Amis Trattoria - Devon
Great, creative food & very responsive service
Honestly one of the worst meals I’ve had in ages. We found the service pushy regarding ordering alcohol and felt rushed. My husband had a great meal here when it first opened, but things must have changed. The menu sounds great, but does not execute.
Fantastic dinner! We made a meal of appetizers for our party of 5, and they were all delicious. Our server, Mary, was fabulous....knowledgeable, friendly, and best of all, she had a great sense of humor which made our experience even better.
It was a wonderful experience. Service was great, the food was wonderful and the venue is charming, open and airy. My lavender martini was perfect. I will be back.
Bartender was extremely rude and waitress would bring food out with no utensils or little plates. They were a mess!
Great dinner. Awesome server Chris
Great all around meal. Can’t wait to go back
The butterscotch pudding was awesome. My chicken was delicious. The arugula salad had too much vinegary dressing on it.
In other words a mix.
The service was excellent. thank you.
Bartenders were friendly and outgoing, and the kitchen sent out beautiful looking plates.
The swordfish and eggplant was delicious.
Carly is a ace, great meal on a Monday
Service was extremely slow...we were sitting without being waited on for so long that one of the hosts ended up getting our drink order...and then that took forever to be delivered...it just didn’t feel like anyone cared we were there the whole time, and the food was completely bland on top of all that...won’t be going back.
Everything was perfect for our shared valentines birthday celebration !
Vetri must be spinning in his grave.
The quality of the dishes was sub par but still priced as if Marc was in the kitchen.
It was unfair to task our server to be the only one waiting tables in our section.
They mus have ran out of bread as our starters were served with crackers instead.
Friday night and Valentine's . So the house was busy. Server, Carly, Smart Personable and professional.
Carly gave good guidance for questions and wine recommendations.
Décor is hip and modern. Befitting a new place on the Main Line.
Food is well prepared. Baked salt cod was a hit. I enjoyed short ribs with turnips and polenta. We were both glad we also ordered a side of crispy Brussel sprouts. Very generous serving.
Prawns small plate was three pieces. So large we were calling them lobster tails. :-)
Great evening. Some tables are close enough to bump elbows. I don't mind chatting with other folks in a restaurant but this was intimate.
Definitely plan to return.
Small hiccup with our order in the kitchen but other than that great!
Husband loved chicken dish. I didn't like sweet potato lasagna which was one of the only vegetarian choices.
Service was fair at best. Menu is not for picky eaters.
We were there on a Saturday night when it was quite busy. It really did take too long to get our entrees. We waited over an hour. We had been there on a Sunday when it was not busy at all and the service was fine. The food is good and the ambience is fun so hoping they can get their act together.
The food was very disappointing. This restaurant has gone steadily down hill since it opened.
After having a long week of work during busy season, my fiancé decided to take me out for a nice date night. Not only are we a young couple, but we don’t give off that “old money” vibe which is the primary crowd here so it took forever for someone to bring us water for starters, or even to wait on us even though we made a reservation well in advance. When we decided on our food of choice from their extremely limited menu, the waiter recommended that I get shrimp with my pasta since what I was getting was just a fancy version of “butter noodles” which is nonsense in itself. So 45 minutes later when we get our entrees, mine comes with chicken instead. It turns out shrimp wasn’t available that night, so I chose salmon instead to settle the ordeal. We waited another 25-30 minutes for my dish to finally come back out which I know salmon does not take that long to cook to “medium” which they specified. In the mean time, my fiancé was offered a fresh entree since it was waiting on the table for that long. The manager himself brought out my dish and just said “sorry about that” and tried walking away. I informed him that the waiter offered him a fresh entree which the manager seemed hesitant about but brought him his salad approx. 5 minutes later not including the chicken that he ordered along with it and hurried away. After my fiancé decided to get up and inform him of this, they had a conversation right in the middle of the restaurant where the manager was just smiling at him not looking serious at all, took his food and bagged it up, meanwhile I’m eating alone at the table. So I decided to talk to him myself and the manager blamed my fiancé for “poor communication” and said the food was on him due to everything, however, that was not our goal, we just wanted to enjoy our dinner and time out. Long story short, the manager was extremely incompetent and douchey, and basically wrote us off and tried to rush us out of there instead of making sure we had a good experience.
Delicious mussels. Butterscotch pudding for dessert. Yum!
Overall we had a good experience. The food was delicious! Our waiter server was great but I think quite busy because service was on the slower pace. We were there for brunch and there were a few families with young children, which took away from the experience.
We expected much more from this place especially being attached to the wonderful Terrain whom has great food good service, and meets the expectations attached to the price.
The service was fast and attentive but in a way where they were just spinning the wheel, filling waters and getting the check, but zero smile, eye contact or even a ‘how is everything’. It was more of a, let’s see how quickly we can move on to the next customer sort of service experience.
The food for the price tag was disappointing. Completely tasteless greens underneath semi cooked scallops and an over dressed salad were the items I ordered.
Won’t be going back unfortunately. The ambiance was good though :)
The food was good but the service was terrible. It wasn’t the waitress’s fault. Something must have occurred in the kitchen because everyone was complaining.
we loved Amis, it was one of our favorite places. But the recent changes, new chef? have made us missing what Amis used to be. The open dining room feels cold. The menu lost some of its best features and some of the new dishes aren't great. The desert menu was very disappointing. We tried the goat cheese arancini, felt like we ate a ball of sawdust! The once amazing crispy brussel sprouts were over salted. My favorite rigatoni bolognense was still delicious but a little off. And a once crowded restaurant was very quiet. So sad.
Our dining experience was terrific from beginning to end
Great dining experience. We went for lunch and for the first 40 minutes had the entire place to ourselves . The menu offered a little bit of everything and the food was delicious! Can't wait to go back for dinner!
our meal was delicious at Amis. Portions are so large I am eating leftover Bolegnese at home for the 2nd time.
We have dined at Amis Trattoria many times. My chief complaint is that they rush you out of the restaurant even when it is not that full. We were done dining in less than an hour. The White Bean Soup was on the watery side. You usually think of bean soup as being hearty. The Swordfish was absolutely delicious though. My Partner is Vegan and there was a starter and entree option for him. Drinks and wine are well poured. As I said, we go often but it's not as good as the closed Amis that was in Philadelphia.
Love this place. Perfect amount of food. A little pricey but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ordered since they opened ! I rarely order chicken out but there chicken dishes are delicious ! As are their pastas , fish etc. bread is yummy!
great service! delicious food. the bartender created a unique drink just for us. how awesome it that.
Love Amis but they have made a lot of changes. Taking away the partitions in the dining room has made it louder and less intimate. They have also gotten rods of some of the best menu items including the potatoes, the crushed tomato pizza, and the garden salad. And no Italian beers at this Italian restaurant. Not as excited to go back.
Small shared plates gave us lots of opportunities to explore several deliciously delightful dishes. Will definitely be back!
Our family of 8 had a reservation to celebrate a special birthday. Our table was in the bar area, not the dining room, we sat and waited a very long time (45 mins) for someone to take our drink order and by that time we were starving and ordered our apps. After another very long wait most of our drinks arrived except for the b day girls which took about another 30 minutes to arrive. (They apologized and comped the b day girls drink.) Our apps arrived around the same time and finally we ordered our entrees (our menus still sitting on the table when our apps arrived). We waited at least another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My sons chicken was so overcooked and dry he could barely swallow it. All our entrees were served on very hot plates as if they sat under the heat light for a very long time. Pasta was tasty but dry on top again as if it sat under the heat lamps. By this time the b day girl who just got over the flu was exhausted and needed to go home after our 3 hour dinner experience and we left without getting dessert. Nobody ever apologized for the wait time other than the cocktail. I don’t kno if they were short staffed our what the problem was but it was one of my worst dining experiences ever. I’ve been to Amis numerous times in the city and to this location one other time and every other visit has been wonderful.
Quiet, pretty. It was New Years Day, though.
N. Y. Eve. Tasting menu was creative and well conceived. Short rib melted in mouth And Porchetta was amazing
Service was stellar to start the night and took a turn for the worse when a neighboring table arrived and became pretty high maintenance. Squeaky wheel gets the oil I suppose. Unfortunately we're not complainers so ended up with the short end of the stick. Will give another try before giving up.
Love this local place, but the food has not been very good lately. New chef maybe? We will try again and hope other locals will also, because it is a well located spot, but many other alternatives available nearby, so they need to fix the kitchen.
We will definitely return
Salty to the point of inedible
