There are better Italian options in the burbs. The food is okay. The pizzas aren't much better than a decent frozen pizza while the pasta is decent. The service always seemed overwhelmed, which distracts from the meal itself.

The food is always good, always fresh, always dependable. Love the staff and will miss it when it moves just a little further away. It's so easy just to pop in for dinner. We will be back.

Amici Mei has long been our favorite restaurant in the Rockville area. The food is authentically Italian, the best we've had outside of Rome. Seasonal specials have always been excellent. We like to split three courses, having a salad, pasta and entree. The amount is just right. We love the service as well. The restaurant is moving to a smaller space in downtown Rockville and we hope that it will do as well there.

My husband took me there for my birthday. We just wanted a casual place with good food. It was Halloween night so it was really quiet in there, which is great. We were seated immediately and we could hear each other easily. We found the staff friendly. But the waiter knew it was my birthday and never acknowledged it. I was surprised that the menu was so limited. Not many items to choose from. I settled on a pizza and it was ok. Not the best, not the worst. We split dessert which was a flourless chocolate cake with crushed almonds in it. It was tasty. I wouldn't go running back to Amici Miei. It's fine, but not much more.

Amici Mei is worth the trip. I am partial to their homemade pasta Bolognese 1st course and rockfish entre, which is always fresh and well prepared. They also have a good selection of wines. The staff is professional.

Amici Miei is a local restauarant gem in Potomac/Rockville area. Casual atmosphere, great food and wines equals total success for a fabulous local restaurant in my book! A must visit at least once a week for local residents. Jeans OK! The point is the food. AMAZING!

We enjoyed a late night light dinner sitting outside on a pleasant evening. Food was quite good (we split salad and lasagne), and our service was excellent. Nice neighborhood spot!

We have been coming to Amici Miei ever since we read about it in the Washingtonian's list of best restaurants and have never been disappointed since. The quality is excellent and the service and staff wonderful. When guests accompany my husband and myself to dinner here, I never have to worry if everyone will be happy.

Continues to be a good neighborhood restaurant. Has reduced amount of selections on menu and liked it better when there was more to choose from.

This is one of our 'go to' restaurants -- casual, nearby, very good to excellent food and pleasant service, all at a reasonable to slightly more price. On this Sunday evening visit we started with the Salumi platter and it was excellent. Together with a bottle of wine and some crunchy bread, it could have been a meal in itself. But we didn't stop there, of course. One entree was the special branzino; the other was the veal scallopine with mushrooms. Both were pretty outstanding. The branzino was fileted before presentation. The skin was crispy and the fish was perfectly cooked. The veal was succulent and there was a lot of it; the mushroom sauce was lovely. We finished with coffee for one and espresso for one. The latter was so good that it was reordered.

This is a comfortable local spot that has very authentic Italian food. It is not a typical "red sauce" trattoria. Influences from Tuscany, Sicily, and Sardinia are in the menu and daily specials. I do think the decor is a bit tired. The wait staff is good but tends to be a bit brusque. They have the best calamari, nicely mixed with some shrimp, and their fish dishes are outstanding. The lasagne is light and airy in contrast to the often leaden versions of many popular places in this area. We will be back!

We love Amici Mei and have been going for years because we're lucky enough to be within a few miles. The owner is such a kind and friendly man, the staff has been the same forever and the food is amazing and always inventive. If you have an opportunity, I highly recommend a visit!

Amici Miei never disappoints! The food is fantastic, portions generous, and good value. Don't miss the specials, and the branzino is perfectly grilled. One of my favorite restaurants in the suburbs.

Amici Miri has been my wife's go-to spot for years. In the two and a half years we've been together we've probably averaged one visit every two months, maybe more. I subscribe to their weekly specials email and we go almost every weekend when Vitello Tonnato is the special appetizer -- it's fantastic!! This past weekend we found a new favorite -- Tuna Carpaccio. Delicate and tasty and just right. The staff is great - service is always wonderful.

We hadn't been here in a while — but hope to return soon. The menu was great, the food delicious. Their soups in particular are home-made and nourishing, and my bronzino was perfect.
I recommend this restaurant to all.

Every time I go, the service is great. Roberto is always so welcoming when I come in it feels like seeing an old friend! Came in with a friend I hadn't seen in while and we were never rushed. We took our time and enjoyed our wine (Monday is no corkage !!!). We ordered a pizza as appetizer and then ordered our entrees. I ordered "Spaghettoni di Gragnano with mussels, clams &
head-on shrimp in a light tomato sauce". It was Excellent, from the flavorful seafood to the perfectly cooked pasta. Every morsel was gone using the bread to get the remaining sauce.
mmmm

Asked for carbonated drink. Waiter miffed when I did not want wine. Went away in a huff. Did bring the requested Italian carbonated drink. Eventually took our order with a sour face. Service not great. Food arrived. My shrimp and scallops on "home made pasta" had 5 very small shrimp and maybe ten scallop PIECES, yes PIECES! Pasta and sauce just OK. Not recommended

One of the finest restaurants in the Potomac area. Great {Gin} martinis. The attention to detail in preparing fish is outstanding. The Italian choices are exceptional. It is a pleasure to be greeted and attended to by pure professionals.

We had high expectations based on the reviews but found the service and food just okay - not great but not horrible. My wife told our server about a shellfish allergy, but our server didn't mention the appetizer we ordered was fried in the same oil as shrimp so she didn't get to eat it, which was a bit disappointing. My entree of shrimp handmade fettuccini was underwhelming in terms of flavor. The service was adequate but not genuine or warm. We would consider going back but not anytime soon.
