Chef Kevin McGinley, formerly of Michelin Star restaurant Bátard, serves every dish with fanatical attention to flavor and detail. Located directly across from the historically preserved Long Island City Gantries, we are inspired to look to the future with our sustainable practices. Long Island City is fortunate to have many excellent breweries, and they are featured exclusively on our beer list. American Brass is the number one place to view the East River 4th of July Fireworks. We are offering a 3 hour open bar and a 3 course dinner. No matter what time you book, you have your table for the whole night. The fireworks begin at 9:30pm. If you book an indoor table, you will have a designated standing area on our private patio for viewing. *No Refunds* In case outdoor tables are not possible due to rain, guests will receive a giftcard for the full purchase amount. *Please note that parking is very difficult on the 4th of July and that no cars are allowed within blocks of the waterfront. Please arrange for transportation and allow extra time to go through police barricades. All of our guests will receive an email with instructions.

I had not been here before so I don't know if Mother's Day had any bearing on food quality. It started great, the homemade bread was very good and the salad and dressing were great. But the main course was lacking. My friend had salmon which he said was tasteless. I had chicken which was good, but not enough to merit returning. The pistachio tart was lackluster. Service, despite being a busy holiday, was good too. Unfortunately, the entire experience was underwhelming.

The food quality was terrible, and it was tasteless. I decided to order the appetizer first, and while I was waiting for another person to arrive. The waitress said I couldn't do that because the kitchen had a lot of orders. When I got home after 3 hours, for some reason, my stomach was not feeling well, and I ended up puking everything.

Great place to have a very nice dinner. The service is excellent and the pace the food is delivered was perfect. A nice break between appetizers and the main course. The food was delicious. My son had the NY strip steak that was perfectly cooked, delicious and juicy, my wife had the steak tartar with a smoked egg that she raved about, I had the seafood risotto that also delicious. Overall a near perfect night out for dinner. If I had one small complaint is that it is a little too noisy for my liking.

I went for my birthday. They truly make you feel special. Great place to eat. When I went it was crowed but that's expected on Fridays and the weekend. The hospitality is amazing! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great food and a great experience. It's right across the street from Gantry State Park. The truffle mac and cheese had so much flavor and the steak I order was perfect. Drinks were amazing as well. I would recommend this place to for birthdays, a night out, or a bite to eat.

Chef refused to accommodate the vegan in our party, despite a plethora of vegetables listed on the menu. Other guests’ requests were also refused. Guests ordering as is were not impressed either. Unknown staffing availability, but reservations were not at capacity. Will not return, not worth the trip.

My mom and I just had a lovely dinner at American Brass. We started with a chilled asparagus appetizer — I’m not one to intentionally order a vegetable anywhere, but was so glad I did. Seasonings were spot on. For entrees, I had a rich seafood risotto with rock shrimp, bay scallops and clams; mom had baked chicken. Both were prepared and served beautifully. The ambience is soothing and the restaurant is comfortable. Service is just the right degree of attentive. Our neighborhood is fortunate to have AB.

I would never order pork or chicken and have done both here and it doesn’t disappoint! The pork chop is served on a bed of lentils and is truly a show stopper! The carrot cake, chocolate cake, and all desserts on this menu are to die for!

This was our second time dining at American Brass in the past 10 days. We came back not just because of the excellent food, but because of the exceptional experience provided by the outstanding staff here. Liz and Emily greet us like valued customers, and Michael’s service was impeccable. Our water glasses were never empty. The wine was always poured when necessary. I think service is equally as important as the food and is often overlooked, unless it’s bad. The food: delicious oysters with a flavorful Thai mignonette sauce. Bread with ricotta is salty and fresh. Pastas we’re fresh and satisfying. Hamachi was perfect and the steak with gochujang butter was a big hit. Save room for the coconut cake and definitely try a cocktail at the bar. The Manhattans are as good as anywhere I’ve had. Definitely part of our rotation!

I really wanted to love this place but we had issues from the moment we arrived. From incorrect wine to overdone food, my guest and I were extremely disappointed from start to finish. The staff wasn’t helpful or friendly. They never checked in on us during the meal and our server seemed annoyed to answer any questions. The staff were completely lost and the restaurant wasn’t even remotely busy. I had high hopes but I will not be back and don’t recommend it.

The hostesses were cordial, professional and accommodating. The waiter and servers also were professional, attentive and helpful. And the food was excellent - no complaints at all. Lastly, the decor is bright, smart with clean lines and very enjoyable. We give it 8 thumbs up (there were 4 of us).

Seriously, the absolute BEST service! Had a birthday dinner there and they did everything possible to make it feel like a special occasion! Special touches like a cocktail for the birthday girl, special bday menu, candles in the dessert...you name it)! Food was great as well. I got the Porterhouse for 2 with the yummiest mac and cheese on the side (highly recommend). 10/10. Thank you !
