First, Open Table showed no table availability from 6pm-9pm, but we went anyway and found 10+ open tables in the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our meal was tasty, our server was extremely attentive, but we felt it was VERY overpriced for what we received. I ordered a $17 wedge salad that had 1 single grape-sized tomato cut in half and crumbled bacon that amounted to a quarter of a slice of bacon. The $34 salmon was dry and sat atop a bit of even drier quinoa, both desperate for a drip of sauce or gravy to help it slide down the gullet. Sadly, there was none. The $10 French Fries were impossibly dry and only had a couple of grains of salt. A crock of gravy or cheese might have made them divine, but instead they were inedible. The $19 shrimp cocktail came with a teeny bit of ketchup topped with a bit of horseradish that we had to mix ourselves to make cocktail sauce. My sons enjoyed how the porterhouse was prepared table-side and my daughter liked her tiny crab cake. We were celebrating a special occasion. It was a lovely venue, but the food preparation could have been much better. Disappointing.
Porterhouse for Two
Giovanna the manager is very polite, the staff is great & our waitress, Marisa was very attentive, the barmaid made some wonderful drinks!!!
We loved the food and service. I did however request a table in a corner out of the busy sections due to a special occasion and it was not accommodated. Overall it was a great place to eat.
Friends visiting from out of town
Didn't get to eat there. The person (who I assume was the GM) couldn't find our reservation and said we would have to wait 15 minutes to be seated -- which we did not have time for b/c we were seeing a show. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Okay." It's clear they don't really care about their customers. With the high volume, I guess they don't have to. No thanks. Will not try to eat there again.
They claimed to not have our reservation despite showing them my email confirmation. Did not get seated until 45 minutes after our reservation despite having many empty tables. Waiter took too long to come over so we left. Awful.
After waiting around 40mins for our food, which when finally arrived the waiter apologized for the delay since it was busy for a show night. PS that's why we made reservations so we could also be on time for the show.. The food was just so-so. We selected the tomahawk which were advised was finished table side with a flambeed. They wheeled the steak around the entire restaurant to get up to the raised platform we were on. But they failed to mention just the sauce would be flambeed.. our steak never hit the pan. Our food when finally received was cold. Not that we would have had time to send it back because our waiter never checked on us.. even if we did we would then have been late for the show and/or been stuck with now over cooked steak. When my husband have the rare opportunity to get out without the kids we always select a fine dining steakhouse so we are used to the prices which we never mind when the food is worth it. This however was not. The best item in on the whole menu is the free bread and butter.
Another suggestion would be to invest in the illuminated menus many steakhouses now have, when the restaurant is so dark it helps patrons see what they are ordering.
Oysters had to go back not cold "fishy " however my steak was ice cold . bad service could not get water Way overpriced We will never go back to the hotel or this restaurant
Wait staff was fabulous and ambience nice. We ordered a steak medium which came to us over well done. We sent it back and it they cooked another which came to us medium rare. Rest of meal satisfactory.
Beautiful atmosphere. Food was very good. Good service
We had dining reservations at the steak house for 630 to leave plenty of time to get to our 8 o’clock show. When we arrived we were told that our table was not ready but will be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. We were finally seated at 7 PM and explained to our server Luis that we had tickets for an 8 o’clock show. Luis did the best he could and was able to get us out the door at 7:50. Unfortunately because of the late seating we were unable to enjoy dessert and coffee with our meal. The service was perfect the steak was cooked perfectly but the late seating is what left a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately we will not return to this restaurant for this reason.
Have been there many times will return, but I was disappointed in the baked oysters (tepid)
and my strip was perfectly Pittsburghed but a little dry and no a jus available.
Well I will tell you for the prices they charge I was surprised that the service wasn't top shelf! I ordered broccoli rabe and it was so stringy and tough I couldn't even eat it without choking. The steak was very good though. I will try it one more time to be fair but right now it is not my favorite steak house.
Excellent waiter and service. Steak was tasty but over cooked and cold :(
This was by far the WORST dining experience only based on the food. Our server was very sweet but the food was awful !! I go to the other locations in NY and cannot brag enough about it but tonight was super disappointing. Not only was the porterhouse like a microwaved piece of rubber but everything including the salad to the sides had no flavor no spices and super dry! We felt bad complaining but it ended up being that the table behind us complained as well for the food being so awful. Don’t waste your time or money !!!!
Just OK. Not worth the price.
Props to Adem and Randy. Amazing service and food. Thank you for making our visit and reintroduction to American Cut so amazing.
Not a good experience. Food mediocre at best. Service was good. In general....eat somewhere else....
4 of us went for dinner and we were pretty disappointed. Salad starters were good but it all went downhill from there. Porterhouse for 2 ($120) was ordered medium rare and delivered well done. Bone-in filet mignon ($62) came to the table completely raw and my petite filet was over cooked and without flavor. Manager reduced the price of the porterhouse by $30 and comped dessert but it would have been a much more enjoyable evening if they cooked our steaks right. After all, they are a steakhouse.
Overall my experience here was Just ok it was good nothing special with many other steakhouse options close by I would definitely suggest going to one of them for the same price you would pay for dinner at American cut at least you would have a better meal had the bacon for appetizer it was very thin and very dry and the dry aged ribeye was ok nothing special
Excellent meal and service
ordered filet medium well received completely burnt. of course returned and ordered replacement
which came (after my wife had completed her dinner) - very well done and dry.
Parents 60tth Anniversary
Asked if it was a birthdaywhen reservation was made but it was never mentioned
Went for son’s birthday. Terrific experience. Great service and awesome food. Nothing disappointed. Recommend tomahawk chop, beet salad, mushrooms, mac n cheese, Caesar salad, chocolate cookies and milkshake, popcorn ice cream. Recommended!
Our server Ryan made the dining experience amazing! He was very knowledgeable and personable but not over the top. We had filet and lobster tail which was sooo yummy! Will definitely go back next time at Ocean! Thanks for a great dinner!
Excellent food and drinks with very attentive service.
High end price , average cooking , best bread
Food was delicious and timing of courses was good
Food was good but the service was mediocre. Waiter did not come over to check if we needed anything.
Great meal a little pricey but worth it
Had a few issues with the food. They seem to like to make things spicy hot. They put hot peppers into the drawn butter for the lobster tail. Once before, they had put black pepper all over the lobster tail. You have to make sure you tell them not to put salt or pepper on things even this this happened.
Had six o'clock reservation. Arrived a couple of minutes early. Was seated early. Seemed good. Down hill from there. Wife's Bellini had little to no juice, syrup or schnapps. Was basically Champagne. My Mohito had Gin, not rum. Fortunately the glass also had a crack in it, so I didn't have to complain and eventually got a correct Mohito. We ordered a salad which came in a reasonable amount of time. The two filets and mac and cheese took thirty minutes. When we inquired about our meal, the waiter said it should be done shortly. He would check. Sent his assistant to apologize to us and the table behind us who had the same question. Steak was a great cut and cooked as ordered, but was barely warm. Mac and cheese was hot. I guess it was under the warmer. We arrived at the show at 7:25. Show started five minutes later.
Very expensive for the quality of food
They overcharged my credit card. They don’t call back to straighten it out. I had to file a complaint wit American Express. Don’t go there. Totally incompetent.
Service took way too long
The filet mignon ordered by myself and 2 others in my party was not a good cut of meat. It was very tough and we all expected more from a high priced steak house. The waiter kept trying to upsell while we placed our orders.
Booked this as an Anniversary dinner, and the restaurant made no mention of it. The steaks were tasteless and cold. The waiter was rude and opinionated. Management tried to correct the meal with dessert, but by then we had about had it. Not worth the premium prices
10 year anniversary. Had a great experience. Lobster chilean was the best
