Everything was great, outside seating was perfect during these times!
Great hidden gem with outstanding aged steaks or just a great burger or chix sandwich. Try the Pork Sandwich! Buried in an office complex bit worth the hunt with a big courtyard and outside dining. Cheers...
This was a great experience and great food! I really enjoyed the loaded baked potato and would highly recommend American Prime.
Service was outstanding. Steak was done perfectly.
Food was excellent and the staff is being careful and making us feel safe and comfortable despite COVID
Excellent venue with excellent servers and amazing food!
Change in Chef can be tasted ...for instance, the bone marrow butter was served at room temperature and not melted like before. The apps were different too. The staff is till feet as always up front and at the bar/service area.
This is an odd restaurant. Almost empty on a Saturday, hard to find. High-end, but no obvious targeted clientele.
It was great and the food was amazing
It was Valentine’s Day, which is always a difficult meal for every restaurant. Always, the food is excellent here, but this night, not so good. I’ll be back though:) We just wanted to go out for a good dinner...not really for Vday, but just a normal dinner. Next time:)
Easily one of the best spots in and around Tysons Corner! The food is excellent! You can choose between the dining area, which is perfect for a quieter experience, and the bar which is perfect for a more energetic experience. The servers and bar tenders are top notch!
This was my first experience at American Prime but it was exceptional. I am a stickler for great customer service and good food. This restaurant delivered on both and I was very satisfied. Our waitress was attentive, the manager was friendly and the food was perfect. We will definitely be back!
a bit disappointing as far as service...we were seated at the farthest left side table for two...it took half an hour for someone to take our order. had to flag a waiter as he was leaving another table...receipt said jeffrey but it seemed like he wasnt really assigned to our table and was just being accomodating...the waiter tending to the table next to us was even at the front host table when we came in...and the table he chose to serve even came 15 minutes after us...surprisingly they got their food order in before us and that waiter never bothered to go to our table even it was pretty obvious we were seated with no water or bread service...
The Restaurant Week menu has nice options but the taste didn’t wow us. Carpaccio appetizer was interesting but the shrimp/crab popper appetizer was meh. Mushroom ravioli entree was pleasant and the prime rib’s smoky crust was good. Key lime pie was average and the bourbon bread pudding would have been so much better if it had been evenly warmed throughout. Wait staff was very nice. Glad we tried the restaurant but not sure there’s a reason to return.
It’s a beautiful dining room and the service was excellent. The sauce on the chicken Parmesan was terrible, tasted like spicy ketchup. The steaks were well cooked however there was no seasoning on them not even salt and pepper. The creamed spinach needed to be creamier. The brussel sprouts were very good. The best part of the meal was the butter cake with ice cream. Very delicious!!!
Worst 8 oz fillet cut I ever had. So sorry for cheating on Capital Grill or Ruth Chris. I asked for a 8 oz fillet, rare, with a cool red center. What I got was a "well" done steak. Outback cooks a better steak. Cut of fillet was thin and weak. When manager approached me, i pointed to my mouth as I was chewing of which she pelted out a bunch of questions on my steak, I had to point to my mouth 3 different times to let her know, i had food in my mouth. Female manager on duty appeared to have limited managerial experience and gave me plenty of attitude followed by a negative head toss when I stated, this is over cooked. Including our table of 5, there were 2 other 2 tops filled...poor all around
We had a great server, believe his name was Jeffrey. He did a great job at being attentive, while still being very professional and relaxed. All in all amazing food, great space and amazing service. 11/10 from us
The bourbon cake and beef carpaccio was outrageously delicious. Prime rib was great. Don’t bother with the calamari-disappointingly tasteless. I would definitely come back!
noisy only because holiday time. I would go back another time
We visit at least once a month. The service is great as always. So glad we found this place by accident several months ago. Great place for the whole family or to have a business meeting.
Food is always excellent, with great service. If you are looking for a very quiet place to conduct business, this is the place
A jewel of restaurant!
The restaurant and staff were amazing. The food itself was just adequate. The French Dip has soggy bread and the crab cake sandwich was lacking flavor. The Calamari was good.
There are certain foods we love while others are so so. The smoked prime rib, the kimchi fried rice, the Brussel sprouts, oysters, mushrooms, and charcuterie are all so good. The butter cake is AMAZING! We love the service there. Yetka was great last time and so was our bartender.
Appetizer was good but the steak wasn’t that good for its price.
- Warm welcome by the host
- Prime rib was perfectly cooked (flavor, texture and tenderness; spot on!)
- Kimchi fried rice
- Excellent drinks (kudos to the bartender)
- Having a server who was gruff and unpleasant, also took delight in saying his name (when asked) as he knows it's very difficult to pronounce without practice
- He lacked 'tableside manner' almost to the point of being rude / his one smile came when presenting the bill / he was dismissive and always made us feel rushed when there were few guests present
- Prices are on the higher end but the experience doesn't quite measure up
We'd return for the Prime Rib alone but would certainly be sure to have someone else serve our party to hopefully enjoy the quality service we didn't have on our last visit.
Fabulous service. Very mediocre food.
Food was disappointing. I should have known when we walked in on a Saturday night and hardly anyone was there. One waiter for the entire restaurant. Steaks chewy and unevenly cooked. Their version of “wild mushrooms” is a bunch of cut up watery portobellos. Mashed potatoes didn’t even taste like potato. Mussels cooked in white wine and garlic had no flavor. Best part of meal was the cheese plate - probably because you don’t need to cook that.
Late Tuesday evening dinner with client. Ended up choosing to sit at corner of bar instead of sitting in dining room (which alas is a bit of a windowless cave versus bar area which is much cheerier). Service was great even though pretty much everyone else finished up and went home. Bar staff remained attentive and made us feel welcome until we finally left. Dinner was, as always, delicious!
This is a first class establishment from every aspect but the price. Very reasonable for a great experience!!!
Great meal, reasonably priced. We will be back. The only complaint was that the garnishes on the beef carppacio were a bit fresh out of the kitchen and still had some dirt on the roots.
Great opportunity to explore this venue, hidden in a office part during Resturant week. Greeted by a fine ”young fentleman” named Drew. His type if attention and politness is not found in many people his age. His recommendation on the Prime RIB was spot on, and his Dad the cheft should be proud onhow he is raising a future resturant gentelman. Try this gem out and if you are lucky, Drew will be there before his bedtime.
Lovely evening with good service, loved the Crab and Shrimp Poppers, and the steak was delicious...perfect service also!
Second time at this restaurant and it was even better than the outstanding 1st time. Already planning our next visit for my birthday.
We went for summer restaurant week. It was excellent. Our service and food were both outstanding. We'll be returning soon.
We went for restaurant week and had the filet mignon. Our 2 family members had good steaks but ours
were underdone so we sent them back to be cooked a little more. Big mistake-they
came back well done, dry and charred which we had requested to be avoided. But by that time, we felt it was too late to send back so we trimmed the blackened and ate what we could. To their credit, the manager had come back when our steaks were returned and had asked if they were OK and we said they were OK which we should not of done but our company was finished we just did not want to hold things up.
Good services and food! It's an enjoyable experience at American Prime.
It took almost a half hour to have our order taken. The restaurant week menu had a salad first course and three entree salads. Why would I want two salads? The server kept getting distracted and looking at our table but walked away without asking if we were ok. The food was basic and burned. We never got our second round of drinks and the entire lunch took almost two hours for a burger and two sandwiches. I will never go back there.
First time visit during Restaurant Week and loved it. Food was delicious and we could actually talk to our friends. We will come back.
First time at American Prime, main dishes was okay, starters was great, received 2 wrong orders.
