Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar
The menu at Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar changes with the seasons and the seafood offerings depend on what local fishermen were able to catch. However, wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas and homemade desserts are always on the menu. The staff at Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar also includes a sommelier, so you'll have no problem getting a wine recommendation from the expansive list available. Local beers are also on tap and there are hand-crafted cocktails offered too.

We went here for my wife's birthday. The server was sweet and attentive and the atmosphere up front is cozy and nice. That was the highlight of the meal. The food was good but underwhelming for the price. The wine pour was absolutely stingy. For the price, we would have been much better off getting a bottle even if we didn't intend to drink it all with dinner. That kind of put a damper on the meal.
This was our third try with this restaurant and we aren't in any hurry to go back.
OK Place but not outstanding. This is a nice place in Eugene with very good atmosphere and good food and service. It does not, however, 'Knock it out of the park'. Still looking in Eugene for that place.
This was my second visit to Ambrosia and I have to say that I went back because I liked it so much the first time. Great atmosphere, good food, live music was playing - all good. I had the same server as the first time, so not sure if I didn't remember this, or the second visit was different. This time, we arrived at the time of our reservation, the restaurant was busy but not packed; however, our dinner was so rushed by the server (not sure if this is his style or if he was instructed to do so) that it almost ruined my wonderful night with my son, who BTW I wasn't going to see again for months as I was dropping him off at school. If they need to turn tables over that badly, there are other ways of handling it. He literally asked us for our dinner order within a minute or two of sitting down! Speedily recited the specials then asked if we were ready to order, and we had just been seated! This continued as drinks and food came very quickly, my entree was delivered to the table in the middle of me eating my salad, and so on. Very good restaurant but it really annoyed me and put a bit of a damper on my evening. Not sure if I'll go back, but if I do, I may ask to not be seated in his section.
Good food. The service would have been perfect if the bus boy had not reached across my girlfriend’s personal space to clear an appetizer plate. He could have asked or said “Excuse me.”
The waiter was excellent and the gluten free pasta was very good.
Overall it was a very good meal and dining experience.
Was a birthday dinner - the Special was a tad overpriced for being "special" (over $30/ea for a couple prawns and shrimp with noodles) but overall was a good meal. Had been a few years since the last visit, still good food tho.
We had not been to Ambrosia in many years. We went to this particular restaurant because of its location and we remember great food, drink, service, and ambiance. We were not disappointed on this visit. The before dinner cocktails were excellent, shout out to the bar tender for his mixology skills. The food was great. It arrived hot and cooked to perfection. We totally enjoyed our visit and plan to go back more often.
It's OK but not mind blowing. Food is just ok. Not many vegetarian options. I like the atmosphere. Service was good.
Tasty food and nice ambiance. Friendly but hurried service. Weak cocktails and un-generous wine & aperitif pours.
On Saturday August 3rd me and a special lady was on a second date and I picked Ambrosia for the special place. It was absolutely amazing food and service. There isn't a better place to take that special someone on a romantic date. The staff made the dating experience like no other. My date has made several comments on how the food was absolutely delicious, which has had a hand in future dates for me. I can't praise the staff and cooks enough for the great experience that we had.
I have been a long time customer of Ambrosia and I always enjoy my experience there. The craft cocktails are delicious and creative, the menu includes a wide variety of Italian dishes, the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. It was great to hear live music while we enjoyed our meal outside.
Excellent food and service. We were running behind in time and the staff was great about getting g us our food and check quickly when we asked.
This was a great find while passing through Eugene. Our innkeeper told us to check it out and it was wonderful. Slow since it was a Monday night but the service and dinner were excellent.
Really engaging server, unfortunately don't remember her name. Good food at pretty good prices for an upper scale italian place. Been twice and will definitely go again.
The live music was enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was good.
Excellent food/service as usual. Appreciate the consistency!
My wife and I came for our 5 year anniversary and had an awesome time. The service, food, and atmosphere are always great. This is one of our favorite date spots.
Fantastic food, drink and people!! You must go! Amazing
We were celebrating our Aunt’s 100th birthday She loved her steak she ordered and desert was given to her by Ambrosia
Amazing food. Amazing service. We got to sit on the outdoor patio which was a nice treat in the good weather. The inside was a little different smelling - musty maybe? But that didn’t really change our experience since we ate outside.
I went on July 6th around 6pm. First, let's talk parking. There is a parking lot that you will have to pay for. Or you can park on the street. After 6pm you do not need to pay the meters. Downtown is busy. So expect to do a little walking. The staff was outstanding and helpful. The atmosphere is very nice too. This is a quality fine dining restaurant. Leave the kids with a sitter because they won't appreciate it. I had the Fettuccini Davide and found it unimpressive. This was quite a surprise. I've eaten there several times and never been disappointed til now. Hmm. Well, I guess they can't all be Aces. Next time I'll try something else.
This experience I had at ambrosia really took me by surprise. I always go to ambrosia but my visit this time was not a good one. My grandma has moved here from California so I wanted to take her to a nice dinner. Not only was our table not being checked on like everyone else that was around us but the smell of cigarette smoke was so overbearing we could not enjoy our meal. When I told our waitress that my food wasn’t very warm she ignored me and walked off. I will still recommend for my other visits have been pleasant but this last visit was very disappointing.
Quiet with day before the 4th with an excelent waiter.
I have come to expect a solid dinner service at Ambrosia. On the most recent visit I ordered crap stuffed mushrooms and the New York steak special. The quality of the food and how it is cooked is very good. The steak was cooked exactly as I had ordered and accompanying mashed potatoes had a nice texture and subtle, yet pleasing flavor. Others at my table ordered the scallops, the chicken parm as their entrees. Again, they were all cooked skillfully with good quality ingredients. Where the restaurant could improve is in their plating. Plating is an important part of presenting a great meal. Admittedly, the most important thing is the preparation and taste of the food but good plating can elevate the diner's experience and good food and excellent plating together make patrons longing to return. Overall I would recommend this restaurant as a good place to go in Eugene for a well prepared meal. This is the fourth time I've been there and they have been consistently above average and this is not often the case with many area restaurants that can be very good one night and woefully lacking another. If you are hoping for a nice dinner and a relaxed environment, Ambrosia is a good choice.
It's with hesitation whether or not I could recommend this restaurant. We visited for a Dad and Grad night with well-in-advance 8:30pm reservations for four. Two of us ordered Steamed Clams which was over spiced with pepper flakes and neither of us could finish our clams and usually we LOVE steamed clams! Also my husband NEVER received his food and we finally had to get it to go when there were nearly closing. The only helpful thing was they fully comped out meal and drinks and also offered up a please come back again gift certificate for my daughter (the grad) so they could do better next time.
Outside of having a very sweet waitress and a cool vibe inside I would not recommend this restaurant. Less than half the restaurant seated we waited over a hour for our mains. Mine was decent but my husbands scallops were sooooooo over cooked that they were like hockey pucks. Was not happy! Tipped well because I felt bad for the waitress having to come back several times to apologize for the delay but won’t eat there again. I should have taken a picture of my husbands dinner to post.
Great place and space to celebrate a great milestone. Food and service were phenomenal as always - everything we ordered came out promptly. Staff are attentive and very polite.
The food was great, the server had a fantastic personality, and the live music was truly enjoyable.
I understand that things can go wrong in the kitchen, but when both dinner specials show up cold you know there is a problem. The $31 “Pasta Special” was pasta and melted butter with cream. Some attempt at seasoning would have been nice. When my medium rare steak returned it was now medium well. You would think at this point the manager would come over and show his appreciation for your business and apologize for the issues. They were nowhere to be found. The women taking care of our table did make a great effort to turn things around, but a little more attention from management would have helped. Four people with a $298 check should have been in a better place when we left. I get things can go wrong on the kitchen, but how you handle the issues is critical… Hmmmm..
I've been going to Ambrosia for over 20 years and I've always rated it at 5 stars and told everyone to go there. However, over the last year or so, the food quality has gone way down. I've had to even return my last two entrees. My other friends concur. We really want them to continue but we won't be returning until there is an improvement in the food.
My friends and I all really liked the food and experience. The food was a little on the oily side and the calamari was a little salty, but everything was still very good. There was a point where we had the call a server over. Other than that all of the servers were very nice and efficient.
Consistently good to great food, nice menu selection, wonderful service, casual, warm atmosphere. Eat at Ambrosia many times each year, always a very enjoyable dining experience.
Overall-a great time-seated quickly and all requests were accommodated. Service was friendly and we did not feel rushed at all. My steak was quite small, but grilled to perfection. The english muffins proved a challenge to my mother-in-law, as they were brittle- but she persisted because it was otherwise really tasty.
Great food and atmosphere. Music combo outside was very nice to listen to.
Excellent service and staff, amazing wines and great food. We sat outside and were challenged by the street noise and pedestrians, but that is totally out of Ambrosia's control and it wasn't so bad that it would ever deter me from sitting outside again. On a beautiful day, it is so nice to be able to have the option to sit outside.
I would definitely recommend Ambrosia to friends and eat there again and again, the wait and service staff were outstanding.
We absolutely loved the atmosphere and feel of Ambrosia. The food was outstanding and there was even live music which made us feel as if we left Eugene for the 2 hours! I would definitely go back if ever in Eugene again.
the best eggs benedict in town! we loved it. the music was good but too loud.
We ordered food and they came back to tell us they were out . They had 100 wines and a full bar but I asked if they could make a sangria and they said no. From when we knew what we wanted till we received our food was an hour and a half hour!! Both our meals came with seasonal vegetables but his had way more variety then mine somehow. Small portions for price. Atmosphere was cute but antique.
Although the service and atmosphere were great, we have never been to an Italian restaurant where you weren’t given at least a soup or salad with your dinner. The food was overpriced for the portion sizes that are served and one member of our party had to wait for his food well after everyone else’s was served.
There weren’t many people in the restaurant— lots of empty tables—and they still seated us next to a table of six pretty loud people...no objection to loud conversationalists...but I’d prefer not to be sitting next to them...
We were greeted and seated immediately upon arriving. Our seats were in the front of the restaurant which made it rather drafty. Our server was either spread a bit thin or she was new in her position. She seemed to always be rushing back and forth between tables in a less than confident manner. We ordered the calamari which came out quickly but was under-seasoned and greasy. The entrees were delicious and filling with large portion sizes. I would recommend Ambrosia in spite of the couple of pitfalls because the food was delicious.
