Fantastic food and outstanding service! We came here for brunch and it was busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back!
Unfortunately on the evening we were there the computer system had crashed creating all sorts of problems. Wait times were ridiculous and although our waitress did what she could it was pretty bad, timing wise. Our good was Excellent and while waiting for our waitress to bring the check(long, long wait), manager arrived to comp our meal.
We would definitely give it a second chance.
Playoff watching with out of town friend that loves the water. Sat outside
I visited American Social with a group of girlfriends for Brunch on Saturday morning. The brunch buffet and omelet bar was incredible. Everything was fresh and delicious. Add to that free bottomless mimosas when you purchased an entree and I was in heaven! Our server was Emma and she was incredible, we never wanted for anything and our glasses were never empty. I would go back for brunch again and again.
Good large sports bar. Problem is that they have no idea how to manage crowds when they’ve chosen to be in the middle of an area that will get busy. The hostess was overwhelmed trying to figure out how to handle the convention and hockey crowd. I had a reservation but that didn’t matter one bit. The bar was empty but the hostess decided it would be easiest to get rid of people if she told them it was a 90 minute wait. Food was good but multiple times a server came to us with food that was ours. Just really disorganized.
Awful experience. Loud and full of drunk college kids. Brought my family with 2 young kids. Waiter forgot my son’s waffle and never brought the kids drinks. Very disappointing as we boated there and made reservations.
Great food and service
I was not impressed at all.
Horrible service! Took an hr and a half to get food. Food was meh. Not worth the wait. Won’t go again. Pity for such a beautiful place
We had brunch and it was wonderful. We sat outside on the patio overlooking the water. The French Toast was fabulous.
We had reservations and arrived on time. We were not served drinks for 45 minutes. The chicken and waffles arrived cold. It was a very poor experience and I would not recommend it.
Service was great - our waitress was very kind and very respectful of our tight timeframe. The hosts got us seated right away upon our reservation arrival and even allowed us to choose a spot we preferred more over another.
Sat outside and the view of the water is beautiful (we dined during the night). The deck area is great both during day and night!
Deviled Eggs, pork belly empanadas, and all the appetizers we shared were delicious (we ordered seconds on the deviled eggs). I had the salmon entree and it was good, but not life changing. Hubby had the Mahi sandwich, also good, but not mind blowing. The mini donuts for dessert were very, very good. Overall great service, would do all apps + desserts if we go back.
Went for brunch and it was excellent. Sat outside and it was extremely loud. We were not able to speak and hear everyone at our table of 10. However the lobster benedict was excellent.
Great food and good prices. Service was good once we got our server’s attention.
This review is not about a meal I had, it is about the service received. My daughter is a freshman at the University of Tampa and we live in New York. She was coming into American social on December 12 to celebrate her 18th birthday with some friends. I called the restaurant and spoke to manager Jason Thompson about getting a gift card to pay for their dinner. When I told him I situation he told me that he would make it Extra special for her. Well, he did not disappoint. He ordered balloons and then questioned me about what kind of cake that she liked. Being very particular about what kind she likes I told him that she either likes cookie cake or ice cream cake. He went as far as getting an ice cream cake from a store in Tampa and having it decorated and personalized. To me, This goes above and beyond a managers duties. He made me so happy that my daughter was 1000 miles away from home, and still was treated to a great memorable night!! Thank you so much💗
Great spot to hang out before a hockey game!
I was just disappointed at the end because I made a special request on my reservation and My service didn't do it. It was whole point I made special request
good happy hour selection, large cocktail menu, great view
Brunch was fantastic. Lobster Benedict, chicken waffle, oysters...all perfect.
Great spot sitting in the deck.
The server was helpful. Food was good. Restaurant was very busy being Saturday night with a hockey game. The patio seemed much louder than inside.
Great restaurant on the water. However, the service was a bit slower than I prefer.
We often dine at American Social on Mondays, as we enjoy their hamburgers and sweet potato fries.
However, they have taken the sweet potato fries (which were divine) off their menu, and the hamburgers, though tasty, are the wrong temperature at least 50% of the time, if not 75%. If you can't cook a hamburger to the right temperature, then don't offer this option - like Cafe Dufrain. They will all come well done, and if you don't like it, don't order it. We would have sent ours back (ordered medium and medium rare and got well done X 2), but it took so long to get them in the first place, that we didn't dare. The night we went was a home game night for the Lightning, so it was fairly crowded, and most definitely understaffed. The front desk check-in is always a joke. There is often one person handling this position, and if he/she leaves to see a party to their table, you must wait till they come back before being seated yourselves - and this is WITH a reservation. It's a noisy crowd, so if you don't enjoy shouting at your table mates to make yourself heard - try another restaurant. It's convenient for us, so we persist. But this time we forgot to remind them about getting the hamburger temperatures right, and paid the price. Eater beware.
Food was good. View was beautiful. Service was fine but it was kinda loud outside.
Food was amazing, great customer service..
A fun place to have dinner, great location beside the water. Expensive parking!
Best views and happy hour in Tampa!
The food was better than I expected. Very good service. Atmosphere is a sports bar. I would go back.
We like American Social but this time it was a terrible experience, we waited over 30 minutes for our food and three out of five orders were messed up/incomplete. We had to send food back three times to get the orders right. We requested to speak to the manager and he was very gracious and offer to take care of a couple of items but the servers messed up the corrections again after the manager came out. We finally got our food, almost an hour later but it didn't end there, they brought a repeat of one of our orders after and we actually got double charged for it and had to get the manager again to fix our bill. I was very disappointed with the entire experience.
This place was super cute & had a great vibe! The drinks are AMAZING, I had the Fuzzy Peach Margarita it was sweet but strong the kind of drink that sneaks up on you.
As for food I had the Mahi sandwich just the fish but sadly it was overcooked & I had to send it back. I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. However, my boyfriend had the Pork Chop (specialty item) & it was to die for!
Best water views and happy hour menu in Tampa!!!
the restaurant was packed since it was the night of the Elton John Concert. We were glad we had a reservation. We sat outside by the bar. Our service was great. Our server recommended some new items on the menu and they came out quick giving us plenty of time to get to the concert. GREAT NIGHT!
Very good and excellent location
Great place to grab a light dinner before taking in a concert at Amalie Arena. Happy hour drinks and menu offered reasonably priced options for such a beautiful waterside venue. We’ll be back again!
We were a few minutes late and they held our table. Would go back again.
The food is always good, lively atmosphere. I was hoping with a reservation we’d have better seating so I was disappointed that our area was subpar. Would still go back tho
Awesome in every way!
Great food and wonderful unlimited mimosas!
Birthday brunch! The weather and venue was perfect!
We went for an early brunch. Quiet and enjoyable 11:15- 12:30. Around 12:30 music started outside ( we were inside) . So outside was undoubtedly noisier. We had the egg station and bottomless mimosas. Great value. Omelettes made to order . Fresh fruit was delicious as were the various pastries. My friends also tried the bacon , sausage and potatoes and even toast ( several types bread available) . They said those were also very good. We will definitely return.
