Our cocktails were all made incorrectly and had to be sent back only to find out they are lacking certain bar ingredients. The food was excessively salty. Should have sent back the shrimp and grits and fried okra but it wasn’t worth the wait. Way too salty. The menu is interesting. Steak tartar was well prepared. Baby backs were just ok. No one at the table liked their house barbecue sauce.
Fun pre movie dinner for our family of four. Service was exceptional - a rarity in DC. Food was very good although my portion of the bbq sausages was really small and left me hungry for more even with the multiple sides we also had ordered. We will be back!
Our experience at America Eats started so well and then went downhill. Our dinners arrived but not the sides we ordered. I found the server and told him about the lack of sides, he apologized and came back a minute later and sides would be out in 2 minutes. We were all on our last bites of our meals when I asked the hostess to please cancel the sides - had to ask her because I couldn't find the server. The food was OK - not as inspired as it sounded on the menu. My cocktail (Boulevardier) had way too much bitters in it. Basically not a great experience.
I had a very average at best meal.
Interesting menu based on old American recipes. Good sized portions, somewhat inconsistent - fish & chips was excellent but fried chicken breading was almost burnt. Service slow, especially with getting cocktails.
Great food, great service. Best, most enjoyable brunch I’ve had in a long time.
It was so delicious and my server was outstanding! The bartender also makes the best Kentucky mules!!
Very different from Jose's other restaurants in this town. Hearty American food. Tuesday night in August so things were relaxed. We had a great dinner with friends we hadn't seen in years and nobody tried to rush us out even though we kept our table for over 3 hours.
It was fine. Not my favorite of Jose Andres
Our group of 8 had a satisfying lunch. Food choices were excellent. Some had pulled pork bbq, brisket, fried okra, and the French fries were yummy..... crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the cheese grits were the best I have had.
Celebrar mi cumpleaños fuera de España... quería un lugar típico y comida americana ... Vi los comentarios de los restaurantes de José Andrés y no lo dudé!!!
Went here for dinner with kids. We had a great time Karen was our server and she was accommodating. Food was great we had the short rib rice bowl. And a Caesar salad. My kids had grilled cheesE and a cheese pizza. The manager do stop by to check on us and offered the kids Ice pop. He walks was very nice and attentive. Next time we go to dc we will head back for dinner and drinks
Great food experience. Service was perfect with fun food and beverages!
We have eaten at many José Andres restaurants and were excited to try this one. However, the service was achingly slow and the burgers were not great—there was about 4x as much bun to burger. We had to wait for everything. Wait for water—which was not kept filled. Waited 20?? minutes for drink order to arrive. They were not busy, this just seems to be how service was designed to be. And then when the food arrived, it was disappointing. It was also expensive for what you get. The fries were good. Everything else—burgers, brisket, were meh
Food and service was excellent.
I wish there had been a greater selection for brunch as well Not a great choice for a vegetarian
Very quiet for the 10 o’clock spot for brunch which was wonderful
As per usual, the food here is expertly prepared. Loved the new flank steak on the menu. Service was friendly but a little slow. The hush puppies are always a favorite. This is definitely one of my go to restaurants when I have friends or family in town. It's casual and fun here, not at all pretentious.
Great food for a great price, everything we had was delicious and the service was excellent. Will definitely be coming back.
Took some out of town guests here for lunch and they loved it. Great food and service!
The restaurant has a fun vibe, and the service was good. However, the food at America Eats did not live up to the hype or to what one has come to expect from chef Jose Andres and his team, the meat (a flank steak) was tough, and the Baby Back Ribs were dry. The saving grace was the cornbread and the chicken wings. But all in all, I don't think I will be making my way back there or recommending it to anyone, there are far superior BBQ places in DC.
Overall, it was good but not blown away. Food was good, service was okay.
Just average food that didn’t really live up to the description in the menu. Not bad just not remarkable that would make me want to come back.
The food wasn’t great to me, but that’s probably because I’m from the South.
Great birthday dinner for my brother! Food was all excellent as was the service.
Awesome atmosphere and service. Food was quick and tasted great.
The restsurant was very accomodating, we arrived 20 min early and being our first time aked for a table that was in a quieter location. They moved us immediately and had a great dinner!
We came here for fourth of July and the food was absolutely delicious! There was something for everyone and the staff was kind enough to accommodate our large group. Would definitely recommend for a delicious meal in the DC area!
Absolutely fantastic. The Mac and cheese with sloppy joe is a game-changer.
The manager and wait staff were very professional and very pleasant. The food was outstanding- amazing brisket and pulled pork. We tried both the cucumber lemonade and the old fashioned. Their whiskey list is immense and their cocktails are on point. What a way to celebrate American flavors! Absolutely a must try in DC.
We waited an exceptionally long time for our main course without explanation.
One meal came to the table and the chicken was raw when cut into and the waffle was a Belgian version of an eggo . The egg sandwich was supposed to have pork belly and when cut into it was pure fat. The bread was semi stale and overall left little to be desired. The waitress was lovely and very hospitable. The restaurant didn’t charge for the raw chicken dish which was a kind gesture.
My second time here. Great food, great drinks, and great service!!! I love America Eats!
Excellent restaurant. Everybody had so much fun and soo much food
Good service and drinks but food was only so-so.
Delicious food, especially the Hanger Steak and Rib-Eye, cooked to perfection!
Recommend the brussel sprouts, NY Sour Cocktail and Tracktor Pull, Cocktails.
The location is great, the service was outstanding the food was ok. I ordered a crabcake which was good however, the coleslaw was old (brown). My friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and was served a BBQ mushroom sandwich needless to say he was VERY disappointed. The manager did a great job of correcting the situation and was apologetic. Overall, the experience was ok due to just ok food.
Waited long time for food and when it came out my wife’s food was stone cold.
Amazing BBQ and fun interpretations of 200 year old recipes
Manager and our server were articulate and made great pairing recommendations. Would go back - twice!
Food was very good.
Only complaint is the food temp. Could have been a lot warmer for bbq... maybe something as simple as warming the serving plates could do the trick.
Everything was good. My friends and brother thoroughly enjoyed the Mac -n-cheese as well as the other dishes. My only complaint was the chicken. Some of my brother's chicken was not fully cooked on the inside. Just double check before serving to other guests.
I was there to celebrate my birthday.
All in all it was a good dinner. Jonathan did a great job serving us. Thank you.
Great location, food was really good. Will definitely be back!!
Cosmopo cocktail and Martha Washington chocolate cake were delicious, but the mushroom burger was meh. Mushrooms were hard to chew and drowning in BBQ sauce, making white bun soggy. This is not the best of Jose Andres restaurants. Was expecting better
