Every dish we tried had a new, unexpected, but amazing combination of flavors that was fantastic. We can't wait to go back and try more.
This was my second time at Amerikas. First time had great service and overall experience was top notch. This second time, services was excessively slow. They also never brought us the soup that is always provided at the start of the meal, so that made the wait time for the first course feel extra long. When they brought us the dessert menu, the waiter took almost 20 minutes to come back to us. At that point we were annoyed and just wanted our check. We did noticed another table kept getting a lot of the waiter's attention, but not ours.
Food was delicious but a little pricey for the small portions. Loved the overall ambience. Definitely worth a try if looking for a new spot but not a place I'd go regularly.
We have eaten here a couple of times and decided to go here on Valentines Day. What we didn't realize until we showed up with an early reservation was that only a prefixed 5 course meal was availible. Not the tapas style options we have had in the past. I didn't mind the higher price since I know you usually end up paying more for restaurants like these whether in OakPark or Chicago. Nonetheless with wine paring the total price would be higher than I expected to spend. The salad selction was interesting especially with the cashew sprinking, the seasfood was excellent, lighter crab crabs and tasty fish with squash. I don't eat much meat so I had the braised ribs boxed to take home to my son and my wife at that point was too full to eat much of hers too. Plus she said it tasted a little oily. dessert was excellent and her cocktails were somewhat tasty. I had beer for a change and loved the 5 rabbits selections. I would go back for the traditional menu but will stay away from the holiday specials here.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Can’t wait to return!
Second time going here. The drinks are delicious, the steak is spot on and the dessert is always the perfect ending.
We love Amerikas! Chef Armando Gonzalez really knows how to cook. Everything we ate here is done perfectly. We love every dish. Must try--chocolate dome!
I had the Tacos (with braised pork belly), which was unique and tasted great. My friend had the Chorizo Eggs Benedict; creamy hollandaise sauce was nicely teamed up with spicy sausage. This restaurant indeed deserves a title of "Nuevo Latino"!.
This was such a fantastic dinner, both my girlfriend and I were so pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service. Coming back soon, no doubt!
Outstanding meal and service. Great ambiance, sophisticated yet hip.
Quiet Sunday brunch. Service was a bit slow but attentive. Very good food and well presented
Amerikas has a small menu but covers all the bases, vegetarian to carnivore. They talk about small plate sharing but the portions are ample, carefully prepared, nicely plated and attractively presented and they taste as good as they look. They have a full bar and do cocktails, wine and beer. We actually have never left the beer list so cannot talk about the wines available or the cocktails but this neighborhood restaurant is rapidly becoming a local favorite.
Fabulous food every time!!
Delicious brunch. We had 4 different entries. Everyone was delighted. That never happens. Fresh, well seasoned and great options. Loved it. Service is consistently excellent with staff backing each other up beautifully.
Great food, great cocktails. Best restaurant in Oak Park right now.
One of the few restaurants in the area that is equally great for both vegetarians and omnivores. The service was attentive and friendly. Our only quibble is that it can be very loud - maybe some noise absorbing wall hangings or other acoustic fixes would be in order?
Excellent staff and food presentation. WE made reservations and suggest doing so on a weekend. We are looking forward to our next visit.
From the moment of walking in to being the last couple out the door, everything delighted the senses. Fantastic! Definitely do it
The menu is small but that allows the kitchen to do a great job on each dish. The presentations are very attractive and everything tastes even better than it looks. There are vegetarian dishes, seafood dishes, meat and fowl dishes so all tastes should be satisfied. A great beer list kept us from even checking out the wine list. We would recommend Amerikas to all.
The food is amazing also the service is really nice
New Years Eve . Great !
Love this place
Food and wine was great
We had an excellent meal at Amerikas. The food was uniformly excellent, as was the service. The tables are a bit close together, and the noise level gets very loud by 7pm.
Outstanding find in central Oak Park (Hemingway District). Armando (chef and owner) modified 4 great dishes to fit our dairy-free needs, and visited our table to introduce himself despite a busy rush. The cauliflower was delicious and an unexpected surprise. The duck, the chicken, and the lamb were all fantastic, and we couldn’t decide which we liked best. Everything went well with the Montsant. Price was very fair, if not a bargain, for the quality we received. We will be back for sure, and soon!
Service little slow but food was good.
Good food and creative menu. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Very efficient, very welcoming. No pressure, no hassle. We ordered several entrees and passed everything around, so everyone found something to enjoy, even the children in our party.
We love the food and the service is friendly and attentive
Great food with seasonal ingredients! The service was excellent and the environment very cozy.
We went last night with another couple and I chose Amerikas because I've had the pleasure of eating Chef Armando's cuisine before. We started with hummus and the acorn squash. I ordered the hummus which I've had before at Libertad and the squash was chosen by our wonderful server. My friends were adventurous and let the server chose for them. Then my wife had the Octopus with spanish chorizo and I had the Carne Asada with yucca fritters. My friends were given the Lamb Chops and the Barramundi and they literary ended up licking up the plate, needles to say my wife and I did the same thing. We finished the night with a chocolate dome.
We all had a wonderful time. Noise level was just perfect where we were able to carry out our conversation and still listen the background music.
Thank you Chef for all your attention and also for having the right staff.
Amerikas is good I can’t believe it’s in Oak Park! We been at least a dozen times and found the food and the service to be consistently excellent. At our most recent visit this past Saturday night, everything we ordered (the cauliflower, the mussels, and the duck) was absolutely delicious. One usually has to go into Chicago to get a meal this good. And it’s a great value at this price point. I highly recommend!
Love love love Amerikas. Incredibly tasty and creative food; service is friendly and polished.
Food was great and waiter was accommodating but not particularly attentive.
This restaurant never fails to serve dishes with fabulous flavor profiles! Great service and ambience--highly recommended!
Former team from libertad at Skokie. Good cocktails good food but nothing new from libertad menu.
My wife and I went with another couple and loved the food, cocktails, service and ambiance. The food was delicious and cutting edge, but in a good way!
Everything was delicious and wonderful. The only thing that they didn’t have was a baby changing table in the ladies bathroom. We will still absolutely be repeat customers
Amazing food. We food crawl Chicago’s best and this oak park outpost fits with the best of them
If you are looking for a wonderful dinning experience, you must try Amerikas. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and attentive and we all had a wonderful time.
It’s always a great experience at Amerikas. We went to celebrate their one-year anniversary. The place looked great, service was excellent as usual and the food was awesome.
