Always good service and fine food. Extensive wine list, and the servers' recommendations are top notch.
WE LOVED THIS PLACE!
Authentic Spanish/Portuguese dining at it's best.
All courses were excellent!
From the outside Amilinda is very unassuming. Upon entering we could smell the amazing food.
I had the Goan Curry Roasted Chicken - it was amazingly flavorful and very fresh tasting.
My husband really enjoyed his Beef Espatada; it was cooked and seasoned well.
Had an excellent hangar steak with a corn cake. Always enjoy Amilinda.
Our first visit to the restaurant. The place was busy with a fun atmosphere. Our server was excellent and the wine menu was good. The food menu is somewhat limited - my wife had the chicken and I had steak. The flavors were very good and I would recommend the cauliflower dish as an appetizer.
A good experience and a place we will probably visit again!
Outstanding attention to detail in the service and food preparation / presentation. HOWEVER, the portions are skimpy for the price (ex: $22 for a chicken in coconut corn sauce was one chicken thigh, no rice, no potatoes. $10 for a cauliflower appetizer was about 1c. of cauliflower with herbs, spices. This is too exorbitant for humble ingredients IMO. Especially for Milwaukeeans, who tend to be value shoppers with, em, robust appetites.)
Absolutely wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Milwaukee is lucky to have such a phenomenal restaurant right downtown!
The creative flavors were outstanding! The wait staff was excellent. Highly recommended!
Excellent warm service with awesome food and drinks choices . Loved the setting and everything
We really enjoyed the whole experience! It reminded of us a restaurant that you would find in NY or Chicago! We had a martini during the 'Bees Knees' event and truly enjoyed the whole experience! We had abeef and a shrimp dish, and cauliflower and lamb meatballs as starters. This is definitely a restaurant that we will be happy to return to. Our best to Chef Gregory!
we can always count on a great meal at Amilinda. Hats off to Chef Greg Leon
Great food, prepared fresh daily with excellent service!
Brutal Not going back. It makes sense why the need to use City Tins
Food was good but very overpriced. Service was slow.
Fantastic as always. One of the top restaurants in Milwaukee. Not to be missed.
We have dined here several times and always have enjoyed wonderful and knowledgeable service and an excellent meal. Although the menu is not large, every item is carefully created and is delightful.
In just three years Amilinda has become a gem in the Milwaukee dining scene. Cuisine is authentic, service is exceptional. If you didn't know, you would think you were in Barcelona, Madrid or Lisbon. It's very close to major downtown hotels, including the Milwaukee Marriott half a block away. Visitors should be aware of the exceptional dining experience just a short walk from their hotels.
We celebrated a birthday with a group of six. The atmosphere and service was excellent. Upscale but relaxed and comfortable. The food was exceptional. The combination of flavors and ingredients made the meal special.
What a gem for the downtown area of Milwaukee! Visiting from NC and my cousin recommended Amilinda. Food was delicious. The watermelon and cucumber salad with feta was a wonderful mix of textures and flavors. The lamb meatballs were just the right amount of spicey. My waitress recommended a riojo wine that was a perfect accent with the meal. Hope to eat there again soon!
A cute restaurant with delicious food & wonderful service. Will definitively go back!
Excellent food. Drink menu and wine list is for real..... Professional drinkers will appreciate. Its not inexpensive.
As usual, this restaurant serves fantastic food. Delicious cuisine, prompt and competent service are always the norm when dining at Amilinda. Thanks for another great dining experience!
We went here for our anniversary and the food was wonderful. Their main dinners are gluten free so that was nice to have many selections. My only recommendation would be for Amilinda to include gf rice crackers w their cheese plate (which was an app). Otherwise great service and excellent food!
Best meal ever from the appetizers to the dessert. Everything was phenomenal.
Always quality food in a creative yet accessible menu. House made Sangria is a winner, as is the wine list. Cocktails are worth the try too.
Great food well presented. Exceptional wine list featuring less well known Iberian producers. We were pleased to see a 2007 available by the glass. A destination restaurant.
On a recent trip to Milwaukee we came across this restaurant - great food , good ambience , fabulous service. I had the steak and my husband got the chicken; we got an egg appetizer which was fantastic and my kids split the chorizo. All of us loved our meals.
Amilinda is by far an all time favorite restaurant of mine. I have dined at Amilinda for business, fun, fund raisers, and family get togethers. Chef Gregory Leon is such a gift to the Milwaukee dining scene. His menu is always changing to incorporate the freshest ingredients in the most creative, beautiful, delicious way imaginable.
What can I say, this place rocks! Keep up the amazing job!
The food was tasty but very small portions. The heirloom salad was delicious and fresh. The rolls were cold. The fish was very well prepared but came with a small amount of root mash and was not enough to eat. They could have added some vegetables to make this more of a meal. The empanada was crisp and tasty but had very little filling compared to really good empanadas. Overall it is a very nice meal but you may leave hungry.
We’ll come again
Five of us ate an early dinner here on the last day of a conference. We had a nice table in the back and were able to relax and converse, even as the restaurant gradually filled with hip couples and parties and the background noise level increased. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful, checking on gluten-free options and answering lots of wine and ingredient-related questions. The food was delicious throughout the menu-- cheeseboard, empanadas, heirloom tomato salad for starters; lamb merguez sausage, sea bass, hanger steak for entrees. We all felt lucky to have opted for this spot as visitors to the city and the foodies among us were well-satisfied.
My first time at this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was great! I plan on visiting again in the near future!
Every dish is so thought out with crunchy, bitter, savory, rich, acidic, sweet; it's a flavor party in your mouth. You also need a spoon because there is this broth that forms at the bottom of each main that can only be described as awesome sauce. Service is amazing. The entire staff is amazing.
Food was delicious and Service was Outstanding-
We will be back
First time at Amilinda but won't be my last. I had heard good things about the food but was pleasantly surprised. The wine list was great - particularly if you like Spanish or Portuguese wine
one of our favorite spots to eat out in Milwaukee. It's the perfect size with an excellent small, but broad, menu. Milwaukee is lucky to have Chef Greg Leon in our midst.
This place is always amazing-the chef really does a good job of making you feel right at home. The menu is unique & always inspiring! Best gem in Milwaukee-find the red door!
For anyone who likes Iberian (Spanish/Portuguese) food or wine, this place is a rare gem. Thoughtfully chosen small rotating menu highlights what Chef Greg is all about, fresher than fresh ingredients prepared with just enough heat and spice to coax all the natural flavors to the foreground. His husband, Orry has put just as much care into the unique and extensive wine list. Be sure to ask him or your server for recommendations and/or a taste. You will come away learning something new. The environment is intimate and friendly, great date spot or for larger gatherings. Sit at the chef’s bar for an inside glimpse of the kitchen at work and the chance for a chat with Chef Greg. If I lived closer, this would be my regular hang out.
I have been looking forward to trying this place out after seeing all the rave reviews from my friends on FB. I am a world traveler and foodie. I have been to Portugal, Spain, France, England, Austria and many other countries in Europe and Asian. I am no stranger to diverse foods.
This was a very disappointing experience. The appetizer was ok and nothing to write home about. The Serrano ham and melons does not take a genius to make but better quility ingredients will make it stand out . The entree was lukewarm and the flavors was very blend (and no it’s not because I am use to over sauced or over flavored American food. I have dine all over the world and have been to many of the top restaurants of the world). The peach tart dessert was room temperature with a scoop of ice-cream. If the dessert was warmer it would have created a better contrast with the ice cream.
One good thing abt the dinner is the good service from the waitress. She was open to our feedback and tried to make the best out of the situation.
