About Américas River Oaks
The third incarnation of Américas, the global culinary experience from famed chef and restaurateur, Michael Cordúa, is now open in the heart of River Oaks. Partnered once again with celebrated architect and designer Jordan Mozer, who brought his outstanding talent and vision to the original Américas in 1993, Américas River Oaks will be a unique dining experience that represents the weaving of South, Central and North American cultures and cuisines—from Alaska to Chile. Cordúa, whose reputation as one of the leading proponents of authentic Latin cuisine, returns to his foundational roots and creates a stage to showcase the yummy foods that the Americas have given to the world. Continually blazing a trail of New World cuisine that keeps critics raving, FOOD & WINE recognized Cordúa as one of the pioneers of the modernization of Latin cuisine when naming him into the Hall of Fame: 50 Best New Chefs of all time in 2008.

Américas River Oaks Ratings and Reviews
WOW. The impeccable service from the moment you enter, decor, MOD, beverages, brunch variety, quality, flavor... and Mustache A.K.A Eric our top notch server, made this brunch one of our best in HTX so far. Stellar. I could go on and on. Definitely will return. Wondering how this place is below the radar?! Stumbled upon it online and couldn't believe I got a reservation for the next day. Once word gets out what awaits you after a short elevator trip to the 2nd floor, I suspect they will be a hard table to get for brunch alone! A truly unique experience that sets them apart from the masses.
4 in our party. 2 ordered the surf and turf special of the day (lobster and Churrasco), 1 ordered sea scallops and 1 the Churrasco’s steak with the Stilton. The lobsters were tasty, but the steaks were not very tender. The worst was the scallops, size was good but they did not taste fresh. The textile was on the gummy side. Disappointing meal.
My daughter and her friends ate at Americas before the St. Thomas High School Homecoming Dance and they LOVED it! Several of the girls had not been to Americas before and said they could not wait to come back. The STH Homecoming Menu was a huge hit!
Thank you Americas for providing great food and service that night to teenagers!
Went for my 15th anniversary and was quite perfect for lunch. Not crowded, about $50 for us both, including drinks. Back support of the big chairs are molded plastic which is oddly comfortable. The food was prepared just fine, just maybe not our kind of taste, we prefer Asian food. Would recommend it as well as would go back and try different things.
Went for the last day of Houston restaurant week, and as a celebration of the beginning of a new job. Very excellent service. The server was very observant. For my appetizer I asked for no onions, and the server also request for no onions on my entree. Would absolutely go back.
Our server Aldo was friendly and didn't rush us through the meal. We celebrated a friend's birthday and he did an entire presentation of a flaming tres leches cake, very cool. The carnitas very tasty and the chicken breast with plantain crust was crunchy and flavorful, it had grilled smoked cheese layered with it.
The food was really good like always except i noticed they were running out of a few popular items and they were not re- filling fast enough. Also, the server was extremely slow, we had to ask other servers for refills because he would take too long to refill coffee and drinks. We asked for picante sauce and it was brought halfway through our meal😔. The manager needs to ensure that the servers hired are very efficient , have common sense , and are quick.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at America's River Oaks. We came for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and left stuffed and satisfied. The food was diverse for everyone's pallet and delicious. The ambiance gave an eclectic dining experience. Would definitely return. Great drink specials too!
The restaurant was quiet because it was a Tuesday night and it was only half-full. We had a group of seven including 2 from out of town that we had not seen in several years. We met for dinner and had a fabulous time. The restaurant's decor is very whimsical and a wonderful change from regular restaurants. We had a round table, and that made it so much easier for everyone to connect with all the others at the table. And though the menu is now a bit smaller than it used to be, the options are still varied and extremely well executed. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal choices. And you must leave room for dessert. Don't miss it.
