Food was good, not great. The service was good and staff very friendly and mostly attentive. The price was a little high for the types of food and difficult to get into the parking lot.
Appreciated that we could have conversation even with other large parties.
We would go back- maybe for a date night or small group.
This was our first visit to this Sardinian style Italian restaurant in Rockville. The food was very good and it was a pleasure dining there. We had a great bottle of Rosso di Montalcino at a reasonable price. The ink fettuccine with branzino was great as was the goat ragout.
Our first visit at their new Rockville location won't be our last. Our entrees were all delicious, including AK char and goat stew. The flourless chocolate cake was just right for the 4 of us to share. The limoncello and 3 different grappas we had to end were fun and reminded us of Florence. Overall, great food and service, good wine list, and a total fun evening.
We chose Amici Miei based on Open Table reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Loved the quiet, sophisticated ambiance.
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate our third anniversary. We were greeted with the friendliest smiles and continued to have amazing service throughout the night. The staff really take care of you and make you feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Amici Miei! This is the kind of place we want to keep coming back to for a long, long time.
First time dining at the new location. It was not a good experience. The menu is over price for what you get and the service is random. During the course of the meal, three different people took "care" of us. We were not offered bread, but other tables had bread baskets. I will not be returning.
I thought this place was really special enough to take our guests out for an early dinner. And then there was Francois, the delightful and knowledgeable French waitperson -- full of info about good wines, Europe, and the delicious food. This is a really delightful place! If you haven't tried it, you are in for a real treat when you do.
My wife and I decided to go out for dinner rather than the usual take out. OpenTable helped find Amici Miei as the desired cuisine was Italian. And what a find!
We arrived to a place that was about half full. Figured it had to do with The perfect storm of Spring Break, Passover and Easter hitting at the same time. We had a reservation so we were seated promptly, and greeted by a jovial buona sera from what has to be the best waiter we’ve had in forever. My wife ordered the Amici salad and the half rack of lamb chops that were the special for the night. I had this amazing salmon carpaccio and the veal scallopine. With it all, we had a nice montepulciano red that went great with everything. The lamb was delicious and done perfectly, the veal nicely done with roasted potatoes and spinach. After dinner my wife had the tartufo, this chocolate gelato creation she denied enjoying immensely. I had the ricotta canollis with a grappa and espresso. A great way to end a wonderful meal. Prices were about average for downtown Rockville, the wine being the most expensive item on the bill, which was expected. Entrees were about $30 each, but well worth it. The restaurant itself was nicely done and, again, the staff was excellent! Strongly suggest you try Amici.
My good friends birthday. It was wonderful. Treated us like queens
This is a review of their new downtown Rockville location and menu. My friend and I both had a lunch featuring fish. One was Salmon and I had the Trout and we split a side of linguini. So for Italian fare the recipes , ingredients and presentation is authentic and true to a Tuscan theme. The red sauce is light and less spicy than southern cooking and the fish is served also with a natural taste not saturated in butter or an imbalance of oils. Service is professional and experienced to accommodate preferences and recommendations. The wine list has some Italian reds which are a nice venture off the beaten path of California offerings. In summary everything plated gets equal attention to detail and finished flavor making this a great place for dinner or lunch routine.
Ambience and service made a good, early impression. The food has always been tasty.
It's really great to have a good Italian restaurant in the Rockville Town Center area. Varied menu and everything cooked perfectly. My only criticism is that their wine fridge is set a little too cold for white wine. The wine we ordered was reasonably priced and very nice. We will go again soon.
Disappointed in the food. Not as good as in the past.
First visit to the new location. The food was as good as before, but the service was slow and disorganized, and the ambience leaves much to be desired.
Great good and service
Food was wonderful. The menu is very nice. Lot of variety.
Though it has found a better home in the heart of Rockville this “neighborhood gem@ continues to earn that title. Our service was impeccable from being seated to having several folks check in with us throughout the evening to ensure we wanted for nothing while we were there. I can’t tell you how good the pasta is, you just have to experience it for yourself. Warm, friendly and delicious.
Great food as always. Staff were excellent and well trained in their skill.
Fabulous dinner as always. Love their new location in Rockville; much more intimate but without any change in quality.
Dinner was terrific at Amici Miei. Our dishes were superbly prepared - one was the Jerusalem couscous with fresh artichoke, mushroom and shrimp. The other was the Sardinian gnocche. Very interesting entrees. Service was excellent - even on a busy Sat. night. So glad this neighborhood gem didn't move too far away when relocating to Rockville. We'll be back.
We wanted to try their new location. It was nice - the people are super friendly and accommodating. The food was ok - nothing great. I wish they would being back a veal dish they had years ago that was outstanding!
Outstanding! The bar was set high and this place delivered.
Excellent home cooked Italian food. The menu is just the right size. The new location is a bit smaller than the old but the food is just as good.
Authentic Italian cuisine. Great food and better service!
We were enthusiastic about trying out the new location. It's very convenient. Parking is validated & free for 2 hours. The atmosphere is quite pleasant - cozy and comfortable. You can hear conversation easily. The service was terrific and we had good conversations with the waiter, owner, and even the busboy. They all thanked us for coming! I had chicken Parmesan and my husband had venison. Both were good & we shared an Amieci salad. We'll be back.
1. Lime in my wife's drink should not have been served (way old).
2. I was told by server they could make a pepperoni pizza, only then to be served another pizza entirely...had I known this I would have ordered something else.
3. Once we told server we were not quite ready to place order...he stayed away for at least 10 min.
4. Bread served after we requested, but olive oil not served until we made repeated requests...again...this took another 10 min.
It's hard to find a good, cozy and comfortable restaurant. We went based on the reviews and it was as good, if not better than what you read. Food is great, service is friendly and it was a great overall experience.
First time at the restaurant and will go back to try other menu items. Excellent service and waiters attention to details was exemplary.
This was our first visit to their new location and we wondered what it would be like. If anything, it was better than the old location. We’ll be back often
DELICIOUS food served by old world waiters. The service was outstanding. The restaurant did have a bit of a strip-mall feel, but nothing some updated décor couldn't change. I can't wait to go here again.
First time in the new location. Warm welcome from Roberto and his staff. Familiar menu items with a few new additions. Food and service were excellent. A great addition to Rockville town center. Looking forward to trying for lunch.
Loved it. Food was great but the service and personal experience were the best
The menu and service were up to the expected level we enjoyed at the former location, excellent. The bonus is that the restaurant is now in our neighborhood.
We had never been but took a chance based on reviews. The staff was very attentive and engaging. The food arrived quickly, hot and received great reviews by all. We had a range of entrees including fish, chicken, lasagna and the pasta special. The homemade pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back. It was a fun night! BTW we were happy to have made a reservation for our Saturday night outting.....we were seated immediately but the place was packed with a wait for others.
Roberto and Davide are in their new spot but the quality of the food and friendliness continue at an exceptional level
This destination has been a mainstay for our family since it opened. Roberto and Davide, the co-proprietors do a tremendous job providing high quality food at reasonable prices (given that quality). While the Potomac restaurant is closing ahead of the move to Rockville, I'm confident they will maintain the high level of quality of food and service their customers, including our family, have come to expect. If you like authentic Italian cuisine, ranging from wild game, to steaks, seafood, house-made pasta and pizza, I think you'll love Amici Miei.
Glad we got to visit one last time before they shut down to move to Rockville. Good food and service as always. Can't wait to see the new place when it opens!
Our neighborhood gem!!! We will look forward to joining them at their new location in Rockville!!!
This is one of my favorite establishments and I am looking forward to their new location in downtown Rockville
Awesome food service and ambiance!
