Américas River Oaks
Great experience the food is good and the staff was very friendly. I will be back soon and recommend it to my friends and family.
We had lunch on Easter Sunday. Since we had a reservation, we were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. Our waiter brought water, took our drink orders and explained the buffet selections.
The food was outstanding. So many choices to satisfy every appetite. This was not our first time at America's, and certainly won't be our last.
Made reservations but had to wait 35 minutes to be seated. Mass confusion as this was happening to more than us. Food was fair, desert table was small, not much in the choices.
Always the best Brunch!
The restaurant was quiet on a Friday at 6pm, which made me nervous. I hadn't been there since prom in the early 2000's and had fond memories(old location). By the time we left it got busier. Our meal was great. Plantain chips with 2 great sauces, ahi tuna appetizer and 2 solid entrees. Service was solid and the timing was just right to allow for conversation. Decor is unique, but a bit silly in my opinion. They would be better off starting fresh and just painting the walls some nice colors. It is a good overall restaurant.
One of the most unique atmospheres for a restaurant in Houston. We absolutely love their lamb chops and their tiramisu for dessert is wonderful.
Great place for casual to formal dinner.
This is my wife and my favorite restaurant for our anniversaries.
The paella special on Sunday is fabulous. Great value for your money with delicious food.
The food here was very good, they have quality plates at a reasonable cost. Our server was attentive and knew the menu very well. I will be going back to Americas.
Food and service were excellent and menu provided a variety that suited all parties!!!
Wonderful variety of food and it was all delicious!
Amazing food and wonderful waiter. We love coming to Américas because we are never disappointed.
Unusual decor, exciting menu, attentive service. We were very happy with our seating, the low noise level and outstanding food and wine! Wish I lived here and could dine here regularly.
As usual, enjoyed a great meal with a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Always a great place. One of my favorites restaurants and happy hour spots.
The kids love the buffet. Has a lot of wonderful choices. We would really appreciate actual bananas in the crepes and not the plantains.
Brunch food was cold or room temperature. Omelette station was good but didn’t make up for mediocrity of other food. Even coffee was room temperature.
This is always a good go to in Houston. The ambiance is fabulous and the service is always consistently great.
Americas is a long-time favorite of ours. Went there with clients Saturday night and the quality of the food was way down. Service was excellent as always, but if they can't maintain their usually high standard for food, I won't be returning. Fish was poorly seasoned and overcooked. Steaks were the same.
We had a fine meal and excellent service. Our waiter was most helpful in helping us select food and drink. Would like to try their Sunday brunch.
Went for a wine dinner, our first. We will be coming again and again. The food and wine were perfectly paired. We love food and wine adventures and this was a great one.
The food and service was excellent as always.
I thought the entrees were priced a little high, but the food & ambience was great and our server was very attentive.
The best food and ambiance ... excellent waiter ... took care of all our needs... excellent
The paella was wonderful. The service was superb! Love your coffee!
Everything was fantastic from the food to the service and ambiance. Very impressive.
The overall experience was fantastic. Our server Luis was on point the whole night. I brought a date and she absolutely loved it. We stepped out of our comfort zone and tried something new and I'm glad we picked this place. The food however was small portions on a night plate was alright. Drink are expensive as I noticed at the end of the night my bill was beyond what I thought it was. Definitely a place you should save up for. But overall it was alright.
Amazing food, great service, and love the atmosphere! love this restaurant!
It was a great dinning experience. The steak was the best we have ever eaten and the service was excellent.
The wife and I decided to try America's for the first time on Valentine's day. We made reservations 2-3 days in advance so the earliest option that was available was 9:00pm. We figured we would be done by 10:30 at the latest. As we arrived, obviously the place was packed, but we were seated within 15 minutes.
Long story short...It took 15 minutes for the waiter to make his first round to the table. By then we were ready to order so we did (appetizer, entree, and desert). Appetizer arrived in 30 minutes, the entree another 30 minutes, and desert at 11:00pm (which we asked for the bill right away and still took 15 minutes). Food was absolutely tasteless, except for the mediocre tres leches. Waiter gave us literally a handful of gift cards ($20 off when u spend $80 or more on your NEXT visit). Seemed sarcastic. Either way, the restaurant was clearly not staffed appropriately and the food alone was hard to eat. Beautiful ambiance though.
The was not memorable and definitely not worth the amount of money I paid.
Excellent service! I value service and your staff provided it.
Setting was warm and romantic. service was fast and efficient. food was absolutely AMAZING! the tres leches at Americás was to die for! would definitely take my girl out here again.
Food OK, but service was very poor. Check the staff for drugs.
A place as exclusive as America’s...you order a steak...you would expect a steak knife. Instead I’m having to ask for one and wait while I stare at my food knowing its getting cold. Then I hear the person sitting next to me experiencing the same thing.
The A/C was turned down too cold. I did not ask to move because the whole restaurant was cold.
Poor and inattentive service. This was supposed to be romantic Valentine's evening, but we spent most of the time trying to get the attention of our waiter... Overpriced "special and only option" menu with hefty up-charges of $10 - $15 for select items.. Really!!??!!
