Great atmosphere. Used to be an old filling station. Smaller menu, but good selection. Food was delicious.

The changeover from The Boathouse amounts to a coat of white paint, re-branding, and a revised menu. It used to be PACKED on a Saturday night. No doubt COVID-19 fears and rainy weather didn't help, so we shall see.....

Just ok. I had a burger I could get anywhere. Service was great but lots of empty tables and a large party loud was seated very close behind us with many empty large tables all over the restaurant. This Ended our conversation — we had planned for another drink after dinner but left for a different place.

The food looked way better online than in person, and so did the photos of the restaurant. We were expecting a new vibe and it still looks very similar and smells awful.

We were all disappointed with the food at the New Americana Taphouse. Honestly, I've had a better cheeseburger at McDonald's. The fish and chips were exactly the same as the "fish sticks " on the kids menu, except one more piece of fish. My wife's pot roast and grits were subpar as well. All in all, I don't think they made a good decision changing to this restaurant. Wont be back.

We found the Taphouse to be just OK. We loved the boathouse and wanted to give the new concept a try, but I doubt we will be back anytime soon. The service was excellent, the food was well prepared, but was expensive for the portion size. We also found the menu to be limited and not unique to other restaurants in the area.

I went on Valentine's Day 2020. The restaurant had only been open 2 weeks since changing its concept from Puckett's Boathouse to Americana Taphouse. I had an early reservation. The food was good. The service was a little slow considering it was early and not yet very busy. I definitely plan on returning!

I was hoping to get excited about a new place. The lighting is overly bright. The noise level is so high (nothing to absorb sound) that you can’t hear a conversation. The menu is the same old thing - Nothing outstanding. The cheeseburger was very mediocre . You would think that there would be better cheese than processed American slices. The fries were greasy.

There are better burger restaurants in the area.

I know that you are a new restaurant and that things always have to ironed out, but our service
can only be termed poor. The server was not particularly attentive--we ordered an appetizer and
never got it. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert.

Food was poor quality and over priced. We order corndog appetizer that was cooked in a deep fryer that has not likely seen an oil change since restaurant opening. The cornbread exterior was soaked in oil and smelled like old oil. My $11 burger was the size of a McD's small hamburger and burnt. My wife ordered a $33 scallop entree that had 4 scallops on it. Son ordered fish and chips only to learn that don't have tartar sauce available. Bad, overpriced food.

It was my daughter’s birthday dinner as specified in my OT reservation. There was no mention of it by staff. I brought it up to the server, but nothing more than a “oh, happy birthday” was done to make the night special.
The server spilled beer all over my jacket (required a cleaning) but nothing more than a “oh, sorry” was done. Was still charged for the beer. No manager made an appearance at our table.
We started with a wedge salad. Good, but pricy for what it was. Her burger was overcooked and my fish tacos were tasty, but unbelievably small. ...the equivalent of 2 tiny fish sticks. I could go down the street to Mojo and get ones bigger for $3 each. (Instead of the $14 Here)
Even though I live around the corner, I don’t imagine I’ll be back.

We were very disappointed with the ambiance as the lighting was very bright. They were out of several items on the menu as well. It was a Friday night and there was no music what so ever. They should remodel the bathrooms as they have only 2 single toilet bathrooms which are either gender. The food was good but not outstanding although we were disappointed with the ambiance so maybe it was better than perceived. Doubt that we will go back which is sad beachside we did like the Puckett’s Boat House.

Hi Jeffrey, First, we want to say thank you for coming out and giving Americana Taphouse a try during our first week open. During your visit, we were still making a few transitions from Boat House, and have corrected many of these items that you have mentioned. Our lighting and music have been corrected, and our beer taps are up and running. We do hope that you change your mind and come back and see us.

To be successful changing from seafood specialties to burgers and fries, you MUST nail the fries. Burger was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Fries were the worst I’ve EVER been served (greasy, wobbly, dark, al dente, ick!) Service was great but 35 minutes before close, when I’d been there just 25 minutes, staff started mopping the floor with bleach right behind me and another person came through the dining room carrying trash cans to be emptied.

Our overall experience was just ok. The server was very nice and attentive. There were just things that shouldn't have happened. A very nice gentleman brought our entrees, but we hadn't been brought our salads yet. He called out 'Landlubber' and set it down with shrimp on the plate. Also, they were out of the mashed potatoes that came with the Landlubber. The server offered to substitute a side salad which was accepted. The meal came out, not just with shrimp, but with sweet potato fries that were not ordered. That's when we noticed we hadn't been brought our salads. The salads were brought immediately (so they must have been ready) and we had to eat them with our entrees (once the corrected Landlubber was delivered). When we got the bill, there was a $3.00 upcharge for the side salad substitution that was not explained when it was offered. So, it wasn't really a 'substitution.' Also, one server kept bumping my friend's chair when she walked behind us. This happened so many times that my friend finally switched seats. The tables were very close together, but there's no reason to repeatedly bump your guest's chair. Overall, we were very disappointed. The restaurant was not full or even crowded so it was hard to understand so many issues. This was supposed to be a nice, New Year's Eve dinner, but we were less than impressed. It's unfortunate because we have enjoyed the Puckett's Grocery restaurant a few times and that's what I based my choice of restaurants on. I feel like, at the very least, the upcharge of the salad could have been comped after the mistakes and having to wait longer to get the Landlubber prepared as ordered. The customer service could have been better.

What do you do when you learn that a busy downtown Franklin restaurant that doesn't offer reservations has a 2 hour wait at 1:00PM? Don't panic! OpenTable can get you in a couple of blocks off the square at Puckett's Boat House! Our out of town company loved it! Downtown Franklin was a mad house that day and it was so nice to get away from the crowd. Our food & server at Puckett's Boat House was excellent!

Our first visit to PBH. Started our experience with the gumbo that ranks at the top of all I have ever eaten. It increased our expectations of the entrée's of red beans and rice and the beer batter cod. Neither dish let us down, both were great. Highly recommend PBH and we will return soon.

A good place to eat, although I got sick from the buffet. Not Puckett's fault; I saw people taking biscuits by hand instead of tongs and then putting stuff back. Same with a couple of other items. Unfortunately, I had already completed eating 2/3 of my food. Had I seen this before I ordered, I would have ordered off the menu. My wife ordered off the menu, and enjoyed a nice lunch. Lesson learned.
