Amerigo - West End Ratings and Reviews
The food was great, like always. But our reservations weren't kept in their system so we sat in the bar area. The server was not personable and visited rarely to drop something off and leave without saying anything. It wasn't my favorite visit here. Most of the times it's outstanding.
We were in town for a very short time and wanted to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the Nashville scene, this was a great place without having to travel. Food was delicious and our server was outstanding. She listened to our needs and didn't try to push things on us she knew we wouldn't care for!
Visiting the city for the weekend with friends. Was looking for a nice place to have dinner that didn't break the bank. Food was very good, the ambiance comfortable. Our server seemed a little frazzled at time but she was also tending to a few bigger parties. We weren't in a hurry so it was ok.
We have been to Amerigo many times, but it’s been a year since we’ve gone. The food was very average, service was very average and it was a Friday night and there was no wait. I understand why now. This is a once very good restaurant and has gone to very average- unfortunately we won’t be back
We eat in Amerigo 4 times a year and are never disappointed. The menu has a nice assortment of Northern Italian dishes. The service is always good. The atmosphere is light and airy. The place is clean and quiet. It is especially a good value if you dine between 4:00 P.M and 6: 00 P.M. when they have their early bird menu. Nice assortment of appetizers and desserts. If I had clients coming to town and had one restaurant to take them to, this would be the one.
Made reservation and did not have to wait for a table. No problems with parking. Clean well-kept bathrooms. Table lighting was dark, too dark to read menu without additional lighting. Service was good and the meals my brother, wife and I ordered were all very good. I had a Mac-Cheese-Lobster dish that was very filling. House Red Wine was very tasty. Overall we were very pleased with the visit and will go there again as our church is less than a block away.
Amerigo delivers again. While the main dining area can be busy and loud, we were seated in a back area where the noise level and ambience are more intimate. Between the quiet space and the professional attentive service, it can feel like a private dining room. Perfect for a nice birthday dinner. We tried the mussels for the first time and I think they were the best I've ever had. Tender and full of brothy goodness.
We made last minute reservations thru open table. Got there and our server was obviously already overworked but pleasant. Took quite a while just to get drinks. The bartender finally delivered them to our table. We ordered from their gluten free menu which they advertise as extensive...even hanging a banner outside stating the number of gluten free offerings. Not so much...no more so than most other restaurants with gf menu. Food was ok. Nothing special but decent. It was really the service that was bad. As I said server was overworked. She took mine and my daughter's plate back to box instead of bringing boxes to the table. She brought the check as she took the plates to be boxed. It took over 20 minutes to get the boxes food and we had to request it 3 times. She "found" them in the kitchen thinking they had been thrown away. I'm afraid of where she found them! She didn't ask if we needed anything else when she dropped off check...no dessert or coffee. We saw her once for the greeting, once for the delivery, once for clearing the table and bringing check, and finally upon tracking her down for our boxed food. Just unpleasant and the food doesn't make it worth recommending because it doesn't overcome the poor service.
Food was great as usual, service absolutely terrible tonight. Freezing cold, sat 15 min before being greeted, had to ask another server for more olive oil because we hadn't seen our server in so long, and then when he did come by I asked for more water which I never received (and he never even realized he forgot). Disappointing experience this evening.
We went here for dinner on our last night in Nashville. I ordered a ribeye steak but was informed that they were all out of it. So I ordered the Filet instead and for some reason they were going to cover this expensive piece of meat with alfredo sauce so I told them to not top it. I received my steak and it was cooked wonderfully. It was a little bland which is why I think they would top it with the sauce because otherwise they did not season it at all. It was still delicious and like I said cooked perfectly. They should take advantage of that. My friend got the spaghetti and it was delicious also. I recommend this restaurant but I wish they would have had the ribeye!
Having been to Amerigo's in Cool Springs for brunch many times, my wife and I wanted to try the West End location for dinner. Overall, the food was outstanding, but the service was slow and spotty.
We splurged with a bottle of their best Pino Noir from Oregon, which was excellent. For and appetizer, we split the mussels, which were truly to die for, some of the best I have ever had.
Very sweet and savory, with a soft broth filled with tomatoes. My wife had the wild mushroom ravioli, which also was outstanding, with a very savory cheese sauce. I had the stand by salmon acuto, which is the chicken version and substituting salmon. It tasted very fresh and the salmon was cooked perfect, but it did not hold a candle to the ravioli. We both had Caesar salads, which were very good.
For dessert we shared pecan apple fritter with ice cream. It was good, but too much after the other courses
Next time we will share the mussels and have dessert.
