Amelia Gene’s, Downtown’s finest dining experience, welcomes a contemporary, globally inspired palate artfully designed to impress. Fine wines, classic cocktails, proper bites, and a can’t-miss cheese cart transport diners through a culinary journey with distinct hospitality that can only be found in this state-of-the-art, reclaimed space in Downtown Memphis.

Our menu emphasizes seasonality and a dedication to ingredient-driven preparations. Our Chef's culinary philosophy is characterized by restraint, allowing the innate qualities of the ingredients to eloquently express themselves. Our establishment is located adjacent to the Caption by Hyatt Hotel.

We are proud to offer an extensive wine list thoughtfully curated by our team. Should you wish to bring in a bottle not currently featured on our list, a corkage fee of $25 per bottle will apply, with a maximum of two bottles per party. In support of our culinary program, outside food is not permitted.

Amelia Genes is by far the most beautiful restaurant in Memphis, and is a gem among many gems in downtown Memphis. The food, however, is why we keep coming back. This is not a restaurant that attempts to satisfy the average diner. The menu is curated and each dish is impeccably designed with flare for both the eyes and the taste buds. We typically go the Amelia Genes before the Orpheum Broadway plays and eat a light dinner, so we share a main course and share 2-3 side dishes. We recently shared the duck, short rib ravioli , and a prawn salad. The biscuits are incredible. Lastly, save room for the homemade root beer float. This is not your normal root beer float. This is 100% homemade - and it is a work of art. If you are downtown and aren't really hungry - just drop by the bar and order the float. Lastly, they have valet parking which is a treat.

The service immediately with the front door greeter was accommodating. We sat at bar until reservation time and the drink (old fashioned) was a great level of alcohol and smoothness. The reservation was ready and at our table from our waitress to the appetizers and food were all 10/10. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. This place ranks high on all aspects from ambience to food quality. I had the sea bass and my partner had the prime (22oz) steak. We also had the blueberry oysters and fried oysters. All was delicious! It was my partners birthday and the also gave us some special aspects just for him! So if going for a birthday please be specific and inform them. I highly suggest this location.

The service was impeccable. They took care to seat us in a quieter place as we had a hard of hearing guest in attendance. Given that the HOH individual was me and I was the one picking up the check, much appreciated detail! Food was delicious especially the biscuits and pasta.

Such a lovely restaurant. First class in every way. For local Memphian’s this is comparable to Southern Social, Flight, and Coastal Fish service. Food is excellent and different from the three mentioned. Creative dishes and the Truffle potatoes on the small bites is a must! I’ve been three times and look forward to going again. We had Orpheum tickets and our server made sure to keep our meal on schedule to allow time to walk to the Orpheum etc Big fan!

Beautiful restaurant but subpar food. I’ve been a few times, but this time was extremely disappointing. The steak was so bland. I also asked for a medium steak and received a rare steak. The only tasty thing was the biscuits. Our waitress, although sweet, rarely came to the table. We had to waive her down a few times. After this experience, I doubt I return. It is definitely not worth the price. I’m very disappointed. Update: we didn’t receive the complimentary toast that was mentioned in the response and I didn’t receive another steak.

Hi Erin, It means so much when our regulars choose to celebrate with us, especially for Alec’s birthday! We truly wanted the evening to feel special, starting with a complimentary champagne toast for all six of you & ending with complimentary desserts. When your steak wasn’t quite right, we immediately prepared a new one to the correct temperature & sent something in the meantime so you wouldn’t have to wait without food. When we spoke during your visit, I wish these concerns were shared, as we truly believed we had made things right, so it saddens me to read them now. This isn’t the experience our guests typically have, & I’m so sorry the evening still fell short. I’d love the opportunity to welcome you back & create the kind of experience you’ve enjoyed with us before. Cheers, Jessica

The food was spectacular and the service was even better. Kudos and accolades to Kelsey, our server. She set a standard that will be hard to exceed. Can't wait to go back!
