The restaurant was nice. It’s very cozy and has good lighting for a special occasion. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. We got a drink from the bar which was good, because our server didn’t show up for quite some time. The other couple in our party was really looking around for a drink before he came. My pear bourbon drink was innovative and tasty. The wait on the food wasn’t bad. The tacquitos we got were good, but over fried and super crispy crunchy. The hummus was very nice, well-presented and tasty. The presentation of the meals is fancy and the food all looks tasty. The water glasses were small which means our server needed to come back frequently, which didn’t happen. We were left looking around quite often for him, as we were often left without water.
Overall a nice place. They have a nice small menu. But it was noisy and service was subpar for a Saturday night. We were disappointed but would try it again sometime.
Food was very flavourful and delicious. We specifically loved the calabazita (pumpkin with mushroom risotto), Barramundi and Asada - although all the dishes were great. I had forgotten how good the food was and am glad we went here for Mother’s day dinner.
Symphony of flavors!!! Just interesting execution of the medley of ingredients in every plate. Kudos to the chef! Will be back again.
Excellent food and terrific service.
Food was unique, flavor profiles were fantastic. Service was snappy and server was great.
Though a somewhat limited menu, all items are very well prepared. Excellent presentation and service to match. Highly recommend for a night out in Oak Park.
I took my husband here for his birthday, and when I made the reservation, I asked for a cake with a candle. However, my request was ignored by our waiter. Being that this is my husband’s favorite restaurant, this experience was especially disappointing.
Potbelly is a must try... though you really can't go wrong with anything.
Be adventurous, bring friend(s) to share and have a great dinner, you will not be disappointed
I love the food, the staff, and everything about Amerikas. I just found out they are offering brunch so I'll be there weekend mornings now too. Eric is the best waiter and a delight. Go. You'll love it. We had guests in from London who were very pleased and will remember the night and the menu for years to come. They also modified the dishes for my gluten free and vegetarian needs. I got plenty to eat. Don't miss the chocolate dome for dessert.
Easily one of my favorite spots in Oak Park! A wonderful variety of beautiful small plates and delicious cocktails.
This is the second time I’ve been here this week - by far, one of my favorites. Phenomenal food, great service and amazing ambiance. Treated a friend for his birthday and without asking, the wait staff added a lit candle to our dessert. Highly, highly recommend! Great job, Armando and staff!
Wonderful food! Great service, too. Higly recommend.
Even though our dinner began with the statement I least like to hear from a server, "Our portions are small so you can share," everything we ordered was excellent. The waiter was very helpful in guiding us toward good food selections and helped us pick a very good wine. When the food was served one plate at a time it seemed that every item was even better than the last. We were there on a very slow night, a Monday, but felt no pressure to hurry even though we were the final customers. A very good dining experience from start to finish.
Lovely and quaint little spot in Oak Park. From the food, artwork, and service my husband and I truly enjoyed our experience here.
This was our first time here and I can definitely say we will be back. We stopped in for brunch on a snowy Saturday, but felt warm and welcome inside. The French Toast was a nice plate to share and paired well with the pomegranate mimosa. The chorizo Benedict and chilaquiles were a great savory balance and went great with the spicy bloody Mary. Everyone we encountered was friendly and made the experience even better. We'll see you guys soon for dinner.
Delicious plates, attentive servers, committed to great flavors.
Remains one of the best options in Oak Park -- a hidden gem.
Wonderful food and great service. Everything is unique and full of flavor. Save room for the chocolate dome!
Excellent food, very good service. Only issue was noise level was too high for conversation.
Very loud room that can accomodate a large group but make reservations way in advance. The food was delish especially the vegan! The Cauliflower dish was voted the best out while the Rellijo Pepper was a pass yet better than the rabbit. Overall, we would definitely go back - the staff was personalizable and even though a larger group, took good care of us.
We've visited Amerikas several times and have always enjoyed the food. The asada with chimichurri is excellent, as is the chocolate dome dessert (which also has a great presentation). On the most recent visit, a Saturday night, the staff seemed somewhat overwhelmed. We were not greeted by a server for 30 minutes after we were seated, and we had to go to the host stand to get a server assigned to our table. The noise level also was deafening. I think the restaurant provides a better experience on slower evenings.
The food was great. Wonderful flavors It's just a little loud for conversation.
Amazing food and cocktails! Every single dish we had was delicious. They paced our plates perfectly and did not rush us. Plus, they put us in a secluded section so we could talk with our group. Highly recommend and must save room for the chocolate dome!
This was an incredible meal and experience. I'm a vegetarian and I found lots of options, including the cauliflower dish which I still can't stop thinking about. For meat and fish-eaters, the barramundi and pollo come recommended. Everything from the amuse bouche they brought us at the beginning of the meal to the beautiful and inventive desserts was memorable and delectable. Also, the service was great. This restaurant made a celebratory night even more special. I can't recommend it enough.
The food at Amerikas was terrific, some of the best we have had in Oak Park. And the woman who was serving us was also wonderful. Two problems, though: Our drink order at the outset was put in on time, but it took almost a half-hour to get the drinks to our table. They need more bartenders! Second, the noise level was unbelievably loud. I am not sure how to correct this in a restaurant this size, but something needs to be done. I will say that we were very happy that when we asked them to turn the music down, they actually turned it off. Bravo! But the voices rattling off the walls up and down the restaurant were incredibly loud. Once again, the food was fantastic, and we hope to be able to go back when these two issues are addressed—or take out!
great food, very good service in a quaint atmosphere
Service was excellent and food was delicious. Menu is small, but has a nice variety. A note at the top of the menu was a bit confusing, implying that the dishes were small plates intended to be shared. Entrees were full sized (although we did share a bit). Split a large and wonderful salad. A very nice special occasion place.
They are a new restaurant so they are trying to figure a few things out like staffing. However I will give them a break because the food was really good. I recommend you give it a shot
The food was excellent and the service good. It was very busy at 6:30 and louder than we would have liked.
This was a repeat visit to the restaurant and we were very disappointed with the service. The bar tender was also the waiter and it took at least 15 eningminutes before we were waited on. Beyond that, some of our food was not very hot although it was still very tasty. My husband had a mescal margarita which he said was much stronger than the one he had at our previous visit. Another waiter eventually showed up to take care of other patrons but that did not include us. My husband eventually had to go to the bar to ask for our bill. Not the type of evening we were expecting.
Unusual, very flavorful food. We liked everything we had, especially the scallops, octopus, and duck.
The bowls, one with pozole and one with beef, were very flavorful and a nice value for lunch.
Exquisite, flavorful and well presented food And it’s fun to share too. Was incredibly delish and we will be back.
Great job by servers and chef. Timing of dishes coming out was perfect and everything was HOT when came to table. Excellent flavorful food. One of my new faves.
From drinks to food everything was amazing!
Everything was so delicious and unique. I recommend Amerikas!
Amerikas is definitely my favorite restaurant in Oak Park. They are consistently incredible and I haven’t had a bad meal here and I’ve been going for over a year. Their balance and variety of flavors is amazing and I recommend this place to everyone.
As before, the food was excellent. We shared the calabaza, chile relleno and the branzino. All were great, although the calabaza could have had more seasoning (perhaps just salt?). Service was helpful and friendly if not always attentive. A minor misstep included the service of the third dish while we are still finishing the second. Still, we will go again!
