My husband and I had an anniversary dinner there recently and had an outstanding meal. I highly recommend it!
We ate here on a recent Saturday night and came away disappointed. The first problem was the service. Our waitress seemed to be very uninterested in taking care of us. When we asked her to give us a tour of the menu and her recommendations, she basically said, "You order food on the menu and we bring it." No wine suggestions, no food recommendations, no small plates or large plates suggestions. She took three trips to deliver four drinks for some reason. The last one came fifteen minutes after the first. We had a 7:15 reservation and got our main dishes about 90 minutes later.
Some of the food was good. They have a very limited menu of 5 entrees and the chicken was pretty good but filled with bones. The shrimp appetizer was tasty. My fellow diner was unimpressed with the Hangar steak dish. Two of us ordered the Monkfish and both found it to be bland and rubbery. We all tried it to confirm and it just wasn't good.
At the end they gave us a small cookie/macaroon type thing with the bill which is a nice gesture but even that was grainy and not really good.
I had heard good things and hoped for better. For $230 including tip I expect a lot better and usually get it at a number of other fine restaurants downtown.
Great food and the chef even came over and made sure everything was great at our table. Would highly recommend as a place to eat reasonably in Milwaukee. Our waiter was just OK though (might have been new). Overall, highly recommend.
The food and sangria were delicious, but portion sizes are small for what you pay. Waiter was friendly and welcoming.
We love the atmosphere, the food is tasty and the cocktails are fantastic. Service is great but they seem to be overloaded, perhaps thats to be expected on a Saturday night. We thought it might be nice to have some soft music playing in the background. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed this. The asparagus appetizer was great and seemed to be a favorite around us also. She had the fish,I had the porkbelly and both were great. We had a peach/rasberry cobbler and chocolate tart, both great.Andrea was our waitress and she was very attentive and knowledgeable while spacing the courses just right. We'll be going back.
Amilinda is our go to restaurant for innovative farm-to-table cooking in Milwaukee. Everyone if very friendly and it has a real family feel. The wine list is also of note and the cocktails are superb.
Always flavorful offerings in an intimate venue. Knowledgeable server...never rushed. Desserts sounded amazing..will try next time..too full !
Server wasn’t knowledgeable of wine list or menu. Food was not good. Disappointing after hearing such good reviews.
I am a cook in Chicago and this menu is truly impressive. Very eloquent and very detailed. My fiance and I were there celebrating our engagement and we were treated like gold. I was very happy we chose our celebratory dinner here. Staff was very professional and the head chef was very friendly. Besutiful menu and dinning experience.
Food was fantastic and our waitress was so friendly. Underwhelmed by the decor, but it’s a great intimate setting for great conversation. I was worried it would become too noisy, but it stayed pleasantly quiet enough to hold a conversation, but not so quiet that it’s creepy.
Nicely curated (small) menu with interesting appetizer and main options. Great wine list -- all options available by glass and bottle! Highly recommended!
Food was ok, not as good as previous trips to Amilinda. Service was uneven at best, our server was more interested in up selling than great service. I've had great meals here in the past, but this one was not one of them. We'll give Amilinda one more try, hopefully this eveing was an aberration.
Great food and service.
The food was delicious and the service was very good.
The asparagus pate was amazing but I was underwhelmed by the smoked duck appetizer. The chicken entree was savory! We all enjoyed the Rioja rose
Very creative food & drinks! Waitress was knowledgeable, attentive & kind. Would be more than happy to enjoy another meal there!
Lovely visit to Amilinda on our stop into Milwaukee. The food and drinks was delicious, plus the overall service and ambience was splendid. The rainbow cookies at the end was the best way to end our meal!
We both felt that the food was not flavorful , is was cooked OK , just did not have much taste .
Gregory Leon is Milwaukee’s premiere chef. The food is delicious & the ambience is casual & chic.
The octopus and the appetizers were amazing! The monkfish was delicious as well. We enjoyed trying some different wines. We will be back!
Excellent dining experience! Waiter surprised us with a complimentary glass of champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary. The Piri Piri Chicken was delicious! Better than the one we had in Portugal! Cabernet Sauvignon was perfect. The dessert we shared, chocolate/caramel, was yummy! We highly recommend Amilinda.
meat and chees board made a great interim course between the apps and main course. creative cocktails included the Ibiza and the de whiskey. skirt steak was super tasty!
Cozy digs, friendly service, and world class food! Can’t recommend highly enough :)
Service was great! Thought the menu was creative but outcome was above just above average.
Really liked what they tried with food menu but I wasn’t blown away with my chicken/sweet potatoes purée. My partner picked out the monk fish and said the same. For deserts we tried the lime cheesecake (awesome!) and the pistachio cake. The pistachio cake was super dense and was more rock than cake.
Overall I’d give it another try because the service and atmosphere were stellar.
Our experience was outstanding! The food was superb, the staff was so kind and knowledgeable about ant questions we had, and the ambience was just right.
We will absolutely be going back again, and soon.
Fantastic food and excellent service at reasonable prices. The server (Allison?) was attentive, but did not hover, and never once hit us with that moronic question that seems so common in restaurants these days: "How is everything tasting?" We will specifically ask for her the next time.
Background music was pleasant enough and consistent with the Spanish/Portuguese theme of the restaurant; volume was ok, but might be turned down just a little more (compared to other restaurants it's already on the quieter end of the spectrum, which is good, but consider making it even quieter).
We had a delicious experience at Amilinda. The service was great and the atmosphere reminds me of being in a restaurant in Europe. They were very accommodating to my dairy allergy. We we will be dining here again.
Can’t say much for the food...
loved every moment! unique bill of faire, eclectic décor - fascinating art and our server very focused and complemented our dining experience! highly recommednded!
Amilinda is the perfect place for a special dinner. Food is unusual and incredibly delicious. Do NOT skip desserts! I'm an official member of Clean Plate Club at Amilinda!
Ordered the Seabass. It was fantastic! Had a vegetarian flatbread for an appetizer. Amazing! Loved the current, blackberry tart, for dessert.
Amilinda always delivers great food with service to match. Sunday brunch was a special treat with a fun and delicious take on chicken and waffles. How about a carrot cake martini?
Amilinda always delivers! When I found out they were offering a winter brunch menu I could not make a reservation fast enough. We brought our relatives from out of town who appreciate a great dish and we all had a wonderful time. The table shared a Jamon Serrano & Gruyere Toast - which was amazing and a plate of Torrijas (Spanish "french" toast) which sort of tasted like the best doughnut I've ever had? But not too sweet? It was amazing. Individually we had the Fried Piri Piri Chicken & Waffle which had a subtle sultry spice to it but was not spicy, the Carcamusa which had a deep flavor to it - full of spices and substance, and the Serrano Ham Coca which I regrettable didn't get a bite of but had rave reviews.
Good feel and good creative food, nice people. WE will be back.
WOnderful small menu with terrific thought. Great service. Modest and charming and right downtown.
Absolutely fantastic food and cocktails as always. I always enjoy my visits to Amilinda and will definitely be back!
Unique and delicious food options in Milwaukee -- and the drinks are great, too!
Always the best experience when I go! Looking forward to the next time
Had brunch there last Sunday. Everything superb. Drinks tasty and generous and oh, the chicken and waffles, what a masterpiece. Carcamusa also sensational. Dinners there are equally good.
