Delicious duck pate with side condiments of mustard, blueberry compote and pickled onions came first followed by a Russian salad which is a variation of a potato salad with peas and ramps and carrots. Our entrees were skirt steak with creamy jerusalem article puree and delicate little crispy potatoes. My husband had a pork chop with a kind of chicory sauce on a bed of white beans. Dessert was a spectacular tart with poppy seed and an orange custard filling with a lovely meringue on top. I’m getting hungry just recalling it! Thus is my favorite restaurant not only for the innovative menu and excellent food but I love the cool fun ambience and the wonderful laid back but totally professional staff. Highly recommend!

We went to Amilinda for our anniversary dinner. We loved everything about this place and will definitely be back again. The steak was as perfect as I've ever had and the mousse alone is worth coming back for again. The service was also excellent and the host was fantastic.

A wonderful dinner and experience at Amilinda! We enjoyed several appetizers, drinks, and entrees. I love the seasonal menu options such as the tomahawk pork chop and the curry chicken. The piri piri shrimp and the smoked scallops really stole the show! We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef and owner, Greg. He was such a pleasure to chat with and we cannot wait to be back!

My wife and I visited Amalinda for her birthday celebration. We wanted to try Spanish cuisine before our trip to Spain later this year. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the man himself; Chef Gregory Leon; a twice nominated James Beard Award and twice Beard Award semifinalist. The restaurant is a small intimate restaurant with the remnants of 100-year-old Milwaukee’s famous Cream City brick forming the wall where the tables are located. The aroma of dishes being prepared within view of the dining area teased our taste buds as we enjoyed a birthday celebratory glass of sparkling Cava wine while studying the menu. Our servers John and Alexander were attentive and informative, answering our questions regarding appetizers and entrées on the menu. The menu at Amalinda changes weekly to feature seasonal and the freshest ingredients at the time. Tonight the menu offered 4 appetizer choices and 4 entrée choices consisting of beef, chicken, vegetable or fish entrée. I discovered quality not quantity is the emphasis at Amalinda! We ordered the Piri Piri Shrimp and Escalivada as appetizers. These are served cold. Each of the appetizers delighted us and provided a symphony of flavors. My wife chose a curried chicken entrée, and I selected the Monkfish for my main course. The dishes were served in a bowl. Both entrees were outstanding. My wife raved about the mingling of curry and chili spiced chunks of chicken in her dish. The Monkfish was some of the best I’ve ever had. It tasted like a tender lobster in a light sauce with hints of Almond. Alexander assisted us in choosing a Spanish wine which complimented each entrée. His choices were spot on. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want to sample what Spanish cuisine prepared by a James Beard caliber chef is like, Amalinda is your place to dine.

Underwhelmed by the menu offerings. I don’t mind a small menu, but the dishes seemed kind of lackluster. There wasn’t anything I was excited to order. Cocktails and service were fantastic.

Food was way overpriced for what you get, service was excellent.

Thank you for your feedback—we’re truly glad to hear you had an excellent experience with our service. We're sorry to hear that the value of the food didn’t meet expectations. We want to share some context: every dish we serve is the result of careful planning, skilled labor, and a commitment to using high-quality ingredients. Our team works hard to source the best raw materials—many of which have increased significantly in cost due to inflation, tariffs on imported goods, and ongoing supply chain challenges. On top of that, we pay our team fairly for their time and talent, both in the kitchen and on the floor. We understand that dining out is a choice, and we’re grateful you chose to spend your time with us. We hope you’ll consider visiting again.
