Excellent food. Great service. Nice ambience. A most enjoyable evening. We will return.
Everything was excellent: from the apps (eggplant chips and goat cheese bruschetta -- AMAZING together) to the entrees (rigatoni bolognese and rigatoni with pancetta and peas special) to the decor, to the service, which was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Couldn't recommend this place more. If you are looking for inventive Italian that doesn't stray too far from traditional favorites, this is the spot!
Outstanding customer service! Food is great! Highly recommend!
Very friendly service, from the hostess, to the bartender, and our server. They made sure we had what we needed without being obtrusive. Food was delicious, well prepared, and not your run of the mill stuff. Great for our get together, and we are looking forward to going back!
Good food (go for small plates over mains), energetic atmosphere, nice bar, great space. Our reservation wasn’t ready when we arrived but the ever-present host made us feel taken care of till we could sit (and after).
Refreshing spot, new to the Westport scene
Amis is a local gem. Lead by manager Colton Bloom, this is a wonderfully managed place with great atmosphere, service and food!
Limited menu with excellent appetizers and main dishes. Outstanding wait staff. Really good drinks. Great looking crowd on a Saturday night.
Had a 5:30pm reservation for two and was seated right away as the restaurant was not very crowded. We went with the rigatoni bolognese and porkchop parmigiana. My sister had the rigatoni and really liked it. I had the pork chop which was okay. The mozzarella cheese was just plopped on top after cooking, so it was cold. I mentioned it to the manager when he came by to check how things were. He must have mentioned it to the chef because he came back and said it was done that way because of the type of cheese and if it was put under the heat it would run all over or something to that effect. He gave us a couple of free biscotti as an apology and mentioned this was not the first time he had heard this complaint.
In addition, our meal arrived before our drinks. Not sure what happened because the place was not at all busy. Waitress could have been more attentive.
Birthday. Excellent lunch and the most delicious desert ever! Tiramisu and chocolate gelato! Haven’t had better in Italy!
Great evening atmosphere. Good and very well priced house wine. Good (but not stellar) Italian fare.
We were pleased to have a table in the comfortable bar section where the music volume allowed for conversation. Maitre D/manager Colton was welcoming . The food was quite good--the caponata, the salads, the salmon entre. Service was fine. Appreciated the choice of sparkling or still water, served gratis, and not too chilled. Overall, a great dinner. Will return.
Very comfortable atmosphere with attentive staff and good food. Dinner is prepared creatively.
The staff was very welcoming. The choices on the menus were very good and the service was excellent.
The manager, Colton, made a point of making our group feel special and cared for. Our server, Courtney, was delightful! The brussels sprouts and desserts were especially delicious!
We took my oldest daughter there for her birthday. We had reservations and were seated right away. They had some very interesting cocktails. I had the "Where is Smoke" it was very nice. A relative told us to get the Eggplant chips. They were fantastic. I was little surprised that they only had 4 pasta choices since they touted their pasta was homemade. My daughter and I got pasta dishes and my wife and younger daughter got the Salmon. All the dishes were good. We got two deserts that were very good. The only complaint is that the place was very loud.
Very nice setting, and a menu with many flavorful menu options. With some tweaks in service, Amis would be first rate in every respect.
It was a great experience. Casual nice brunch atmosphere.
Great restaurant, wonderful staff and food excellent. Menu entrees for dinner limited and there were no specials. My date and I shared the roasted cauliflower which was really wonderful. I had the Chicken Paillard which I had the last time I was there and loved it again. My date had the pork chop and really enjoyed especially since it was pounded as he likes it! Dessert was the vanilla gelato with crushed biscotti, excellent! Had a reservation and probably should have requested dining room as bar tables are very tight. But it was still wonderful and will be going back!
Best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in a long long time. Food is excellent and ambiance is fantastic.
Great service. Food was very good. Comfortable environment. Enhanced vegetable options would be an improvement.
We love Amis! I love the food, the ambiance, and the staff. Highly recommend!
We were warmly welcomed and shown to an ideal table for 2 in a corner. The waitress was excellent, helping with the wine & food options while allowing the time for a leisurely experience. My wife’s pasta dish was tasty but could have been hotter and less salty. My pork chop parm was crisp like I enjoy it but was dry and could have used more fresh tomato.
We definitely will return.
Really solid on all fronts
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. They came over to the table the perfect amount and offered great food choices. The eggplant chips were amazing! Both of our main dishes tasted great too. Definitely will be coming back soon!
Wasn't very busy for lunch so the services was excellent. Food was tasty and served hot. The prices were less than I had expected - always a nice surprise!
Been to Amis twice - both times "perfection". Made it there for an early New Year's Eve dinner. The food, service and entire staff were great. Very friendly people, nice ambience. Just a nice, neighborhood place to go and enjoy a nice night out.
The restaurant has a lovely bar and relaxed dining area. It isn’t too noisy to have a conversation. Appetizers and pasta are delicious. Chicken needed seasoning and eggplant parmigiana was over cooked. We didn’t have dessert.
Wonderful first experience, made our anniversary dinner very memorable. Can't wait to come back!
Everyone was very friendly, the food was wonderful, a little pricey. One person in our party received the wrong item and it did take quite a while for her to receive the correct one. The rest of us were almost done. At a minimum, they should have brought her bread right away but even that took awhile. That's the only reason I didn't give this a higher rating. A bit disappointed in the service - our waiter not as attentive as she could be; other people in restaurant did reach out to us. I would go back though. Easy to reserve table online.
Great meal and great service as always, pasta and pork chop can't be beat!
Our server Katie was just lovely - even though she was working on Christmas Eve. The food was yummy and we had a great meal.
Wasn’t expecting so many 4-year olds to be at the bar area on Christmas Eve, or that we would be seated between 2 “energetic” families, but the food was excellent.
Perfect! We came into town, no idea where to have a family pre holiday dinner. Found Amis on open table and booked a reservation. It was perfect. Right down the street from our Air B&B, food was fantastic, service great, an overall excellent dining experience!
Early dinner before theater, not too crowded at 6:00 PM. The vegetarian meatballs appetizer was amazing- tasty and succulent. We had the pork chop entree, which was prepared well and not overdone. The Veal Chop special was spectacular - well-seasoned, no gaminess, and not at all overdone, as is too often done at some restaurants. We shared a gelato sundae for desert, which was a perfect finish to the meal. The wait staff was quick and attentive. We'll be back!
Always above expectations! Great food, Great atmosphere, Fabulous Staff!!!
Was looking forward to enjoying the lovely ambiance and trying the food for the first time, but service was so bad that we left before we even had a chance to order. We sat for at least 10 minutes before the waitress even came to the table to welcome us and take drink orders, and then when 15 minutes had passed with no drinks, we asked if the order had been put in yet. We were told that they were ready and that she would bring to the table. We then saw her walk to the bar and she proceeded to mix our cocktails. We said thanks but no thanks and went to the restaurant across the street. Appalling service.
Fantastic cocktails, appetizers, desserts!
Entrees - meh
Pastas - subpar
Fun atmosphere. Delish food. My sister in law was very impressed!
Food is very nice although I would like to see a broader menu. They could probably use another server.
