The Standard, an American Bistro Style Restaurant and Bar, located in the American Hotel right at the heart of Downtown Freehold. Open everyday for lunch and dinner until 9:00 pm, and offering an a la carte brunch on Sundays.

The contemporary menu offers a tantalizing variety featuring steaks, seafood and bistro-style dishes. Enjoy our upscale menu with friends while sipping on one our specially crafted cocktails.

Happy Hour is offered at the bar 7 days a week from 3:00-6:00. Additionally, we are now offering half priced bottles of wine every Wednesday and Sunday.

Please note that all reservations are for Indoor Dining only. Outdoor dining is purely first come, first serve. However, if you have a reservation, and there is an outside table available at the time of your arrival, you will be welcomed to it.

There is FREE parking in the Market Yard lot everyday but Thursday, Friday and Saturday after 4pm. The lot across Main St is free at all times. We are excited to serve you!

The food was delicious, and our waitress was a doll. We weren't the easiest group to deal with. The entertainers were talented but way too loud. Turn the mike down, please. I will definitely be back.

We celebrated our sons high school graduation with family dinner. It was delicious as always. The portions are big, food is fresh, and quality and presentation are impressive. We love how the manager,Ryan, is so friendly and accommodating and checks in on all the guests. The bathrooms are super clean. Drinks from the bar are excellent too. Never a bad meal or bad experience at the American Hotel!

We had a good experience celebrating 50 years of friendship with very good Lobster Mac and cheese and pretty good shrimp and grits (too sweet for my taste). The service was slow and the server was not at all working to help us celebrate so it could have been more festive if the server had tried.

The servings were large and the food quality was quite good. We will come back for sure. Our server was knew and made a few mistakes but you could see that she was really trying. These slip uos detracted a bit from the evening but everyone has to learn.

Went to The Standard for Father’s Day Dinner. Took my two grandchildren ages 2 and 6. The waiter I believe his name was Moe. He was so attentive to my grandkids and brought their food out promptly. I was a little hesitant in going out on a holiday with them but it went perfect. We started with onion soup which was amazing and I had the crab cakes that were delicious. My husband and son-in-law had the prime rib and loved it. My daughter had the meatloaf and loved it too. The whole meal was a complete success.

Father’s Day Brunch at American Hotel was fantastic! The selection of food was great and delicious. The Manager Jim was so nice to our daughter to accommodate her with gluten free options and assure no cross contamination. We visit the American Hotel often for dinner, and always enjoy it, but this was our first time for a brunch. I would definitely return for another celebration brunch.

Great dinner experience last night. Food was delicious and plentiful. Excellent service and very comfortable. My wife had the Blackened Mahi Mahi and said it was the best she ever had. This is now one of my favorite restaurants. Can’t wait to come back. Also, the acoustic guitar music was amazing. Was the final touch to an amazing experience!
