Service was terrific. We were greeted promptly and drinks and appetizers arrived within five minutes. Additional plates were delivered at just the right time. We love ordering a number of items and having the table share everything. The food was fantastic! This is one of our absolute favorite places.
The food is delicious, the sauces are very unique. Sometimes we call for reservations to sit at the high top table in the bar, have 2-3 appetizers and some wine.
This is our new favorite restaurant. They serve Mexican food such as you would find in the best restaurants of Mexico City, Puebla, or Oaxaca--regional, fresh, imaginative dishes. Their mole sauce is superb, as is the sauce on their shrimp dish. The top shelf tequilas are excellent, and their flan is a perfect ending to any meal. Don't be deceived by the strip mall location. Ambli is a beautiful and sophisticated restaurant with a knowledgeable staff.
The roasted chicken dinner was amazing. The scallops for an appetizer were great as well!
Delicious food...always a treat because of the great combination of flavors with a little kick! We enjoy consistently excellent service and highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a special experience.
We enjoyed our dinner and will certainly return.
Outstanding and elevated Mexican dishes. Satisfies the craving everytime...
Very unexpected. This place from the outside appears to be nothing special, but inside the decor is nice and the food options are varied. All four of us tried different meals and we all loved what we ordered. We will go again!
Very good dinner, but not as good as the Ambli was before they switched to Ambli Mexico. We had several small plates, including chicken soup which was good, trout sushi (which had cooked fish instead of raw) which was excellent.
Still a great place. However..we had notified the restaurant thru open table. There were 6 of us. Disappointed they did not remember and/or provide a treat for the Birthday.
Prices for value are also a little too highly priced.
We were celebrating birthdays but they didn’t do anything to acknowledge it and our server was a little disinterested in taking our table even though it was a slow night. He did recommend the tasting menu and it was fantastic! However one the runners for our table was much more friendly and enthusiastic when bringing us our food.
We hadn't been to Ambli since they changed the menu to Mexican. We loved it previously, and we love it still! There were 6 people at our table and everyone loved every single dish we ordered. We opted for the tasting menu, and our server was quick to customize our offerings to address various dietary restrictions and dislikes at our table. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we'll all be going back often!
Our third visit. Will return!
Having "Jim" greeting diners is a welcome feature.
Our dinner at Ambli was one of the best meals we've ever had. We tried the recommended tequila, which was fabulous, moved on to the refreshing pear salad, sopped up every drop of the amazing sauce that came with the grilled shrimp, and enjoyed the mole platter. All this was topped off with an unforgettable flan. What an exceptional culinary experience in a lovely setting.
Our first experience here since the switch to Mexican food and it will definitely not be our last. We ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu for two and every single dish was a winner and we would certainly order them again. The trout sushi was sublime, the pear/arugula salad fresh and bright, the skirt steak skewers with onions perfectly seasoned and the Pollo Rostizado was quite generous and a creative and delightful blend of flavors. It will be hard to forego repeating any of these in order to try other items, but we will try and experience every item on the menu at some point. Service was excellent and the serving of the various courses was well timed. We neglected to get the name of our waiter's name this past Monday night......he was terrific.
One of the best dining experiences ever! The chef is from Mexico City and the food is so unlike the Mexican food we experience in the Denver area. The meal is progressive and portions are to share. The service was top shelf. I highly recommend it.
I love this place! The reason I gave the food 4 stars is because the scallop ceviche was a little fishy and overall underwhelming and the shrimp in the jalapeno shrimp was overcooked, but I love that sauce.
The absolute best meal we have had in a while. The service was amazing. The tequila jalapeño shrimp is one of my favorite dishes in any restaurant. We highly recommend doing the tasting menu. You can’t beat it! This place is definitely our family favorite!
First time at their Mexican rendition. Very good food. Quite enjoyed it. Room is could use more tables as it seems overly spacious. Slightly odd build out but food is good and that’s what’s most important. Would go back and recommend for sure.
Very interesting menu and the owner came by, sat down with us to see how we liked the food. Very good service and very good food.
The food was excellent, margaritas great, lighting perfect. Overall a wonderful experience.
Limited menu choices and we were told we needed to leave by 7:30 pm as the table was going to used for the next reservation
Food was phenomenal and well priced. Margaritas were small and expensive.
Had the tasting menu— everything was extraordinarily delicious. Highly recommended— excellent service, great frozen margaritas. A fantastic meal all around
One of the best restaurants in Denver!
Ambli Mexico lacks the charm of the former Ambli. The drinks were small, tasteless and overly priced for the poor selection of wine and the more ice than liquid Margaritas. Our group of 8 did the "tasting menu". The appetizers were outstanding although none of them were served hot...warm at best. I might mention there was only 2 other tables there at the same time we were there. The entree portion was very small considering we had 4 men and 4 women to enjoy the 3 dinner plate servings of the small entrees for 8 people. Our dinner reservation was @ 5:30 pm and at 4:37 pm a voice mail was left indicating that there was a $35 minimum per person for food & beverage and that a 22% gratuity would be included as well. I received the message after we had dined.
We dined on a Saturday night. We ordered the guacamole, which was not worth the $10, not enough chips. We then had the brisket burrito roll, which was good! We also had the pollo mole platter, which we liked even more. Service went downhill after our appetizer was delivered. Hard to flag her down to order more food and drinks. Someone named "Jimmy" came to our table and introduced himself. Didn't know why or who he was but too bad he couldn't take an order! Drinks are way overpriced. The $12 traditional margarita did not seem to have any Gran Marnier in it and it was very small for the price.
Incredible food, service was even better then the food, if that was even possible! Amazing!!!
Unique and excellent food. Great service. We would definitely go back.
Spectacular! We ate there 10 days ago and had to come back with friends. The decor is lovely, the service impressive and the food is to die for! We’ve done the tasting menu each time and there wasn’t anything that wasn’t a 10-except for maybe the trout sushi, which was a 12 out of 10!
Requested a booth on a Wednesday at 6 and they didn’t even give us a corner booth... they wouldn’t give us a large booth because there’s only two of us. Also said it was a birthday celebration and did not have acknowledgement of this at all!
The waiter was very robotic and was not personable or warm and not welcoming at all! Menu was hard because we are used to the old menu and not used to the New Mexican one. The food was excellent, especially the flan was delicious, but portions were small and overpriced.
Great presentation, great food, good value, and attentive service from Kyra. What else would you want as it hits on all points.
Kyra was a very attentive and knowledgeable server... food creative and inspired. My new fave!
Delicious food! We shared l, mostly tapas style.
Portions are the perfect size (not huge but not small), and tons of flavor. You don’t feel overly stuffed but very satisfying. Everything was excellent!
Can only say good things about our evening. We did the chef’s tasting and loved every one of the courses. It was a very pleasant experience that we will enjoy again!
Fun menu, great staff, a real gem.
I'm looking forward to going back.
Great food and service ! Love talking to Jimmy when I arrive.
This is not your typical TexMex or American Mexican food. It comes from Mexico City and is gourmet good. The Kiwi Orange Margarita is a cool twist and one of the daily drink specials ($9). You can have a tasting menu for $30 which will be tailored to your preferences and leave you stuffed. The street corn is an unusual, not to be missed starter. There are plenty of seafood and meat specials. The Pollo Mole Platter is delicious. You are likely to see the owner coming around to be sure you liked your meal and personally thank you. This place is truly a delight.
We have been to both Ambli restaurants and they are both excellent, while offering entirely different menus. The staff is friendly and helpful, ownership is on-site to ensure you are pleased with everything and the food and drinks are all very good. We will definitely return and we recommend that you try it as well.
