I have eaten there many times before but the menu has changed since the pandemic. It was very quiet and we didn’t eat outside because it was too sunny. The food was very dry. They gave us two sauces but they were so spicy, they were very hard to use. If you like spicy food Amber is the place to go. However the food itself was not very spicySo that was good.
Menu was limited, food was dry, and definitely lacked flavor.
By far the worst Indian restaurant
The food was pretty good! I had been to the Amber in SF and the ambience wasn't as nice at this one, but the food and service made up for it.
Nice food, good service but can be better. Not enough waiters
Food was very overpriced. Quality and service was not good at all. We had to keep chasing for service. In the past service and food use to be really good
The food is very bland and suited more for Non Indian taste.
Great food as always. We have always loved restaurant dining but outside was also fun.
Amazing food and service. We arrived late but still got a table with help from the front desk.
Outdoor seating was funky with no umbrellas and ineffectual heaters (flames were pretty but most heat radiated up.) Light drizzle began and turned a night out to take out.
They did the best they could not n Covid. Excellent food. Fantastic service.
Great food .. nice saag paneer, excellent tandoori chicken. HIghly recommended!
They just weren't prepare for the new outdoor dining. Understaffed at the time we dined there. The servers & help were friendly but overwhelmed. Maybe will improve with time.
Although this was valentines day, it was not made apparent to me that the meals were fixed menu for the night. They were busy, and that's OK, but the service and timeliness of the food were not that great.
The review is on valentine’s dinner. I’ve been other times and really enjoyed, but valentine’s was a real disaster. Food was a tasteless mix of stuff, not even resembling Indian. Nearly inedible. Looking sloppy. Service was very inaccurate too. Very loud music, singer signing out of tune.
Fabulous food and atmosphere. Excellent lunch buffet with great choices.
Way past it’s best. Decor is tired and old - worn material on the benches, evident food stains here and there and just a general shabby appearance to the whole restaurant. Food a sad shadow of its former self - microwaved and dry chicken, stale tasting lamb shik kebabs and far from fresh lentils. Not a good experience, won’t be back anytime soon
Unnecessarily expensive. Not valie for money
Came here for a business meal on an off day--perfect! Quiet enough to have a conversation. Food was delish and everyone left happy. Will definitely book again for a similar occasion.
Excellent in every way, a delightful dinner!
Wonderful, freshly cooked weekend buffet! A good experience and great value!
Went to the restaurant for a true Amber food experience for NYE. Totally disappointed with the food. The food tasted like a typical buffet food you would get a standard Indian buffet. Was hoping to have a nice sit down meal with ordering a la carte from a menu. The servers were fantastic and polite.
The service was extremely poor. At one point, there was a group of servers just standing around, not taking our order. We were a party of 6 at 5:30pm, so there weren’t that many people around. Food was good but also not worth it for the price.
Food is always excellent. Cleanliness is somewhat of a concern. Could be cleaner. Had to exchange cups and silverware before. Love the food though.
It was a special date with my wife after I have been praising the place as I have been there multiple times.
Drove 45 min from North Bay Area.
Very bad experience.
No plates.
No food replenished.
Waited for very long just to get clean plates or Naan.
Good quality was bad today. I am guessing with over crowded guests the kitchen was taking short cuts in preparation.
Wasted time and money for the service we didn’t get.
Food was avg and the service was terrible. It was a birthday party and they seated next to the kitchen it was noisy I asked to be moved we landed next to the bathroom with more noise. Really bad service they took our order and disappeared drinks came late and quality of food was just avg. Not worth the money.
Average Buffet at higher price, thats pretty much to summarize
It was horrible! I would not recommend this place to anyone. We were given really bad table, in separate room from rest of the restaurant. The noise level was way too high. The manager at the front was not even concern about it. He told us to wait for 30 more mins if we wanted to change the table. I would give zero star.
The worst servers. We had to wait for a very long time for any request to be filled.
Amazing place!
The food was good, apart from the potatoes in the dosa. Service was all over the place and there were delays on multiple food items.
Manager was doing a good job with the staff.
The ambience was good and so was the presentation of the food. But the food lacked the flavors that we were looking forward to
Food was good. Though entrees takes a lot of time. Deserts even much more time. Overall they have to improve the service, some times we were felt we were ignored forever until we call someone
Best experience ever. Great food. The Gobi bezule (cauliflower) was excellent.
I didn’t enjoy the food here. I can’t recall ever having bad I dian food before. The rice had crunchy grains in it and the Butter Chicken has pieces of bone and cartilage in almost every piece. Who serves pieces of bone to customers? No, this wasn’t good at all. Especially since they charge Santana Row prices. The service was quite slow and inattentive as well. I waited longer for my check than it took me to eat my meal.
The Indian cuisine was lovely: the spices were an intrigue to our senses, the variety of texture and color infused the meal with interest and variety. And that is truly the description of India!
Good food, but overpriced for the serving size. My Butter Chicken should have cost $18, not $26. On the other hand, the bar serves an excellent Rye Manhattan, so it wasn’t too terrible. ;-)
The food and service was fabulous.
Good Indian place for a casual dining or an office lunch out. Food is almost always good. This time a little extra salt had crept into a couple of dishes. Cutlery was not easily available for curries and desserts
Great food
Not nearly as good as the other locations. Not nearly the same menu. Skip this one and drive up to Mountain View.
