundae for desert, which was a perfect finish to the meal. The wait staff was quick and attentive. We'll be back!
Always above expectations! Great food, Great atmosphere, Fabulous Staff!!!
Was looking forward to enjoying the lovely ambiance and trying the food for the first time, but service was so bad that we left before we even had a chance to order. We sat for at least 10 minutes before the waitress even came to the table to welcome us and take drink orders, and then when 15 minutes had passed with no drinks, we asked if the order had been put in yet. We were told that they were ready and that she would bring to the table. We then saw her walk to the bar and she proceeded to mix our cocktails. We said thanks but no thanks and went to the restaurant across the street. Appalling service.
Fantastic cocktails, appetizers, desserts!
Entrees - meh
Pastas - subpar
Fun atmosphere. Delish food. My sister in law was very impressed!
Food is very nice although I would like to see a broader menu. They could probably use another server.
I really enjoyed dinner at Amis. Food was delicious and the service was just the right balance between friendly and professional. When the manager came over before we ordered dessert he suggested one but I was leaning to another so he brought over both (obviously without charging for the one I hadn’t ordered). My thighs don’t thank him but my taste buds do! Pretty setting and flattering lighting complete the picture.
All good except the bones in the branzino, thought a filet should not have bones, but everything else was amazing! Highly recommend the eggplant chips, and squash soup and amazing salad!
The service was okay. I expected better. Some of the drinks took long.
WARNING... check your credit card bill. We loved this restaurant, had a great time, and gave the restaurant five star reviews but we just got our credit card bill and they blatantly added $10, on top of the 20% tip we had given. Not an easy error based on the numbers written on our receipt.
Food was great. Service was just a little slow, albeit lovely.
We had a comfortable table, and the GM made a point of stopping by, which was appreciated.
Went for brunch fro my daughter's birthday. Both the food , cocktails and service were awesome. Courtney was our server- she was great. We will definitely be back
Amis Trattoria is a high-ceilinged, well-designed restaurant in a great spot, anchoring the new square in Downtown Westport. They make a great drink and take good care of you. Dinner was very good though overly salted. Saturday lunch was outstanding. Try it. . .it's new and already one of the best in the area.
Very good all around. Attractive setting. Excellent waitress with all staff attentive.
Service at the bar for glasses of wine was very slow despite there being open seats and a small amount of people. Dessert menu was tiny (in size, not variety). Food was good but not amazing.
Loved the service, food and ambiance. It was a pleasure to meet Colton and Taylor. Will come back again!
One of the best restuarants we have visited in the area. Great setting, casual and comfortable and a nice vibe all around. Food was prepared perfectly and everything was delicious. The service was exceptional. I would absolutely reccomend this restuarant!!
Another great meal here!
The food was fabulous! My husband and I both got the specials but were very impressed. Looking forward to going back!
"Meh" is the best way to describe the overall experience. While it's a lovely spot, the food is mediocre, the wine list small and overpriced (possibly more so than other Westport restaurants), and even with reservations you could end up seated right next to the busy doorway, or cramped behind a wait station. Even the very pleasant waiter commented on how bad our seats were. No need to return when other, much better options, are nearby (if not necessarily in town).
We had another great dinner at Amis Westport last weekend and look forward to returning next month!
Our first time trying this place and we were very pleased. Comfortable seats in the bar table area, overlooking open windows with lovely plantings outside. We ordered fried cauliflower and meatball appetizers, both of which were excellent. Veal chop, lamb chops and eggplant parmigiana entrees were all delicious. Nice cocktails and wine list, outstanding service. The only downside is having to park in the municipal lot and walk down the street, so wear comfortable shoes!
We enjoyed the restaurant week menu - choice of salads, chicken, fish and pasta entree choices, and limited dessert (melted ice cream the only complaint). Fun atmosphere and good service.
Service was slow. Side dish of asparagus just had 5 spears. Not many pasta options without dairy. Food ok
My husband & I enjoyed the restaurant. We were celebrating my birthday (quietly) & we both would recommend it. We arrived on a Sunday at 3PM thinking it was the start of dinner, as was listed their webiste. At first we were told that dinner didn't start until 4pm, that the website hasn't been updated. However, the waitress checked with the chef & we were able to get dinner. Simple cooking & delicious. Relatively good wine list. My only negative was when we entered the restaurant, there was no one around to greet/seat us for a few moments. It was a bit awkward just standing at the entrance. I noticed the same "no greet" with others entering a bit after us.
I hadn't heard anything about Amis since it opened (a while ago) and online reviews were decidedly mixed, but our experience was almost all positive. There are several different eating areas (including outdoors in the courtyard). I wanted outdoors and my friend wanted indoors; we were seated next to the big open window in the bar area which was a good compromise for both of us. For a Saturday night in the bar section the noise was not bad despite it being quite busy. Food and service both excellent with some innovative menu options. The fried cauliflower appetizer was unusual and fabulous (and plentiful), and my husband's lamb chops looked and smelled wonderful (and tasted that way too, according to him).e options I am a vegetarian and there were several viable options; I had the tonarelli cacio e pepe which was delicious but so rich I could only eat a little (brought the rest home ;-). The dessert offerings fell short and the print on the dessert menu was tiny (almost couldn't read it, which as it turned out would have been okay). Dress ranged from extremely casual to nice casual; I had changed my clothes but felt I could have come in what I had been wearing all day for shopping, etc. All in all a very pleasant experience.
