Fabulous restaurant and service. Our first time dining here and the experience was amazing. Food was delicious and good portions. Drinks well made, too. The carrot cake was to die for. We will be back the next time in Memphis.

My wife and I had a lovely Saturday evening at Amelia Gene’s on Front Street. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the cocktails are expertly crafted. Huge shoutouts to Sam, the bar manager, and our server Charlie — both were exceptional and went above and beyond to make the evening memorable. The support staff was attentive and on point, and we felt well taken care of throughout. Food prices are reasonable, especially for the downtown location, and the space itself strikes a great balance between elegant and comfortable. A few minor drawbacks: drinks lean toward the pricey side — $20 for a glass of wine is a bit steep, even for Memphis’s upscale dining scene. There’s also no beer on tap, which felt like a miss for a city with a strong craft beer culture. I had to send back my short rib dish because it was overcooked and tough. Fortunately, the replacement was absolutely perfect — tender and delicious — and we appreciated that the restaurant also credited the dish from our bill, which showed great customer service. My wife’s bone-in strip was excellent, but when we got home, we realized the bone (which still had some meat on it) hadn’t made it into the takeout box — a small miss, but worth mentioning. Despite those little hiccups, we’d absolutely return — the staff, atmosphere, and overall experience make Amelia Gene’s a standout in the Memphis dining scene.

My birthday dinner was a huge success due to the amazing service and fantastic food. All of the ladies appreciated the purse stools. Everyone enjoyed the cocktails, especially the espresso martinis. The biscuits and peach jam!! Yummy. I had the cheese plate before the monkfish dinner. And I also got the chocolate cake.

A special experience in a lovely atmosphere. A touch of elegance in an older restored building that has a touch of elegance. Food choices are excellent and distinctive. Service was personal, informative and friendly. A great place for a special occasion.

Our server, Grant, was great. The food was good and the atmosphere is very moody and elegant. It is pricey, but it is a great option for a splurge!

Very nice Ambiance, but the food was average at best considering the prices charged. The Short Rib dish was too rich and the Sea Bass was over salted. The dessert of Chocolate Tres Leches felt more like a dense undercooked brownie with canned cherries added vs a luxurious dish. Service and decor was nice but food wise, it was underwhelming.

Our waiter Taylor was wonderful. She was very attentive and had great recommendations about the menu. The food was ok. It had interesting flavors that were a little hard to get used to. But overall, the ambiance, the service, and the drinks especially were amazing.
